Blood Blade? With the reach nagakiba has you can easily hit with both the projectile and the blade.

This is from a primarily PvP perspective, but the Nagakiba is one of the best weapons to put Barbaric Roar on, since it's a Katana it gets the "fast" version of the altered heavy attack (which is a three-hit true combo in PvP!) and it gives a ton of Hyper Armor on those heavy attacks, starting on Frame 1 of the attack meaning the moment you press the button, you get 300 Poise and reduce incoming Poise damage by 50%, even if it's uncharged, which can trade into basically anything but the largest attacks in PvE. I know a Heavy Nagakiba _sounds_ dumb, but it seriously gets the most potential damage from the two-handed Strength scaling on the Heavy infusion, Keen will always give less attack power for the same amount of stats unless you are using Power Stance to hold two of them, and Occult would give even less. You'd think Occult would come out ahead because of the innate Bleed on the weapon getting scaled, but if you don't mind just a bit of grinding you can put Blood Grease on a Heavy Nagakiba to get 75 build-up, which is about equivalent to an Arcane investment of 46 on an Occult Nagakiba, which isn't the Arcane soft cap for weapon damage but my point is that you get a ton of "free Arcane levels" for using Blood Grease, while retaining a higher damage output of the Heavy infusion. Also, going Strength means you get a ton of all the Physical Defenses as a bonus, as opposed to the Holy Defense of Arcane which is less generally applicable, and Dexterity which gives you nothing substantial if you are not a caster.

@@tonytran9463 Long comment ahead, I just went and kept typing details for a really long time, so read at your own risk.
For me personally, my starting class is Vagabond, and I go with 60 Vigor, 18 Endurance, 99 Strength, and 17 Dexterity. I get the last 5 points of Dexterity I need to reach the minimum requirements of the Nagakiba from using Millicent's Prosthesis, and I also wear the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia (I'd recommend getting the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia first since it's harder to obtain all the way in the Haligtree, then go into NG+ to get Millicent's Prosthesis from killing her in the Windmill Village from doing her quest again.), the Roar Medallion, and the new Two-Handed Sword Talisman. My armor set of choice is the new Rakshasa set, and my Crystal Tears of choice are the Thorny Cracked Tear and the new Bloodsucking Cracked Tear for when I'm trolling/Opaline Hardtear for when I'm playing seriously, and my consumables of choice are Bloodboil Aromatic when I'm trolling/Exalted Flesh or Boiled Crab for when I'm playing seriously, and Uplifting Aromatic because it stacks with either of those options.
The three hit true combo of Barbaric Roar will activate the first level of your multi-hit buffs on the third total swing, a second true combo will activate the second level on the sixth total swing, and the third true combo will activate the third level on the ninth total swing, discounting any hits you land outside of your heavy attacks the buffs will fall off very rapidly meaning ideally you'd be hitting multiple opponent's at the same time, managing to hit 3 people will result in ridiculous blendering as your attack skyrockets. Also, the Rakshasa set gives enough Poise for you to Hyper Armor trade with the two-handed light attack of a Colossal Sword without the need for the Bull-Goat Talisman, which is a pretty nice plus as well.
My default attack power with no other buffs active (besides the passively active Two-Handed Sword Talisman and Rakshasa set) is _769._ You can easily reach over 1000 effective attack power with basic buffs like Barbaric Roar, Exalted Flesh, and Uplifting Aromatic, then even higher with the multi-hit stuff, and then go even further beyond with memes like Bloodboil and Bloodsucking for the ultimate "I don't care if I die immediately afterwards due to life drain, I'm going to trade into you" Berserker-style, with everything active I've see it reach over 1900 in the menus and it probably goes even higher if I was faster at menuing to see the buffs before they drop off. This build is ideal for turn and burns where you are running away from a gank squad then you throw out a random heavy attack and trade into 3 people running on auto pilot while chasing you down and delete them all, but it's pretty risky and you'd probably be better off using more reasonable defensive buffs like Boiled Crab and Opaline Hardtear over the ones that give you lots of damage in exchange for actively killing you for using them.
And a secret bit of Talisman swapping tech (if you are in to that kind of thing), you can equip Marika's Scarseal prior to Invading to have exactly enough Faith, Mind, and Arcane as a Vagaond to cast both Bloodflame Blade (for even more Bleed than Drawstring Blood Grease) and Bestial Vitality (for some extra health restoration) while still having enough FP to use Uplifting Aromatic and Barbaric Roar (EDIT: you won't have enough to use Bloodboil Aromatic even with the Soreseal, so you'll either need to drink some blue, forgo the memes and use Exalted Flesh/Boiled Crab instead, or disgustingly invest a point into Mind from reallocating from some other stat), then you can swap back to something else after casting your buffs. I discovered this on accident just the other day when I realized Vagabond starts with 9 Faith and 7 Arcane, and the Scarseal gives you 3 in each, and is found really early in the game in Siofra River next to the Dragonkin Soldier boss fight at the base of a waterfall.

Spinning slash with bleed affinity makes the Nagakiba broken! Procs bleed almost immediately to the most tanky enemies while also staggering them and causing insane posture damage. What more do you need?

Best ash of war by a mile for this weapon is unsheathe.
Trust me, go put it on and come back enlightened.
The over head heavy has stupid reach the sideswing is designed for guard breaks. Says right in the definition, and the stance can be held, making one of the most powerful talisman in the dlc viable for it as well.
Ontop of all this the overhead heavy has the second highest poise damage per second , second only to astels wing ash of war.
