Your art and animation are such an inspiration. I'm kind of impressed what you accomplished in 7 hours. Something that doesn't look even half as good would take me 7 days at best.
It’s great! Tbh you could have done all of that animation and comp in Aseprite itself. If you were going to do a slow camera push in for a cool 3D multiplane effect then I think it’d have made sense to separate out the planes and jump into Blender, but yeh, I think you probably could have stayed in Aseprite for everything, including the glow effects on the windows and the jiggling steam machine. In any event, great work and thank you for sharing! ❤
I don't know if you know this, you probably do. But by accident you recreated the beautiful old master's way of 2D animation. The disney multiplaner camera for the modern age. This is so cool, you got a new fan and a subscriber. :D
Because developing games and creating art are two completely different sets of skills? Their art is absolutely beautiful, yes, but making games, just like art, takes years of studying and practice
I came across this video after I was looking at guides for blender and pixel art for the first time and I think this is the what I want to achieve one day if I manage to master both blender and aseprite I don't even have a computer right now but one day for sure I will get this level no matter how much time it takes me!!!!!
I think you can make your live a whole lot easier if you use an orthographic camera in blender. that way you don't need to go back and forth with position and scaling to compensate for the lens. looks stunning nonetheless
@@Rollyourown1 Fazer aquele nivel de iluminação e sombra no aseprite seria meio dificil, mas tem pessoas que costuma usar o photoshop para essa mesma finalidade, ainda sim, acho mais irado no blender.
@@Bucket_Will I understand what you're saying, but I think doing it in aseprite or photoshop is faster. The animation he can already do in aseprite, and the 3D doesn't really seem to be required here. so lighting is the only thing but you can throw a layer on with opacity to get the glow pretty easily. I don't know, for me it feels overkill to use Blender but hey, it's all about the end product.
This was so beautiful to watch. Glad I've stumbled upon your channel, I have been learning AseSprite myself recently since I've been getting into gamedev and wanting to make my own assets when I feel good about my skill level. This motivated me to also get back into re-learning Blender again after not touching it in months. I also had no idea ya can merge what ya create in AseSprite within Blender. this is giving me so many fun ideas of my own pieces when I find time of course. Thanks again Potato.
Would you be open on doing little tutorials on how you shade ? The art is so amazing, I'm planning on making a game and your art inspires me so much ❤❤
my best art that made a total of 3 thousand views took 6 hours to make, and it surely looked worse than this. I'm gonna learn from your process and maybe one day try it myself! Thanks for the motivation
i really love the mixed pixel-art style (like no lineart on the nature side while u used it on the car or the bakery) and i really really love the whole concept of this little bakery runned by a small potate in the middle of the forest that not only deliveries by car but even by boat. The fact u managed to re-align all on blender and managed to animate it too? You nailed it. I'm a new artist and your art, it inspires me a lot. I noticed you have some add-on / scripts, could you tell me which ones? I think they could help me improve my art.
I think you'd have an easier time aligning the pixels in blender if you use the grid snapping tools ! you can change the unit scale in scene properties !
That 2.5D effect of the final animation, where there is actual depth even though everything is in pixel art is actually really cool.
7 hours? nah bro is too good, bro is speedrunning it

The depth and perspective you put into this especially ill the windows in nothing short of incredible
love the blender+aseprite workflow, never seen anything like it!
The way the smoke was missing and you went back to see where you saved it LOL great work. the blender part is always super amazing

я тоже не понял зачем тут Blender ))
thats natural and greeny I love that art
didn't ever think that blender and aseprite could work together so well
great job

This is so cool, you got a new fan and a subscriber. :D
The most crazy thing about this are the colors you’re picking
I'm not sure the blender part was needed, but it's art is great, good job!
Using Blender for lighting is actually genius

I agree!
You can be both but you are not ash (10 years old with 25 yrs of exp) also we have bills to pay so not ideal… with a team? Yes. By yourself? Risky.
Thanks for uploading masterpieces, your art literally saved me from depression. I keep making pixel art after watching your videos 🫶

Very cool
But how silly can a potato get?
I’m going to be stuck on potatato all day now
I think you can just animate it all on aseprite without the blender, but still this is very impressively done!
I thought my brain was skipping on 'potatato' haha. Beautiful art!
I think you'd have an easier time aligning the pixels in blender if you use the grid snapping tools !
