I might need to pick up Popeye now. You sold me. Also, fun fact! Tokimeki Memorial was written by Iga, and the game he worked on before SotN. Import Saturn games are always cool. Great box dude!
I love Popeye. I grew up watching the cartoons alongside GI Joe, and when my oldest son was born, we watched DVDs of the classic Fleischer cartoons- we still regularly watch the Popeye vs Sinbad episode. I even have an original Popeye arcade cabinet as well as the NES port. I keep meaning to go with my kids to Chester, IL to see all of the Popeye museum stuff, but have not yet done so. Evangelion 2nd Impression is meant to be an additional episode inserted between a couple of episodes of the anime. It's neat in that it has some all new animation from Gainax, and the outcome depends on your decisions/battles. There's a 1st Impression as well. Neither is even vaguely english-friendly, but cool enough for a fan of the show. Is that an original Chuckles on the wall? I recognize the later packaging on the others, but that one looked vintage in the blurry background!
@@SquarePegs nice! I still have a loose one. I only have a couple of carded originals, and they're both versions of Cobra Commander. My favorite has always been Destro. My dad bought him for me at a K-Mart when I was 3, and I still have him in great shape (aside from a broken clasp on his backpack). For the last 35 years, I've put my surviving Joes all over my parents' Christmas tree most years. Attacking angel ornaments, riding rocking horses, playing instruments, and Cobra always kidnaps baby Jesus from the manger, where I put Destro. It's fun to be able to bring my sons to help now!
Great box this month, Jay. Very cool to see the Japanese Saturn games. Don’t expect to see that in the box this month. Awesome video, as always, my friend! Thanks for sharing!
Ekk! Core memory unlocked for me too! I legit forgot all about the Popeye game and I remember really really loving that when I was younger. That probably makes sense since I'm such a huge mappy fan. It's basically mappy. LOL I'm right there with you Jay, on the dating Sim games. I could give two farts about them. I didn't like dating in real life. I don't want to do it in the game. Super cool to add Japanese Saturn games to the mix. I'd be in the same boat with not being able to understand what's going on, but it's just neat to get something we don't get around here and it totally makes sense to try to narrow it down to things you can actually play or make a Japanese friend 😂
I have a Hello Kitty Pez dispenser that I customized for my Christmas tree. It’s really silly and fun. I’m considering getting Popeye for Famicom just because the NES version is slightly pricey… slightly. Fun box this month!
What Mr. Pegs said: "Hello Kitty rules."
What Mr. Pegs REALLY said in his mind: At least it's not an Ecco The Dolphin game.
Loved the Sheamus quote you slipped in there!!!
Thanks for sharing! Glad you enjoyed.
Love that story about Popeye. I still have never played that game along with Burgertime...I know, I'm a bad gamer lol
It's green! 😂 Popeye is great! There is also a "remaster" of the 3 Stooges game on PS1.

Great video! The Stooges, wow. I used to watch them a ton when I was young with my Dad. What a blast from the past!

A much sexier box, even if we can't read Japanese 😉
Virtua Fighter 2, OHHHHH HELLLLLL YEAH!!!
An absolutely mind-boggling port that really should be impossible by all metrics, but by God, they did it

I'm definitely going to check out VGM here soon, great video dude!
Virtua Fighter games are solid! I'm not good at them, but still fun to play.
VGM with another package for Square Pegs
