I totally agree with the frustration with the hands. I'd love for them to figure out something a bit more secure, I just don't know what that would be. Keep em coming Em!
If they don’t want to change the ball joints just make them better. Armored puppets don’t have weak joints so Hexa gear doesn’t have any excuse the arms on Hexa gear governors are way too weak

It seems like some of the models require painting, namely for faces and such. Was anything painted on this set, or are all these colours what it looks like out of the box?
It depends on the kit itself but grey/white are the common colors for Hexa Gear. You don't actually need to paint the kit but yes you're right about the faces, especially for the human type, at least they have provided eye decals for the latest kit tho.
Hexa Gear is a rather new plastic model kit series by Kotobukiya (only 5 years in the market) and there's a lore posted in their official website and TH-cam do check it out!!!

Depends on where you're looking for them? haha! But Bandai is everywhere!
