I was just a kid... And in love with a girl... This song has much meaning to an old man with many regrets. I had the best audio equipment in the school... A whole studio in my bedroom. I had a small shelf system in the head of my bookcase that I can remember this song playing on a central Ohio radio station in the mornings getting ready for work. I miss those days. I gave that system to my dad because he marveled how good it sounded. Sound equipment back then had real quality to it.
Yes great song by former member of The Eagles. I recall it back in July 1982. I was 23 back then, I'm 60 now and I still love it. Now this song was a hit back then but only for a short time because it fell off the top five charts and therefore didn't become a classic. But it's such a great song like various others back then that didn't survive the top charts and it kinda make you wonder why. And around the same time the other former member of the Eagles Glenn Frey had the hit which was a little more successful but still didn't become a classic and I believe it was called "The One You Love" But then there was the other former ember of the Eagles "Don Henley" who made somewhat of a classic with "Kick him when he's up kick him when he's down kick him all around"...He shouldn't be singing songs like that if he's a former member of the Eagles because he's supposed to have a peaceful easy feeling.
RIP Randy. One of the most underrated songs ever

Boy if that opening bit of piano and percussion doesn't sound like an REO Speedwagon song that came out 2 years later...
