A cousin of mine who tends to anger easily once got partial face paralysis because of uncontrolled and pent up anger; her doctor told her that although she should control her emotions, she needed to release them. Fortunately, after a few weeks she was fine but it was definitely a lesson to all of us. Glad you’re okay now.

Thanks for sharing. It’s strange, how unwell, stored anger can make us feel. Glad you were with fellow students who could help you during this scary time. For me, stored bereavement, has been a problem. Many different emotional upsets can take us by surprise and be difficult to release. Take care everyone and enjoy a good life 😊

Thanks for sharing, Im trying to learn as much as I can about accupressure and the meridians. I was under the wrong impression that AP helps with minor ailments which it does beautifully. Thanks for highligting the fact that these points should be approached with the utmost respect and care as they are Very powerful and not just a quick fix for a discomfort. thank you.

I find this story quite fascinating! As an acupuncture student, we’ve begun practicing needling techniques on acupoints. Notably, the Gallbladder (GB) channel is internally and externally linked with the Liver, which is traditionally associated with emotions like anger and irritability. As acupuncturists, we must be careful and cautious to avoid causing a pneumothorax during treatment. Stories like these are a great aid in remembering the unique characteristics of each acupoint. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Yes, interesting. I am grateful to you for sharing this. I have a lot of stored anger. I tried the points while you were talking, but stopped when you revealed what had happened to you. I definitely felt something rising up in me, but I am very sick in any case. This is a good lesson for me, because I could be stirring up other meridian points. The take home point for me is that a little knowledge really can be a dangerous thing.

I think it was the elbowing that was too much 😅

Very interesting story Yasuko. I'm glad that you were able release all of that anger! I'm pressing my gb 21 right now and although it hurts my vision is still ok. It hurts in a good way though.

Wow! That is amazing! I am going through a great deal of emotional and physical pain for years. Keeping it surpassed. I do not know how to find a good massage therapist or acupuncturist who understands how to release such sadness and emotional anguish. Thank you so much for such insightful videos.

Most people (including those without any neck pain) will have some tenderness in the GB21 point (upper fiber of trapezius). It sounds like you had a vaso-vagal reaction which can involve a drop of cerebral blood pressure causing the transient vision loss. It happens occasionally during acupuncture (or jabbing an elbow into a painful trigger point). Your friend was wrong. You probably would have recovered faster if you had been put into supine with legs elevated.

As with all things, treat with respect & caution - lesson learned.
Thank God you followed the prompting of your body & were able to finally release the pent-up negative emotions. No one is worth losing one's health or life over like that.
Thank you for sharing this story with us., Yasuko. Acupressure is, indeed, a very powerful tool. 🤗

Did you find a release afterwards? Many don't realize the trama that our bodies can retain until that trigger point in massaged. This is something I have been exploring recently and how to release it. Thank you!!

A good lesson on why you should feel your feelings, however intense they are. Let them move through you, dont trap them inside you.

A relationship with God is eternal and He never fails you. He's the best friend, and guide one can ever have. Every other relationship is either dissatisfying or terminated by time and so ultimately illusory.
