left my truck door unlocked and someone tried to steal my F150 . The ignition cylinder was all smashed up inside just like the one in your video. I watched your video and it took me about 20 minutes to get it out.i think i'll let the dealership recode the new cylinder. Thanks William i saved about 200 dollars. God bless!!

Thanks for viewing my channel. Yes, your new ignition lock cylinder will come with all necessary parts in a kit (not assembled). It will contain instructions on how to assemble the cylinder. If you follow them, you will not need a locksmith. However, if you're short on time, and haven't performed this operation before; I strongly recommend having your locksmith assemble the kit for you.
Thanks again for viewing my channel.

I have 01' Ford F150. Ignition switch is hard to turn on and getting worst, have to wiggle in/out and back/forth till its happy and turns. Had new key made from door key (non-transponder key) which was in better shape, worked a little better for a while but is getting harder to start each day.
Can I pull cylinder, insert key and be able to tell which pins aren't in correct position due to key being worn?

2 things. Putting the ball bearing in is a pain! Also removing the ignition without a key, is probably the least fun I've had in my locksmithing career. Not really. But just sayin. It's tough!

I had a similar situation with a 96 Mustang. I replaced the cylinder with a keyed unit from NAPA. Ignition works fine with the new key and lock. The new key won't go even part way into the door or trunk locks. Do they use different types of keys? I was going to change out the leaflets in those locks to match the new key, but the new key won't go in to start that procedure.

@tomn160 Thanks for viewing my channel. Some situations are more critical than others. First you have to verify that you have ALL components that connect between the Ignition lock cylinder and the Housing, where the gear rack that drives the ignition switch mates with the pinion gear that attaches to the ignition lock cylinder. If you are not familiar with the required components, please consult with your local Locksmith. I don't want to help create a hazard. Thanks again for watching.
