I met young Mr Evans at a wild teen party across the road from where I lived in Toorak. Of all the kids there, he was the only one that had a clue musically and at that point, early 1972, was playing an SG copy bass. I had just turned 19 and he was probably 16.
I'd like to meet him and see him play sometime. He has obviously had a succefull career. He's certainly made a good living doing what he loves to do. Because he is good.
Mark, good interview. Huge fan; love the book. '74 Jailbreak is an EP as noted in the interniew released in the US/Canada that featured Jailbreak (not released on US Dirty Deeds) plus the songs from the Aussie High Voltage that were not released here until then.
A Cool and down to earth guy! I read his book and it was very entertaining and a cool insight to the Early years of AC/DC!! Too bad he got fired but with AC/DC you Don't Argue or Piss Off the Young brothers, Period! He learned that the hard way just like Phil Rudd did in 1983. I love the Early and Raw AC/DC Even when George Young played Bass on the Lp's! I believe Mark mostly Played on the LP's T.N.T., Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, The U.S. and UK Versions of High Voltage and Let There Be Rock with some Bass Work done by George Young too.
Well ya gotta admit the Youngs are pretty good guitar players nice to their fans but i gotta say it was a dick move by Angus punching Mark then losing your gig that's a piss off i hope now the same thing does not happen with Brian Johnson
I like Brian, not more than Bon, but He's been the frontman for Along time now and he's done a great job too. But I think he's on his way out, the last couple Albums have only had Angus and Mal writing Songs and Lyrics. When the Lyric man is No longer getting his lyrics on any albums; then You Know Something is Up!
I think Angus & Malcolm wanted a bass player who is less noticeable. Mark was known to party with Bon a lot, but they knew they couldn't get rid of Bon.
I read the book and it should have been a magazine article. He was a hired hand in ACDC and even from his own words, he was not hired to write songs. The book is him telling the same old thing over and over. I don't think he even was recorded on any albums. The book had some touching stories that had nothing to do with ACDC. The Youngs did not want him in the band and since it was their band, he should have chilled out and would have been a much richer man. The book is a waste of time and very boring…...
+Richard N He Recorded TNT, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap , Let there be Rock and Rerecorded the parts for the U.S. and UK Version of High Voltage. The Only one's in the band that wrote Songs were Angus and Mal with Bon and Later Brian Writing Lyrics.
Mark is absolute class. Met him a couple of times in Sydney and he always had the time to talk music. Proper really good bloke
My all-time favourite AC/DC album is " Let There Be Rock", and Mark played on it.
this is my favourite, dirty deeds..
This guy is all class. All the best to you Mark.
like his book this man is so humble and honest . Would love a couple hours in a pub with him
Very nice guy the interviewer, he's got a lot of class. Love people like that.
Huge fan Mark. Just started reading the book. Already love it..
I love this guy Mark Evans damn I'd love to see him with ACDC once again laying the old numbers with bon Scott in mind,.
Great to See you Mark! My 1st Favorite Bass Player.

"So basically, I'm Effed up" This guy rock's !
I liked the early Mark Evans bass that he did in which was simple, but it fit the band. Personally,I wish he was never kicked out of the band.
Props to the interviewer for not bringing up acdc in the first 5 seconds👍
Love your work in the greatest band in the world. Wish you could have stayed around longer
read the book, was excellent, anyone who'd like to read into the beginnings of acadaca, would enjoy this book
great interview, I like Marc Evans!

Marc = legend!
BON was the most charismatic front man of Acdc
Great book! His life's adventures were very entertaining to read. Glad he wrote the book because the Young brothers are not the type to write one.
These interviews were great! Whoever decided to do them is a genius! :D

He should take the place of Cliff now of coarse , it was his job before ...
In reference to what amps the Youngs' used pre UK, I had thought Wasp amps.

He should have been inducted in the RnR HOF!

maybe i'm imaging it....?? Llol..

mrhyde2484 he started to not get along with Angus so Malcolm and he kicked him out of the band
Instead of blue eyes, put dark eyes on Woody Harreison, a bit of a resemblance. Do you think?
I want to read the book but I don't know if its worth the time.
Is there a lot about AC DC(like cool or funny storys)?
It has been 1 year since you commented, sorry, but yes there is! Did you read something or not?
Ya I ended up reading it

Richard N god your a ray of sunshine dickhead
It was never about vocals. You can't here any back up's live anyway! Vocals that is!
This guy was very dirty with my ex
wonder if he resents Cliff Williams
Why would he? It wasn't Cliff who sacked him. He doesn't appear to be holding grudges.
Drunko and druggo behaviour at the ACDC concert will get you BASHED.
