    Thankyou Francis. Yes, we fall back into the body-mind. I 'surrendered' my 'self' while taking care of my wife when she was on hospice. There was nothing present beyond Love that carried us both to her end. Shortly after she died I wrote (at least my hands wrote) A Mala of 108 short reflections. Here is one: 'Seeing with a heart of Love. Knowing with no mind. Feeling beyond the stars. Without touching, we meet in the immaculate timeless.'

    The mind is projecting a self into the body.

    I find it most simple (if I get triggered out of alignment) to just remind myself that there is only this eternally flowing river of life flowing through me. Just an instant flick of recognition and I'm back to the present moment...the only time there ever is. I do it instantly, it could happen several times a day. 40 or 50 times a day! lol , but it's an instantaneous return to no-self. 😄

    My experience has been the following:When surrendering happened,it was not a decision nor a choice ,it happened by itself i couldn't do anything else than surrender. It was a necessity.ॐ ❤

    Meister Eckhart's Triple renunciation: he who knows nothing, he who wills nothing, he who owns nothing. Thanks F Lucille.

    Not bypassing, soothing the negative feelings that arising, stay with them and actually a very surprising state takes place. Also openness and obedience come to mind.

    Surrender.
    A beautiful concept but the hardest to practice in life. Its crucifixion of the small self till the last drop of ego bleeds out of your body. How many of us can do it ? We won't know till we are faced with a situation beyond our control.
    If you ve ever let go of something/ one that meant the essence of your existence without tears or a sense of loss, total leap of faith, forgiveness for the perpetrator, an aching heart nursed with a lil hope... like free falling from a cliff knowing the divine will catch you... no matter what_ then you know surrender.
    Otherwise let thy will be done is easier said than done.

    "It sounds intens only to the mind" But all we know is mind, and when you want to surrender, you surrender all you know. All I experience is dread when faced with extinction, in this unknown. I'm sorry Francis, it is not easy. This story of dying before daying it is beautiful, but it is not just a walk in a park. When I see this emptiness, this death, all I can do now, is l run like hell. My fear is huge. I congratulate the ones who have had the courage and the willingness the say yes all the way! 🙏

    • @junj0u

      You say “All we know is mind” - perhaps this means that you would benefit from spending more time Knowingly as Being / Abiding in The True Self / etc. - because knowing only the mind would definitely create an entrapment of stress and fear.. Whereas “waking up from being King Lear” [Rupert Spira, i’m assuming you’re familiar with the actor metaphor], would provide all of the rest and safety that you are looking for. What is aware of the huge fear, what is aware of the Running like hell? Awareness, unlimited, lacking nothing.. Not bound to the body because the body is only a group of appearances in it. I hope this might help. ☺️🌸

      Where were you before you were born? Was it scary? You go back to where you came from.
      It will not be a new experience.
      You go back to the place you came out of.

      You are imagining what it is to die before you die, which was first said by J.Krishnamurti if I am not mistaken. The real thing is different from what you imagine. Your fear is in your imagination. Courage is not necessary. It is not something you do but something you see.

    If letting go of everyone and
    everything were a traumatic
    or frightening experience,
    we would dread falling
    asleep at night. Rupert Spira

    Misleading in so far as we absolutely cannot surrender wilfully. It's not something we can do.

    Will? Isn't will power the province of the ego, the doer? Maybe you mean something else?

    • @ZenMountain
      @ZenMountain 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, it is the ego itself who needs to take the "step".

    • @allonszenfantsjones
      @allonszenfantsjones 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes, it is easy to be triggered by words like "will" which in English can conjure a form of "doing". We use the word in reference to addiction and recognize that it is futile to "will" oneself out of a condition when it is much more appropriate to surrender. I also am triggered by "discipline", as though a nun with a ruler were approaching. LOL

    'The triple surrender.' It's just so French, the whole thing. It's so funny. Categories and subdividions, and a lot of words.

    • @annelbeab8124
      @annelbeab8124 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe turn to Jiddu Krishnamurti. Very simple. So simple that some find it hard to get at the start- including myself.
      Surrender is anyway a strange word and often guilt based concept.
