Everyone can have and do have a do-over x get some rest and catch up when you’re ready x you deserve a break, go easy on yourself x burning yourself out in the first week helps know one x😊
I can relate to everything you're doing! I love the idea of that spreadsheet, although keeping it trim could be an issue. It's so helpful to have transition time, too - *especially* when you're managing yourself. After switching from host-mode, I expect my first move is zombie pick-up (any work I can do automatically), and doing nothing; scrolling or staring at the walls. That's part of my job, making sure I've built in a bit of nothing to recharge.
Even in corporate work: because I am in Home Office I tend to stop the time for every 5 minutes I am not actively working on my tasks. But when I am not in Home Office I still walk around to colleagues or open the window or tidy the kitchen in between - it’s still work because it helps me being more focused later and to not burn out in order to be the most productive self every minute.
😊 you talking about how you like to be all organized and have a plan for the new year and want your house all clean for it 😁 i am not wired that way. I always am impressed with how your brain is. You should pat it on the head and thank it. My new year is usually me thankful that the last one is over. 😂 Well definitely the past several years were a lot of crap. I like the freah starts. New year. Begining of spring. Summer. Fall after kids get settled in and the forms are all filled out and turned in.
Things I am not fond of. Last month of school (may). Back to school. After Thanksgiving - Christmas. Also don't like any thing like vacations leading up to it where I have to pack and remember stuff. Or events that have a lot of external expectations or planning on my part or responsibility like a wedding my kids are in as an example. Basically anything in general with planning, responsibility with consequences, and expectations of others. Really hard for me and I get overwhelmed the more things add on.
Lol. I have munched my way through most of the Christmas junk food. Last night I ate cottage cheese and salad. It remains to be seen, how long this phase lasts. I have purchased an exercise machine and, so far, I have an eleven day streak on it. I'm not sure how long that will last, either. Happy New Year!
I did the same this year except I was visiting my parents. Decided to give myself a week off after I can home and start fresh with my usual New Year Routine of tidying and planning on the 8th. Best thing I could have done for myself. 😊
I think I prefer the with-music version, and that's because I tend to do something else while I watch/listen so I don't look at the screen much while the video is on. For that purpose, it's a nice audiological marker for me to know I'm working alongside you. I do, however, really appreciate there not being any music while you talk, and the music sections being in the background (so not too loud). There's youtubers where you have to turn down the volume in the sections with music, that is no bueno.
Yes, I think I'll add in some music but keep the volume pretty low so it's more background music and you can still hear the natural sounds. The best of both worlds, hopefully.
Happy New Year! It's funny because the music version is outperforming this one in terms of how long people are watching, and yet I'm getting way more comments on this one. 🤷
Wishing you all a Happy New Year. Delighted you had your parents for Christmas and that you enjoyed your time with them. I’m also glad you mentioned that all the decluttering you’ve done over the years has paid off and it was an easier task to clean up. Jovie was really watching your every move with her toys. I haven’t done New Years resolutions in a long time so I’ve changed the wording this year to new patterns and will only do one when one is implemented e.g. wash up after dinner. Hope the flights weren’t delayed any more after the 2 hours. Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️👏💪👍🙏💐🐕🦺
Clean up is now a MUCH quicker task. Still lots of decluttering to do but I'm amazed at how far I've come! Flight ended up being delayed 2 hours and 40 minutes, but they still made their next flight in time, and then ended up arriving into Dublin almost an hour early.
Firstly: Good for you focusing on time with your family while they were there! 💗👏 That matters much more than the things piling up, that can be sorted any time. Secondly: Another pat on the back for prioritising some (self) recharge time! ... As for the "little bit aspirational but realistic" remark, how about that course-correcting 2degrees at a time approach? Otherwise I highly recommend - to anyone - (re?)reading Gretchen Rubin's "Better Than Before" book, and finding the strategies which resonate most with you 😊 Love and best wishes from G & I 😘
Yup, I've been all about the baby steps lately. Still have big goals but taking them one day at a time instead of trying to change everything overnight. I'm learning! 😂 A very happy new year to you and George!
I understand. My college kiddos are home for January term and I’m allowing my house to be semi cluttered for now.
Enjoy your time with them! Clutter can soon be cleaned up.

All good here. 😁
18:00 Discombobulated 😂 I love how you use this in your everyday language 🎉
Such a good word that isn't used nearly enough. 😂

Those buffer times are so important. My word of the year is “pause”. I want to take a moment to reflect before rushing to the next thing.

Yes, little breaks are essential for topping up the batteries.

It definitely depends on the event. My husband plans all our holidays, thankfully, because I hate that.

Gotta start somewhere! Well done!
Hope you had a lovely visit with your family.
I did, thank you. 💖
@@HowToGYST yay! ☺️
I love the way Jovie is checking up on you and where you are putting all her stuff !! Happy new year xx
She’s my constant companion.

Yay! It's a lovely little reset, isn't it? I wasn't sure it would work but it totally did!

😂
Watched both versions. Came back to watch this video and actually prefer the one without music. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year and all the best for you and your loved ones! Should have put this first but Jovi was way tooooo lovely!
She does NOT like it when I wash her stuff. 😂
Understandable; now she has to do all the work of scenting and making her own again. Oh, hoomans, you will never learn 😄😄😄
She'll thank me when she doesn't get some terrible disease. 😂
😊👍🏼 Happy New Year!
And the same to you, Phoebe!
thank you.
Joviiiii!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
The star of the show. ⭐️ 😂
I loved the one without the music. I looked until the end… Music one just a tiny bit!
Thanks for the feedback, Eva!
Jovie and her cuddly toys!! 😂
Very distressing to be parted from them and then have them returned with a strange smell. 😂
@@HowToGYST 😉
If you go with the Gregorian calendar, its not New Year until Jan. 14!
😉
Yes! Your New Year can be when you need it to be.😂
Absolutely! I think I'll need one on a regular basis. 😂
