And this is why you never trust a disconnect! Great video Rick
Thanks Zac!
Great job keeping yourself safe. I can see a lot of people missing that.
I'm just glad it wasn't our electricians. But at least we caught it. Thanks for checking it out👍👍
I love correcting sparkies work!
Like you said : and they're worried about us wiring things up 😅
Reminds me of a couple months ago , my company insisted on hiring a so called electrician to replace bus bars and stuff like that on a chiller , the dude messed things up so bad I had to call my manager and tell him : " yeah I'm not starting this thing up until the job gets re-done from the start , no way I'm commissioning that sh*t show " 😂
Bingo. Boom... drop the the hammer 😁👍👍
I keep watching, you teach, I learn. Rinse and repeat! Great job!! I appreciate all the great content 👊🏻
Thanks to much🙏🤜🤛👍👍
Good selection of calls. I honestly like the soft background music you've added. Enough to fill in the dead air without distracting in any way.
Good catch on the electrical SNAFU as well. Put 240 on a 120 device and you'll have a bad day.
Surprised it lasted as long as it did!
That was actually a performer practicing in the background, that wasn't a track that I added 🤭 but thanks for the compliment. 👍👍
thanks for sharing.I would cut and check capillary before quoting the compressor.
We replace the capillary tube every time we replace the evaporator. That's why we don't mess with it at that time.
Nicely done Rick. As always
Good job Rick. You win some you lose some.
Very true!
thorough troubleshooting and well explanation for the newbie like me. Thanks for the video.
🤜🤛👍👍🙏
Great troubleshooting Rick
That is very unusual for a hoshi plate to do that. but you nailed it.
That's what happens when you use Manitowoc cleaner in a Hoshi machine. And vise a versa when you use Hoshi cleaner on a nickel plated plate.
Great job 👍👍👍
Nice catch on that electrical screw -up ... Your vids are always interesting and educational ... Thx for helping the young'ens ...
🤜🤛👍👍
Very nice
Thank you!
Good video 👍 buddy
Thanks Jeff! 👍👍
Why would they call you to fix a Pepsi cooler when Pepsi does it for free ? Unless it’s a stolen cooler, lol
Pepsi gives these stores the coolers if they purchase the drinks from them, after a certain amount of time the cooler is there's to keep.
@@HVACRSurvival around here if you buy pepsi products, they are responsible to maintain the equipment, but you cant have coke products in there as well. Thats the catch.
💪👍🇺🇸❄ nice troubleshooting. Gin n juice baby!!
😁😉👍👍
On jobs like that last compressor, where you put in a new cap only to find the compressor is dead. What do you do with the cap? Do you take it back and put the old one back in, or do you bill the customer for it?
I put it back on the truck. There's nothing wrong with the capacitor that's why I don't destroy the box until I'm completely done and even then I use it to make sure I get a replacement. Not every company is a bunch of shysters out there. 😁
That’s what they get for stealing that cooler , Pepsi would swap it out for free.
Great Video. Thank you for sharing. What's selenoid ? and what's selenoid does in HVAC-R
I don't understand the question, are you asking what does the solenoid do? If so, the solenoid stops the refrigerant flow when the thermostat is satisfied causing the refrigeration system to pump down and shut off.
@@HVACRSurvival Thank you. How do we know if selenoid is bad and need to replace new one ? how to do diagnose selenoid ?
If it's powered and not opening or it's restricted then it's bad
Does this walk in cooler has 2 solenoids or just one and what is thermostat doing if there is only one solenoid since that defrost timer kills the power to the solenoid that you rewired ? Great video Rick. Cheers
It only has one solenoid, the defrost clock sends power to the thermostat, the thermostat sends power to the solenoid. Whether the thermostat is satisfied or the defrost clock goes into defrost the result is the same, the solenoid is de-energized the refrigerant system continues to run until the suction pressure drops down low enough that the low pressure switch breaks power to the contactor shutting the system off.
Thanks for answer. Was confused that defrost timer just controls solenoid by condensor but now its perfectly clear. Cheers
Can’t find 175/300 volt transformer for my Anny. Can you point me to the right places to look for one?
I'm not sure where you're going to get that. All I have is the schematic.
Thanks anyway.
😂 why does it say use bare hands no gloves in In machine that seems unsanitary? Nice work tho man! What type of fungus or mushroom is growing In that drip pan of that Pepsi cooler? I don’t do refrigeration mostly residential HVAC just curious…that’s bizarre looking?
The ice machine was in a factory where the employees weren't mindful🤦🏻. Some people just don't think😳. I'm not sure what the heck that thing was in the pan, it looked like it was man made but was likely some growth 🤣.
they probably have on work gloves full of nasty things, etc. in which case clean hands would be better than filling the ice bin with whatever.
Bingo
not sure if you picked up on it BUT.... That Paragon Timer was a 120 Volt defrost timer on a 220V circuit. Im suprised it ran at all. The electrical issues went far beyond the disconnect. The point to reiterate should have been to match the voltages when you replace equipment, not with what was there before, but rather what do I have as a power supply. I do like your videos.
I'm not sure you understood that I was pointing that out? It was a 230 volt circuit and that's what the condenser runs on and that's what the clock should have been. Other than the clock motor being the wrong voltage there's no difference between the two different defrost clocks. The mechanical gearing and the switches are exactly the same.
@@HVACRSurvival willthe switch8ng work, sure... but the clock won’t.
@@HVACRSurvival l know, it still kills the component.
