  • Former AC/DC and master raconteur Mark Evans talks about his time in the legendary band and his new book Dirty Deeds.
Mark Evans might've only been Australia's greatest hard rock band AC/DC for two years - from 1975 to 1975 - but they did things differently back then. He appeared on landmark albums T.N.T., Let There Be Rock, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and the international version of High Voltage and lived and rocked alongside icon Bon Scott and the boys, touring England and Europe as well as joining the band for their infamous Countdown debut.
He has told his amazing stories in a new book, aptly titled Dirty Deeds, and tells some of the tales of debauchery in the Noise11 studios.

What a lovely, profound man he has become- navigating life’s challenges with a great attitude. I will listen to his bass parts with even more affection. 🔥

To me, Mark is as much a part of ac DC as any of the others, doesn't matter what Angus thinks.

Good on you, Mark. Read your book recently, great read thank you. I remember back in 76 or 77 i went to see Finch, i believe on a Sunday night somewhere in Melbourne. End of the gig Owen says launching our first album party at our place all welcome. So I rock up, I'm 16 or 17 at the time and here's you former AC/DC man handing me a bottle of beer at the door as you did with all who came. Amazing times

He got treated pretty badly by Angus and Malcolm. The guy was a big part of the early years of AC/DC and for the Young brothers to have his induction into the RnR Hall of Fame in 2003 removed was a slap across face for Mark Evans. I'm glad he got a big payday for the money and royalties that were owed to him.

This is the bottom line...when Mark evans replaced the bailey dude,he gave it that groove that angus & malcolm were searching for..and actually gave the band that groove that lasts till today
