This is a great video, too. I've seen it before, but it's worth watching again. All the information you have there is helpful and makes it much better to understand! Who knows? I may watch it a few times. Excellent video!!!
I am Fredericksbug, VA. This video enlarged my understanding of why I should be using adjustment layers and not the adjustments on the menu as well as how all of this can work together. The issue is always how much time you have to make the "perfect picture". Thanks, Colin
You're a great communicator and a wonderful explainer. Every clip I've seen from you makes it really simple I'm an architect from Portugal and I use photoshop a lot Thank you very much. Keep up the good work!

Another excellent tutorial. Quite a few things I did not know......particularly dragging and dropping adjustments onto another photo. Also did not know you can do so much with shadows and highlights. Well done from the UK.
You have a way of keeping me concentrating and not being lost, really big learning. My Ps is in French, by choice, so I have to translate a little, but your videos are showing all the commands so well, love it all 🤗
Adjustment Layers are what makes Photoshop, to me! I use them all the time! I have to say, I knew these tips. I've been on PS for about 15 years, though. I want to say this. When I was learning PS, I brought in to it some of the 'maneuvers' we used for Explorer, or tried to, at least. If you click and drag, you cover multiples in Explorer. So, I tried clicking and dragging down the layers panels' visibility eyes and, guess what! They all turned off. Did it again and they all turned back on. I also tried a bunch of dragging of layers, both within a doc, and between docs, and discovered that works very nice! It was trying things like this that I learned many of the 'tricks' in PS. Plus, a hell of a lot of reading and watching tutorials by the likes of Colin Smith and company! LOL Best PS education around! Thank you!!
Great video and nice finger picking (now I know that the guitar hanging on the wall is not just a decoration :)). Thanks a lot from your Israeli loyal subscriber.
Great teaching style! I was wondering the difference between Adjustment layers and adjustments. Now I can use them more properly. Oh and I liked the analogy at the beginning of the video.
I'm from Albuquerque. I've been using other programs which I had problems with, so now I'm learning Photoshop. I have a photo in which the foreground grass is too light and too yellow when the rest of the image is adjusted for printing. I need to mask out the rest of the image, reduce the exposure on the grass by 1/2 stop, and reduce the yellow. So, I'm looking for videos that will show how to do this typpe of adjustment layer(s).
Thanks Colin for another great tutorial. I tried downloading the ebook linked several times over a period of time but never get the email to confirm. Is this available in the UK?
Quite a few things I did not know......particularly dragging and dropping adjustments onto another photo. Also did not know you can do so much with shadows and highlights.
I used to be able to erase parts of adjustment layers...now I cant...might I have hit a button I didnt realize? The layer seems locked I cant do anything to it.
This was a VERY useful tutorial. I have been using Photoshop for 3 years and have never even known about the shadow and highlight mode> Thank you so much/ Would love to see more of your video. Also thank you for the FREE download. That was very useful information. In "Trump's" dump Country :(

The blend modes and opacity work, and you can stack adjustments, and you can resuse them as presets.
