Calamundin is the same as Kalamansi (Filipino) name. It will not survive where you live outdoor. You need to direct sun all day but can tolerate a some sunshine. You are so right. They are better than lime or lemon. The best citrus juice than lemonade and orange juice. I have 3 kalamansi in Arizona about 10 ft tall. They produce fruit 3 times a year. You should pick those kalamansi fruit while they are green, do not wait until they become yellowish. It will dried up inside the fruit and you will get less juice from it. Good job!!!! You need to prune your kalamansi tree to make it greenier leaves and it will give you more fruits. Try it! Prune the from the top to make the height even and check the branches you think are not flowering. Don't give up. If you understand Tagalog, go on youtube and watch the kalamansi growers in the Philippines how to maintain the trees. Watch "Agri Juan". He's has hectares of kalamansi trees and he will suggest ways you will be surprise. I have learned a lot from him.
I have several kalamansi in containers. I do minimal and basic care so they survive being indoor throughout winter months. I can't wait for them to be outside soon. Salamat po sa suggestions. Mabuhay!
Wow ..lemonsito.,calamansi or calamondin..ah basta damo na og benefits sa atoa lawas .. Lemonade juice gyud ba the best. Sana all naay tanom nga kalamansi heheh
Thank you for sharing- reassures me that my container bound Kalamansi will be okay for years to come. I have mine for more than two years now and only this year that it is bearing fruits.
Hi Marie! I just found your channel while researching about Calamondin! I just purchased one at Lowes today. What kind of Citrus Fertilizer do you use? When is the best time to fertilize and when to not fertilize? During the winter time, I have to put these inside the house. Is it okay to use Grow lights on them, since I do not have any sunny spot inside the house.....Thanks a lot!
Hi, what zone are you? I live in zone 7. I take my calamondin plants inside during winter.. i sometimes forget to fertilize LOL. But at least fertilize once or twice a year. One in spring and one in Fall before cold season. You can buy cittus fertilizer, or if not available just a regular fruit tree fertilizer
@@jazzcanada2001 in winter, yes I put near the window to get some sunlight. A grow light should help if you don't have a window. Zone 8 is warm, you can try planting.it outside..if you have extra.calamondin plant. Don't risk your only plant, though 😀
What soil mixture do you use? That plant on the artificial clay pot looks huge. Stems look huge how old is it? I'm surprised it can get that huge in such a small pot (10 gal?)
It's my oldest calamondin tree, 15 years old planted from a seed. I prune it every year to control the size. I also fertilize at leasr once a year. Regular fertilizer or citrus fertilizer would work. I used just regular potting soil. You can buy citrus potting soil also
I have a problem. I planted the calamansi seeds last year into pots. 9b zone in Florida. They have grown so tall with thorns. Should I cut down the branches with thorns?

I just bought mine. And just wanted to ask when should i fertilize it? May bunga na siya, and some of it iharvest ko na. Pero may mga ilang flowers pa po. Is it okay to feed them fertiliser na?
Marie, have you repotted any of your kalamansi while flowering? I've been thinking of transferring mine to a bigger pot. I am afraid I will kill it if I do so.
Yes I have done that many times. I suggest you don't water a day before your repot so the soil is not soft and doesn't fall apart. Calamondin is easy to transplant. Fertilize and water right after you repot
Hi dapat may ilaw talaga pra maka survive ang lemon tree. Also.make sure you bring the tree inside before mag tag lamig or before late fall pra hindi ma shock ang tree. Malalagas ang mga dahon if it gets temperature shock.
I heard those are really cold tolerant specially when they’re bigger, you might want to try putting one in the ground and see if it doesn’t make it through the winter like one of the ones you grew from seed
@@wellnessandcountrylife Excuse me, my family has had a kalamansi plant that they've had for roughly five or so years that has yet to EVER bear any fruit. If I plant the seeds from the green calamansi, will it still grow or must it be from the ripe orange ones?
What kind of fertilizer do you use for winter? Im also growing my kalamasi and the leafs are getting yellow
It needs nitrogen. Your soil needs compost and organic matter. There are available citrus fertilzers you can buy.

If you live in 4 season country, lemons die in freezing climate. They cool but not frost. take them indoor if you plant them in containers.
