The salt cellar and celery try were used when celery was decadent to serve. There was not mass refrigeration and it was hard to come by in cold states in winter.

My Mom (born in the 1920's) used to put salt on her celery and that seems to have been the style at one time. She probably learned that from her grandmother (who was born in the 1870's) who she grew up with. That may be why there are celery dishes with matching salt cellars from the early 1900's. My mother also put salt on watermelon!

Back in the day celery was eaten with salt. When celery became popular and the “in” thing for the Victorians, for whatever the reason, that was how it was served. I ate it with a pinch of salt when I was a child but not anymore. Also watermelon, cantaloupe and home grown tomatoes were eaten with salt. I still remember in the summer, sitting on the porch eating watermelon or tomatoes with my friends passing around the salt shaker. 😊

So your at the shop now and you do your box openings... on camera ...you set up some tables have your packing and shipping stations set up do your opening and send the item down the line for cleaning packing have your casie take the photos and list the item right from the shop ... you handle the item one time and it’s cleaned listed with item numbers right on the box with a sharpie then when it sells you pull off shelf and make label and ship ... just a thought saves Handling and moving so much. ❤️💕

20:24 Assuming it is genuine, the mark is a 1920's Moriyama company mark. The ref to Atlantic City could be the destination is was marked for export, or it could have been added later? Or it could be a US made repro with a fake mark of course! The figures on the vase are Kannon and Arhat btw.

I don’t think that we have any currently-that I know of. There could be some hiding in boxes. I’ll keep my eyes peeled!

Geisha = GAY-shuh. lol. Walter is doing GREAT with his shipping skills! All of the things I've bought from you show up perfectly wrapped & boxed, and in perfect shape. Fast, too. The things I am sending out are ending up broken, at least 30 percent of the time! I've heard this from lots of other sellers, too. We 'think' maybe we can blame it a tad bit on the USPS/FEDEX/UPS people having too much work, and they can't be quite as careful as usual (and we can't blame them!). But please let him know, I see him and he's doing a great job. ;)

You should sell some of those old bottle lamps that Drew's dad makes, if he makes more of them, you could sell them for like $25 for one and $35-$40 for 2. Then Drew's dad can make a little extra money. I simply love bottles found in bottle dumps. ☺️☺️💕💜💕💜💕🇩🇰
