Master Illusionist Andre Kole: Is Jesus Messiah or Magician?

  • Andre Kole, world class illusionist, studied the miracles of Jesus in the Bible from the perspective of a magician to see if Jesus was the Messiah as he claimed or if he in fact could have been just a great magician. As he put Jesus to the test through magic, he found that there is only one answer possible: that Jesus is who he said he is, the son of God, and that these were not tricks, but true miracles, and Andre has followed Jesus ever since.

First point is completely irrelevant. You’re assuming he’d have walked on water with the exact same technique you used. I’ve seen people do the same thing with a table an inch under the water. Does that cost thousands of dollars??? The second he started talking about a warm feeling walking past a church you just know he’s going to be bias.....

Warm feelings come from listening to good music, you can get the same feelings listening to a choir singing in perfect pitch. He needed to have felt this in his heart external from the building, which he didn't.

The Magic is that it’s a Story That People Believe!
Jesus had to have built the Pyramids as well huh?
Bar-jesus Son of Joshua, the patronymic of Elymas the sorcerer (Act 13:6), who met Paul and Barnabas at Paphos. Elymas is a word of Arabic origin meaning "wise."

Of course Kole would say that because he was already a believer. Most of Jesus' alleged miracles from the bible can be performed today by illusionists. It's certainly not unrealistic to think him and his crew of disciples (assistants) could stage something like a crucifixion, walking on water or switching water to wine.

Jesus was not a magician, but he was what is termed the Rab Mag or Cheif Magus(of the Magi. They used spiritual sciences. Although, the word magician come from the Magi, and is a watered down commercialized version of it. Daniel was also called Rab Mag.

    • @bobrictor1935
      @bobrictor1935 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

No. Jesus wasn’t a Rab Mag. He was, and is, God incarnate. His miracles weren’t spiritual sciences, they were signs that pointed to his deity. And his greatest sign was his resurrection from the dead - an historic event witnessed by more than 500 people.

It is typical for atheist to “try to destroy” any testimony.
If there is a “crime” there has be a motive:
    • Jesus didn’t intended to found a new religion! (He intended to change Judaism to the better without changing the original meaning)
    • He didn’t enriched himself.
    • He didn’t even seek a compromise when his life depended on it.
    • Only decades and centuries later, Christianity “took off”...
His teaching were solely being good and pacifistic. Even if he wouldn’t have done wonders, he would be at least a very good man - and given that it happens under humans very rarely, that somebody hasn’t his own agenda, it seems to be proof enough, that he was more than a “normal” human!

With all due respect, Cru Legacy & mr. Kole are truly deceived. Mr. Kole shouldn't have the ability to 'use the crystal' or 'levitate' in a different video here on youtube and walk on water. Mr. Kole is correct about Jesus of Nazareth though.

Andre Kole made it very clear in his performances that he had no magical powers. In fact, in one region of the world, there were people who believed he had special powers. His response was to show them how he did certain tricks. One of his favorite lines to use went something like this: Any seven-year-old could do these illusions ... with thirty years of practice. Over his 50 or 60-year career, he often used gimmicks and props like crystal balls and even psychic surgery to disprove New Age lies. Everything about him - his performances and his life - was about pointing people to Jesus.

You take for granted that the miracles were true. Others in Jesus’ time did similar tricks, where those miracles, too? You cannot assume that myth, exaggerations and lies are not part of Jesus’ history just as they are of practically all historical figures.

mark 6:5 & matthew 13:58 - jesus couldn't do any miracles because of other's lack of belief.

You totally missie the concept behind the verses. If a person does not have faith will they GO to Jesus for healing ? Among these people there were these who receive healing . Those who didn't , Jesus " couldn't heal them " because they did not seek Him in order to be healed . Not to mention the disrespect that he went through in his own hometown. We have a saying in my country that many everyday people can relate - -If you have it, he will envy you, if you don't have it, he will chase you away.

I read your article and it really bothered me! You talked about how much equipment that jesus and his disciples would have had to lug with them...you said 3 huge truckloads. I totally disagree as he was not putting on a big show of many illusions and muracles, just ONE per story! Your arguments and reasons why are totally ridiculous....just like christianity! It is all just a system of control .... keep in mind that if you dont accept his "gift" that he loves you so much he will have you burn in hell for all eternity! I dont call that love, it is a threat!

So... I want to tell you, as a full time professional touring illusionist myself, Andre is spot on. Trust me when I say you have no idea what all has to be provided and set up to create what appears to be a simple show. But in the case of something like walking on water- this goes beyond the norm. This would be a mega illusion of incredible proportions. It would be incredibly difficult (if not totally impossible) to pull it off even today in front of real people, waaaaay out on a real lake. In Jesus' day, forget about it. Something like this would have required so much setup that we can't even fathom.

Jesus was not a street magician. His miracles included giving sight to people born blind, healing lepers, and raising the dead. And he often did his miracles in the presence of hundreds and thousands of people. Consider this, the Gospels were written as early as 20 or so years after Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection. That's about the same time span as our present day is from the 911 attacks. Ask anyone who was around on September 11, 2001, and most will be able to tell you exactly what they were doing when they learned the news. The people of the first century weren't idiots. They knew what leprosy was. They knew that when people died they stayed dead. So, when the Gospels were written, there were a lot of people around who could easily have shot down any of the claims made in the Gospels. They could have taken skeptics to Jesus' body, but they didn't. Why? Because the claims about him were true. And don't forget that the disciples were with him when he did his miracles. They would have known if he was faking it or not. And yet every single one of them (except for Judas) spent the rest of his life telling people about Jesus and, in doing so, was beaten, tortured, mocked, and except for John, executed. Over the centuries many men have died for a lie because they believed it was true. But nobody would suffer like the disciples did for a lie knowing it was a lie. All they would have to do is say, "I was wrong," and they'd be set free. Instead, they suffered horribly because they knew the truth and the truth so transformed their lives that they couldn't deny it.
I invite you to take a look at some of the other videos on the Cru Legacy site. There are some, like "Catastrophic Love" that talk about evidence for Christ, but they're the minority. The other videos talk about the difference a personal relationship with Jesus makes in someone's life. Watch "The Untold Story of Black Hawk Down," "Can I Forgive a Murderer?" or "Against All Hope" or "Addicted: The God Drug." Any of these stories, and so many more, show why true Christians are passionate about Jesus.
One last note: Nobody goes to hell because they don't believe in Jesus. They go to hell because they have sinned against a holy God. God is merciful but He is also just. Sin has to be accounted for. The thing is, we're broken people, and our best efforts to pay the penalty for our sins are broken, too. That's why Jesus who was spiritually unbroken offered to take our place and pay the penalty we can't pay. Blaming God because people reject Jesus and go to hell is like blaming a rescue boat because the person in the water refused to get in the boat and ended up drowning. Is it the boat's fault the person drowned? Heck no! The person drowned because they got in water over their head and couldn't swim. The folks in the boat offered to save them. The person in the water didn't take them up on their offer.

Jesus was just a human being like all of us. I can go up to a group of naive people and make them believe I'm God with tricks. same as Jesus did. No one human is any better them any other human. we are all made of the same stuff.
