I have veteran family members and one of them is in South Bend Indiana, on Cottage Avenue. These people will give you there food, time, and whatever they have!!! Their home needs to be renovated to assist my Uncle Richard who is total care. His wife just retired as a school counselor, she has helped so many children, in very difficult situations, I try to log on to these shows but I am rejected. If anyone out there can help them please do so. I Love This story because a lot of veterans are struggling.

My parents had an extremely similar story, from service, to raising 4 kids, to buying a new home in Las Vegas, one of their favorite places in the world, to retire in their 70's. They easily could have been nominated as well for all the things they've done, but my father went to Heaven in 2001 and my mother followed him in 2014. But this story was very gratifying and I am glad to see people like them be recognized and rewarded as best as we regular folks can do. Fox 5 is awesome.

Loved when the guy said hard to stand on red carpet & not cry. It was impossible watching this on utube to not cry. Had to stop it a couple times to get a grip & not miss anything. Several tissues were involved. What a glorious story & photos of this amazing couple, as well as the outpouring of volunteers. Wish I had been there to help. Awesome….just awesome!
