Cartier Love Cuff 1 yr Review

- This is a 1 year review of the Cartier Love Cuff (original width). It covers pros, cons, the deciding factors that I used when making the purchase and available options. I believe that the Love cuff is a great option for those of us who do not know if they can wear the beautiful an iconic love cuff 24/7. There were only 1-2 of these videos when I bought my cuff in Feb 2020 and I relied extensively on a wonderful TH-camr's review before my purchase: Lux Purse Love. At the timing of uploading this video, I haven't decided if my next Cartier Love purchase will be a cuff or full bracelet - the cuff has a lot of advantages but now I think I could sleep in the full bracelet (after some trial nights in my cuff). This video also shows wear and tear after daily use of 10 months and then some 14 month photos at the end. Prices were as of 1Q21 and were pulled from the Cartier US website. Next time, I will also try to get additional countries' pricing.

I have the open cuff since one year and it is one of my best luxury purchases . The fit is awesome, it is still shining since I can easily take it off when I need so it not scratched heavily like the closed one . Just love love it

Thank you so much for this video! I have been thinking about the love cuff for a while now and it is so hard to find any good videos about it online. There are a million for the regular love bracelet. You also bring up some great points about why the cuff would be a good option especially for someone like me who also likes to wear nail enhancements and would NOT like to sleep with a heavy bracelet on! VERY HELPFUL review!

But the price delta is significant. Hi, this version of cuff is beautiful! How has the wear and tear on the diamond held up ? Does it snag ? Do you find you have to clean it often to keep the sparkle ? And one last question… lol…. Do you think the one diamond is worth the extra cost if you were to buy it over ? Thanks
Hi! Great questions. The setting is very secure and there's virtual no wear at all on the diamond or the setting because of the design. I think it's closest to a bezel set and it's slightly inset a bit. I don't think you could have a more protective diamond setting design, hence why I never worry about the diamond. There is no snagging at all on the diamond - because of the design, I think I can say that it's virtually impossible. But, the cuff itself can get tangled up a bit with other bracelets that aren't bangles or that aren't very stiff (like my VCA alhambra bracelets but my Tennis Bracelet doesn't snag or get tangled up at all because it's more structured) .
I don't have to clean it up very often at all but it does always have extra sparkle after a cleaning. I clean it up maybe 1 to 2 times a month. And not because I think it looks dull just because I will remember how much better the gold looks after a cleaning.
So, I'm not sure about if I would buy with the diamond again but maybe. Currently , the price difference is 900 in yellow and 950 in white gold . Let me explain. When I first bought it, it's because I was positive that within the year, I would be also getting the white gold version. The white gold version looks steely gray and not bright white unless it has a diamond in it because Cartier doesn't rhodium plate their white gold in the Love collection without diamonds. Also, usually I think they make the bracelet a little thicker to accommodate the diamond setting and I wanted them to stack perfectly. If I decide to add the white gold one, I'll be very happy I got this one with the diamond but it might not have been necessary if I go with a different bracelet (Currently really eyeing the white gold clash, it's stunning and design is fascinating. )

What you mentioned about it getting snagged with other bracelets I hadn’t thought about. I have one of those cape cod bangles with the gold ball and a David Yurman 18k gold cable with the small diamonds going around the domes and is also thin… both are 3mm. Wonder if tangling would be an issue now / if they would look out of place stacked with the cuff
@@brkfstinbed no problem! I don't have any issues with stacking with any bangles but it bugs me a lot with "softer " bracelets. So much so, that I don't wear them on the same side very often anymore. I just looked up both your bracelets (which are very pretty by the way 😍) and I doubt you would have a tangling issue. I would definitely bring to the store when you try on though, because I'm not sure how it will stack. I just get crazy when something doesn't look like with what i had in my head 😆. I'm so glad it helped you! I would get a 16 if I were you. Cartier makes the full bracelet, starting at a size 15, but the smallest love cuff is a 16. I also visited the Cartier boutique earlier today (trying to beat a price increase) and asked again about the cuff sizing (since I may add the white gold later) and my SA told me that they always recommend customers to size up with the cuff. It will rotate on you some but it will not fall off ( I also went up 3 cm from a 15 cm wrist to an 18 cm cuff). If you can go to the store, it would be optimal because I don't know how much the rotating around occasionally will bother you. For any smaller size, you would have to convert to a full bracelet, unfortunately. But if you want the cuff, a 16 should certainly work for you. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Another question, what size is your actual wrist in cm? And what size cuff did you go with.

Sorry it took so long to respond, I wanted to come home and measure my son's wrist. I have a 16cm wrist now and I wear a size 18. I should've went for 1 size smaller but I wouldn't have felt comfortable starting that way.
My son put my cuff (18) on the other day and he could actually easily put it on but it wouldn't have been comfortable to wear all day for sure. His wrist is 17.5 cm.
So going up 1 size might work but I think 2 cm would be much easier to start with. If you are used to rigid cuffs and getting them on and off, 20 would be fine too imo. They do offer a size 21 (or at least currently on their website showing as available on the No diamond versions)

@@diaryofjasper3101 that's great! I hope one of them will work out for you ! One other thing I've found since filming this, is that the cuff doesn't stack as well with soft bracelets (like vca alhambra), they can get tangled up together. It still works fine but I do untangle it 3 or 4 times a day.

Hi! Does this ever come close to coming off your wrist? I heard someone said there’s a risk of it sliding off. I find it hard to believe it does tho haha
I've never had that happen. I could maybe see that if someone lost significant weight but you would also immediately know it. The opening is very small and not flexible and you feel it every time you pull it off or put it on. I've had mine for almost 2.5 years now and maybe not worn it 10 of those days, and it's never come close.

Does the cuff rotate easily and the opening becomes facing up?
Definitely not. If sized correctly, this will not be a worry at all. Hope this helps!

Sizing is very confusing for me….Could you tell me what is the size of your bracelet and your wrist ?
Sure. My wrist is 6 inches or 15 cm. When I tried on the full bracelet, I wore a size 17. In the cuff, I tried on a 17 and 18. Both fit but the 17 was hard to get off (because I wasn't used to it) so I went up a size. The SA wanted me to get the 17 because she thought I would be happier with that one long term but she did mention that almost everyone sizes up 1 when they get the cuff. That's how I ended up with an 18. I hope this helps!

How much it is in your country?
Hi Ralph, 👋 the yellow gold with 1 diamond Love Cuff is now $5850 USD. No diamond version is 4950 in yellow or rose. White is 5300 with no diamond. That's the updated pricing that went into effect June 30, 2021. Hope that helps you
How secure is the cuff?
I find it very secure. It does rotate on me sometimes but I never worry about it falling off. And now that I've had it almost 2 years and worn it nearly everyday, I can truthfully it's never fallen off, or come close to it.

@@bobmemer9062 wow, you really mean some activities! I have worn it golfing (ok, does top golf count? Lol). I would not wear it skydiving or surfing (although I can do neither) because I would be afraid of it getting caught on something, not coming off. I have worn it skiing and thought nothing of it but it was buried under many layers, I'm sure.

Love cuff or nail?
I think it all depends on what you want the bracelet for. If you want to be a little different and a conversation starter, I would pick the JUC. If you want an everyday signature piece with great style, I would pick the love. I don't have the JUC but will be adding one soon, but I wouldn't trade my love cuff for it. This is just my opinion though. Hope this helps!
