I didn't know that Wild Rice was used outside of the Midwest. It's called Minnesota Wild Rice in my neck of the woods. Wild Rice is sacred to Native Americans and it is actually not a true rice but a grass. Wild Rice combines with mushrooms beautifully, Wild Rice and Mushroom Soup is served in many Midwest restaurants. The addition of Wild Rice to dressing makes it more palatable to those who do not like regular "wet bread" stuffing.

Wow - I'm not sure who I love more, you or this stuffing.....of course it's you! No doubt I'm making this ASAP - years ago I worked for a company in Harborside, NJ and worked with Jersey girls every day - you ladies are such queens - thx for the recipe!!
I was always taught stuffing is what you stuff into the bird (or other meat) and dressing is cooked on the side, on its own, NOT stuffed into anything.
Thanks Laura. I think it would have been more effective if you had provided a quick snap shot of the dish before your segment ends. I think for something very different from what you usually make, the shortened ending did not do it justice.
