@@kellyreider3460 that's not totally true. That's what Henley & Frey said! If you look deeper there are articles stating that Take it to the Limit was part of the regular set at concerts (the site I was on showed the set for the concerts). The night it all ended Randy wasn't feeling well. Leadon left because of dealing with "the gods", Henley & Frey, which is why Randy left. Being a band mate with those 2 was like being in an abusive marriage/relationship. The original Eagles was the best and Randy had a voice of an angel!!

I don’t disagree on the birds, Buffalo Springfield, and flying burrito Brothers. By the flying burrito, Brothers and the birds played straight country on their albums. There was very little rock Poco. I agree with the original post that they were the founders of country rock.

It’s been proven that the founders of country rock was Rick Nelson & The Stone Canyon Band, who Randy played bass guitar for, & sang back up for. Listen to their album, live from The Troubadour ‘69. You’ll see.

I'm a long-time Poco fan. This is special to have Meisner playing again with Rusty and George. I remember thinking how great this song was the first time I heard it on the radio. So glad for them to have another hit as they deserved so many that just bubbled under being so. I think I actually resented The Eagles at the time for taking Timothy, but who could blame him for the opportunity of a lifetime? I have just most of the early Poco on LP still though streaming makes it easier I still enjoy the physical album art and notes. One of the finest bands that ever blended country with rock, folk, and pop. It makes me feel joy to know there's still a lot of us, even new folks, listening in 2024.

Not so rare, Randy rejoined the band for their reunion album, Legacy, and the subsequent tour. He was again a full member of Poco for that period of time. Richie left the Legacy reunion tour early and returned to his ministry in CO. If you look at the Legacy singles videos, he doesnt look very into it. He looks more joyful in concert videos since 2008 or so, including the Buffalo Springfield reunion shows in 2010. @@erikrichards5072

@@TheSjuris Actually some form of POCO existed continuously for around 15 years and about 12 albums. This was their getting back together album. I saw the early version a couple times and a touring nostalgia version once in the late 2000s. They aren't in the hall of fame because of ignoramuses who control who gets in and choose to include people and groups who have nothing to do with rock of any kind.

Had a crazy, coincidental encounter with singer Rusty Young here back in April 1983, when Poco played Portland, Oregon's Euphoria Tavern. Headed to the men's room before the show started to get rid of a beer, and ended up at a urinal next to Rusty. Got to thank him for his brilliant pedal steel playing on their 1975 cover of Steely Dan's first single, "Dallas." He just laughed when I told him I bought the "Head over Heels" album just so I could play "Dallas" whenever I wanted.
