    You literally look and sound like me building my garden room! 😆 I didn’t film it because Im not a tradesman and was just copying TH-cam videos but I love how you are honest about your knowledge & efforts 👍

      Cheers! TH-cam is the source of most of my research and inspiration, but no one shows the amount of time spent pulling your own hair out trying to work things out!

    Inspirational. Without doubt the most work I've ever seen you do.

    Great work it looks great..testament that anything can be accomplished without/little experience. Thanks for sharing the build with us including the ‘school boy’ errors!

    You've achieved a fantastic build and the effort to produce the top quality videos hasn't gone unnoticed! Getting your insight into what's working well and what you might have done differently is really helpful so thanks!!
    I really like your design whereby the load is carried through the walls directly onto the foundations with a floating floor rather than the master floor plate carrying the walls like in a lot of other videos. It just feels more solid. Looking forward to the next vid and your thoughts on ventilation. Big Thanks

      Thank you! My dad gets the credit for the base design really, but it does feel very solid. Thanks for watching!

    Put a vapour barrier over wall insulation and roof space as it will go black if your Plastetering?

    Don’t screw the end of board up until you have slotted other t and g in as it will be a lot easier to fit ?

    • @AlsDIYFollies
      @AlsDIYFollies  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I discovered this on the penultimate board!

    Hi looks good, do you any breather bricks in the block base? Just to allow air under joists and stop them sweating

    • @AlsDIYFollies
      @AlsDIYFollies  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I didn’t use air bricks as such due to the slightly unusual dimensions, but I left roughly three inch gaps on two sides of the block wall which are meshed over, that allow airflow through the under-floor space.

      @@AlsDIYFollies ah good must have missed that. Worth keeping an eye on them, bugs may use them and impede the air flow if they get built up with debris and such.

    Somebody has probably already asked this question but can you tell me how much this will cost

    • @AlsDIYFollies
      @AlsDIYFollies  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably somewhere in the region of £7k-£10k by the time it’s finished, with a big part of that being the bifold doors and the cladding.

  • @dazzacossie

    How Much did the build cost ?

    • @AlsDIYFollies
      @AlsDIYFollies  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’ll probably work out in the region of £7k-£10k, with a big chunk of that being the doors. I’m reluctant to work it out too finely in case the wife finds out!

    • @dazzacossie
      @dazzacossie 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AlsDIYFollies Great job . Ano I'm thinking when I build mine the doors will be the biggest chunk . That's it if the wife new she would probley be thinking how many cloths she could have bought with all that money . But just think how much you'll have payed for it if you had someone build it 👍

    I'm thinking of building my own garden play room, for the kid's in wet weather, would you be interested in selling your nail 🔨

    • @AlsDIYFollies
      @AlsDIYFollies  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d definitely recommend getting one, makes things so much quicker and easier, probably the best tool purchase I’ve made! I’ve got plenty more work lined up for mine once I’ve finished this, got to build a chicken coop, a little kids den at the other end of the garden, a log store, and whatever else the wife demands in the meantime!
