- Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury Darren Jones confronted Chancellor Jeremy Hunt on crony PPE contracts that still have not been named in the public domain.
The Government has written off £10bn on unusable, overpriced, or undelivered PPE since the beginning of the pandemic.

Darren Jones is possibly the best MP in parliament at the moment
Every time I've seen him on a select committee he's impressed me and held people to account as he should, I really hope he can provide candid answers when he is held to account if Labour win at the election (if it ever gets called).

Hunt says they took drastic action but there were reputable companies waiting to provide equipment at lower prices and the tories ignored them in favour of tory friends and families at higher prices

The VIP Lane PPE scandal shines a spotlight on the mainstream medias bias towards the Tories because it's one of the biggest government scandals in UK history and barely gets any media coverage.

It doesn’t take much to guess why that is the case. Just look at how MSM coverage is on Tory and Labour government. Completely differently. Media bosses are all conservatives so no surprises there and journalists will kiss the backside of their editors and their agendas to keep their jobs rather than honest independent journalism which is few and far between. It’s emerging more now due to social media platforms so hopefully legacy media will die out eventually over time and bring power to the real truth. We can only hope!

The way they can do this is to get more staff, give them the money to investigate criminality. I hope they go for it. The ppe is just one part, there is also the failed track and trace and at leasg one company who were paid despite not even fulfilling their contract

This is about the PPE I had to wear in the crisis which was rubbish but how about all of the money given to Dido Harding for the equally useless track and trace. Only less than half of the money given was spent so where has the rest gone?

The NHS has professional procurement teams that knew what was required and had all the contacts required with established PPE firms all they needed was a budget to work to.. as it was the Cabinet office was given an impossible task whilst being pushed by MPs to accept bids from their mates with shell companies established overnight to launder the cash… and provide overpriced and often defective or inappropriate PPE or nothing at all. As with every other enquiry any investigation will run on for ever until the evidence is lost just like with Saville … and then ‘lessons will be learned’ or not.. would it not be wonderful if one day the guilty were held to account…
Bent ,why didn't the government go directly to companies who made ppe, simples and save money instead of splashing money around friends to buy lavish cars and big cigars and yachts

I watched the select committee interviews. Long-established NHS companies couldn't get sign off on 100000 ppe contracts. Yet a fund manager did. No experience of supplying ppe. Tory party has lost any decency.
