At a train station, 3am, can see 2 miles straight down the railway line, did not see, hear, nor feel the train traveling at about 40mph with no lights until it began to pass me. And i’m hyper vigilant. Something i’ll never forget.

That one at poole shopping centre towards the quay always give me the shivers. Dont know how many times I have seen people try to beat the barriers even thought there is a bridge going over it as well. Absolutely nuts.
People simply don't know that a train needs several hundred meters to stop. An express train even needs around 1 to 2 kilometers. That's not comparable to a car or truck. If one of them gets hit, there's nothing left to do. People are careless or just plain stupid, trying to cross the tracks when the light is red and the barrier is closed. Their own lives don't seem to be worth anything. The train driver is the one who suffers most.
