Nice quick how to. Seems like a good quick way to get a 2 inch lift. I still question not needing new axels though. It seems like you will almost always need new axels when you start lifting a machine.
Midwest ATV any mod will find a weak spot and a steeper angle is harder on axles ....but...this kit basically sets your suspension at max travel....which is still a stock setting...it isnt over travelling what kawi designed but it is at max travel more often. the killer of axles is over torqing them with a sudden stop, extreme angles, heavy loads, and turning sharply while on throttle to name a few.
PowerModz thanks for the response, and I hear what you are saying. I'm not saying it will immediately destroy your axels. Over the long run though, I think I would always recommend replacing your axels if you are going to lift your machine. Then again, if your going to be customizing your machine axels are near the top of the list in my book anyway.
I'm curious on where you got your lift kit from. I've been looking for one similar to the one you installed, and just haven't had any luck finding it. If you have a link from where you purchased it, I would appreciate it
Hey Louis! I was thinking about getting a pair of 28 mega mayhems for my brute 750. Did you have a clutch kit installed in your brute for the tires and did the tires still rub with the lift? Thanks man
To get more movement out of independent suspension to keep all four wheels to the ground, makes ride softer, doesn't torque the frame as much and easier to balance with your own weight. Ofcourse it will cause more leaning in turns but it's not problem in offroad use.
Lioro1000 ok, fair enough. I would agree with removing them depending on the situation. Not sure I would do it for those who ride trails on a regular basis but for those who mainly rock climb I could see doing it. I think it really comes down to the type of rising you prefer.
Brandon Johnson lol, that was my thought. I know he mentioned it went out much extra tension on them due to the slight angle change but I don't know...just seems like you will always end up needing new axels when you do a lift.
I'm curious... If you were to flip those brackets upside down ( to lower the brute) would the mount and shock clear the exhaust ect? .
Gunna be great mud bike but still very capable for trail driving..great vid and build guys
nice video, would u do spring spacer too or would that be too much?
So why does highlifter state you need 1” spacers in the rear. What does it cause it to hit? Ordered mine and it hasn’t arrived yet. Just curious
