I've had 3 of these in UK, 1.8 estate, 1.8 sri hatch and 2.5 V6 sri saloon in silver. Great car, glorious sound at 6k rpm. Apart from one broken aux belt, absolutely reliable.
I've had two of them - a 1.8 then a 2.5 V6 SRI in black ... head gasket went on the V6 and on the 1.8 I had random check engine lights that came on and went away whenever they wanted lol. Not my favourite cars reliability-wise (and I did look after them!) - but the V6 did sound nice with a proper exhaust and intake I have to say. I'd have another one nowadays just because they're different - a GSI in this shape would be very tempting to be honest.

My first car was a Vectra B a few years ago. I like this car for his design. Now I have Vectra B 2.6 V6 CDX Edition 2000 in original condition, paint and with low mileage - 92 700km. My Dad used to have a Vectra estate in Green years ago when I was a toddler but not the V6 one! It was a lovely car to drive! Wish he had it still as it’s so comfortable!
I love old cars like that. Simple, standard, great daily drivers or first cars, doesn't break the bank, and it's historic! I was a little kid when these were new in '97! Lol.

I own a 2005 Vectra 2.2 16V (the last generation that was manufactured here in Brazil), with more mileage than the one in the video, it's over 272,500 km. Unfortunately the Brazilian Chevrolet didn't bring this powerful V6 engine here, so it's very curious to see a Vectra equipped with it, as we don't have any here in the country. Until last year, it was my daily car. It’s now retired and I only run the engine on weekends. It has become collectible, I will only use it to take to vintage car shows in the near future. I have owned every generation of the Opel Vectra, great comfortable family cars. It's a real shame they don't make the Vectra anymore. I then switched to Volkswagen and like it also fine.
This was called the Vauxhall vectra in England I used to own the 1.7 TD Isuzu engine version.Very strong Japanese engine but the car itself did not outlast the engine sadly.
748.000 km with a 2.0 dti, nothing inside fall apart, no issue at all, in 17 years, still running strong in eastern europe, i gifted my vectra B to an elder bulgarian man in need, still in love with this car, thinking to buy one like this, as a sunday ride, this car follow me into the entire process from becoming a young boy to a mature men, helped me in every single aspect of my life, i know will be there if i need.

The german Autobahn Police had a few V6 Vectras (and Omega B) as unmarked units, a buddy of me bought one in a police auction in the early 2000s. It had high mileage, but it was well maintained and it was fun to drive, because it had no "2.5 V6" logo on the back and nobody expected 170 HP in there. :D He used it as winter car until it had too much rust to restore it for the TÜV...
I remember those! My parents owned the LW300 (wagon) version when we lived in Canada, it was a nice car and pretty good in the winter. It was then traded in for a Mercedes C320 Wagon which wasn’t so good unfortunately :(
Those are the engines, circa 5 years of no running and only a fuel pump malfunction. I have Astra G with 1.6 8V petrol engine, those Opel engines are immortal!
It is incredible that people abandon cars like this they do not understand that it is money thrown away ... this car in a junkyard or for parts gives money ... it is a shame. I hope that with you it will be restored and go to a better place
@@dolomite_73 rust has killed lot of them, most of them just sit and not being used, the V6s in them are very strong engines but being old a lot of them now have worn valve stem seals, oil cooler can fail if the cooling system was not maintained properly, people can misdiagnose this as a head gasket issue, earlier models had a inferior built oil cooler but were uprated later in production, very early V6s had oil pump issues but that was rectified, cambelts also need doing around 40-70k miles mark but apart from that it is bullet proof.
I have 2 of them a 2.5 v6 and a 1.8 16v and I love these cars, this design is unique that didn't exist before and after that not anymore and yes I agree with the previous speakers it is a design icon that is unfortunately becoming increasingly rare if you can save him because the 2.5 v6 as a manual switch was very rare anyway and is becoming increasingly rare, in Opel circles he is still in great demand, I think if a Vectra that The Vectra b with V6 has what it takes to become a sought-after classic car.
If you want to use this car, you have to change all brakes, tires, oil, petrol from the tank, filters, probably exhaust too. V6 was pretty rare, probably the best looking sedan of the 90s. Beside the e46 3 series of course

This Vectra B made a giant sucess here in Brasil. He came with a 2.0 OHC v4 motor, replacing the vectra A, in 1996 and stay until 2000, be replaced for a facelifiting version, called Vectra Millenium. This last had a 2.2 and a 2.4 DOHC V4 engine. Im scared, how the ppl leaves their cars in NA / Europe, i wonder is by the facility for buy another car. Here in Brasil, if u get a burn of a headgasket, u send it for a head rectifier, and assembly it back at a car engine, and dont leaves your car away lol.

The ownership of the car was transferred on 01.11.2021, so someone is taking care of it. If it were to be crushed or gutted, new documents would probably not have been issued.
I personally didn't mind the Vectra B. It's reputation amongst Top Gear fanboys was ruined though thanks to Jeremy Clarkson and his dislike of it. It wasn't a 'great' car, but certainly not the worst.

GM V6's have always sounded great. I bet the cyl heads are all gunked up and once cleaned up with a new cyl head gasket it should be ok.
head and valves need some job too, new thermostat and water pump, also belts. its lots of work

We had an earlier version of the Opel Vectra in the US called the Saturn L300. Had a 3.0 version of the german V6. It was made from 2000 to 2005.

That’s most likely programmed into an eeprom, wouldn’t need power to keep that info

Первой ВСЕГДА надевается плюсовая клемма, а снимается первый наоборот минусовая. Горе мастер.
Какая разница
Плюсовую скинешь и может попасть на кузов или двигатель и будет замыкание, а минус он и есть минус.
