Congratulations guys!... I had been researching biochar production for 2 years and this is the best unit I have seen. I had a hard time finding professional units like this one with clever designs and simple to use. The closest I got was from Ukraine, but I had to use audio translators for the video feeds. If you ever plan to share the design, please don’t hesitate to send it to me. Thanks for uploading this video!
rather than heating water, use the waste heat in the flue stack to pre-heat your combustion draft, which will increase your heat load per unit of fuel burnt. the same principle is used in cupola furnaces. i'd also suggest NOT cooling and condensing the syn-gas, just feed it back into the firebox hot and "dirty", which allows more complete combustion of the volatile byproducts, as well as additional "passive" heat load where it does good, while also eliminating condensate effluent which contains such substances as methanol. great prototype, but don't try to get it to perform too many tasks, use the byproducts to increase efficiency, not "gee-whizzery", lol.
When feeding the syn-gas back into the burn chamber hot and "dirty" your missing out on the wood vinegar which is probably more valuable than then charcoal itself ;)
How many Kg of wood did you feed to the retort ? how many hours did it take to make charcoal ? How many kg of firewood did you burn? Please answer.....
How do you prevent escape of and explosions from volatile organic compounds escaping from the heated wood? ... I mean gases similar to syngas. How do you prevent wind mobilization of the char dust and how do you add the biochar to the soil with minimum dust generation?

Thats a neat build. You could replace the waste wood fire with a tlud gasifier To produce char as you fire the rhetort.
Good afternoon! How much is your equipment and you can find out more information about the presence of tubes on the back of the furnace, for what they are used

A big shout-out from Schulenburg Texas.

What brand of furnace for the production of biochar you purchased in Ukraine?
It was just a generic build. I could upload a picture if you need it...
Upload a photo, please. I'll check it out.
Sorry, I am not sure how to upload pictures into the chat. Is it through here?

The byproduct, wood vinegar, is a marketable output, worth as much or more than the char, depending on the original biomass the char is made from.

Good thinking there, I have this exact same idea.
The TLUD I already have, just need to build a large retort now.
Perfect . How much does it cost and how can I buy to receive in Brazil?

Dear. I am interested to learn about your mobile retort. Are they for sale?
Are you able to recover bio-oil and / or wood vinegar?
GREAT JOB MY MERRY OLD ENGLAND .SURE WOULD LIKE TO PROMOTE THOS IN CENTRAL AMERICA. Will get in touch soon.
So you built a mobile retort, then had a load of firewood DELIVERED TO YOUR LOCATION? I'm confused.
I think they just testing the concept before actual field trials 😊
Fantastic effort. Is this effectively using rocket stove technology?
I wondered if a rocket stove retort existed.
Thanks
Yes the Hookway retort is driven by a rocket stove
Thanks for your reply. This is beautiful.
How much hot water could this potentially heat?
I have no idea as I did not make a Hookway retort
