Big Block 400: Part 1/4 Dyno Testing Begins.

- The 400 build series has finally come to and end with the first series of Dyno tests. This video is about the 10.1/1 Mopar Big Block 400, with stock stroke and Edelbrock Estreet heads. Block and head work was done by @edsmachine93 . Special thanks to @GwatneyPerformance for their great dyno support and Staff.
Part 2 of this dyno Series will include testing the Weiand Tunnel ram and dual Carter Carburetors.

I had a 67 Dodge Charger, with a .509 lift cam. Don't remember what the duration, or lobe spacing, but it idled with a lope, and I was told when I bought it it was putting out at the flywheel 430 horsepower. It had stock heads, hooked headers, and complete 2 and a half exhaust. If we ever meet I will show you a picture of my Charger. I bought it right after I got out of the Marines. In 1976.
Definitely putting some twist on that dyno. Well done 👏

I saw a tunnel ram in the mix. 🍿 I would have liked to see the torque curve with it smoothed at 5, under 3500 RPM. If I remember correctly this is the engine that CCP at 165? 🤓
Good job on this one joe, that is a good strong motor and it looks like it runs real clean on the dyno. you should get some good results with this one. youre really coming into your own as far as quality work.good job man

I guessed way lower, 445hp. Really sorry I doubted your prediction of hitting that 500hp mark. Been following your channel for a couple of years and your work is ALWAYS top shelf and quailty. That 400 sounds really good. You're going to need wheelie bars on that Barracuda !!! Good job. 👍

Oil pressure never dropped below 60, usually closer to 70 hot idle!!

I bought my first RPM dual plane intake from Bob Mazzolini and Jason his employee told me they bench flowed and RPM out of the box and it flowed the same as his ported single plane.

WOW!! I am quite impressed with this build. Those heads are working for sure!! I think I was expecting around 485-490 HP and 520 or so Tq. Man, was I low on HP!! VERY NICE!!!!! You are already seeing what i expect from my 440 and you've only just begun!!! Great build, buddy!!!

@@JustMoparJoe Your very welcome. Such power with mopar. In the 70's we had a 69 roadrunner with 383/torqueflight as the grocery getter that my dad purchased new that year. Miss the car, was a monster. 3.91 gears and just a solid car. we had it up until 1999 when i sold it to help pay for bills due to his declining health.

Good numbers on torque and power. I really like that engine and it's setup. Seems to be jumpin around a little bit on the stand. But as long as your happy with it that's all that matters. Thanks man .
