FOX5 Surprise Squad: Teacher Loses Everything in Fire Including Dog, Receives Knight of Surprises!

- A Las Vegas Valley teacher is devastated after a house fire destroys everything she owns and claims the life of her beloved dog, Cooper.
Lauryn Ratigan, a first grade teacher at Marion Earl Elementary in Las Vegas, hid her pain from her 1st grade students but an observant parent learns more and writes the FOX5 Surprise Squad for a help. The Surprise Squad teams up with the Vegas Golden Knights to brighten Ms. Ratigan’s spirits and deliver her a Knight of unbelievable surprises.

You must be a real joy for the people that know you. There is a time and place for everything. This was neither. For an animal lover, you have no compassion and a very ugly heart.

Yust compare the millions of views for "sweet kitten has been rescued" videos to this ones of how our daily food is produced. I want to meet people in their comfort zone, were they live hypocritical and full of lies.

I was lucky enough to be nearby when my house caught fire and was able to get my two dogs out in time. The fire was devastating but if I lost one of my pups I don't know what I would've done.... RIP Cooper and may you have all the bacon in heaven.
When the crowd started chanting cooper I cried again! When they all “awwed” together it showed how much so many people consider their fur babies as real little human babies. I couldn’t imagine loosing everything like that at once.

PUNEET KUMAR i knew this would make me emotional, and the fact that i cried over a dog i never even knew existed until those pictures, i burst into tears immediately.
I just discovered these videos tonight and started binge watching...it's 2:38am right now. My family and I have been in a really..really bad spot for so many reasons the passed couple months and there's no sign of light..yet..but my parents luckily are in a position where they are able to help us through and take the edge off of the struggle for the moment. So, it's extremely amazing that Fox5 is willing to step in for the people that don't have the Mom&Dad that I do.

Losing a pet is hard, we've all hard to say goodbye to them at some point in life, but to lose a pet in a fire is hard.
Someone please give this lady a puppy that broke my heart that she lost her dog sometimes our pets are the only family we have im sure theres a shelter out on the west side of America who has a dog whos just waiting to give this lady some love.💞

This was still a generous gift but u should’ve gotten her a house or an apartment with a dog inside. She lost her dog a house and her heart. She is a great person to hear she’s upset just because she couldn’t supply her kids with good material. She’s already thinking of others before her self.

This was beautiful! I wish she was also given a puppy that’s the same breed to give her her child back. I know it won’t replace cooper, but just to give her that love again. Wow I just get full of happy tears when I see good people that go out of their way to put a smile on someone's face when they are struggling or in need. I myself is so familiar with some of these stories .And it does get hard sometimes. I wish we had a surprise squad here in Shreveport, Louisiana. I love these stories of giving and receiving in name of love thy neighbors. Sometimes I think about the $$ that wealthy people spend on extravagant things, and think my gosh, there are so many people that they could be helping and truly make a difference in lives, with small amounts of $$ they would consider as being nothing but everything to someone like this teacher.

Seeing the picture of Cooper broke my heart. RIP Cooper!! I just wrote yo th er m as nd forgot to tell them besides th he lose if my dog, my sons father passed away a week after my dog even though divorced we had a connection and I lost my best friend to cancer last year all in a year and half. Losing her pet is unbearable especially if that's all you have. Fox 5 you do so many wonderful things for people, as I watch your videos tears run down my face so happy for them. Then I wonder if they can help me. I know so many need help and they can't help everyone. I wish her all the best.
