The political compass is definitely not based on government intervention. It is rather freedom of something. For example the libertarian freedom could mean both ways which is either having market capitalism so that it motivates freedom or remove the market system entirely bcuz it demotes freedom and will led to a monopoly state with disguised as a business affair. Pretty much that's how I see it and how everyone should see it not the American way which is commie vs capitalism.
I’m near Centrism, but closer to Authoritarianism Left, but where I place on the map is Left Libertarianism, not very far at all left, but I’m not too close too full-on Libertarianism. More so very far.
I’m a libertarian right, Gadsden flag loving American. However I do have some, “authoritarian” if you’d like to call it, exceptions. I do not believe abortion should be legal, unless the mother’s life is threatened. I’m iffy on the legality on hookers/prostitution, but I’m a bit more leaning to the illegal side. Other than that I’m a free speech absolutist libertarian.
@@user-bp3lg4gv3m I seem to have very similar political views to this guy so I will try to answer for him. Even though libertarians advocate for natural rights and a hands-off government socially, abortion is a violation of a child's right to life which trumps and therefore takes precedence over the woman's right to bodily autonomy.
@@tealic367 not just the abortion thing but the prostitution thing. There is literally no argument a libertarian can make for why prostitution should be illegal
Actually only the vertical axis is about how much government intervention there is. The horizontal axis is about liberal vs conservative. This is also called left and right respectivly. Liberal is about progress and equality. Conservative is about tradition and hierarchy. The horizontal axis can encompass both economic and social issues. I find that economic is more prominant. I think these quandrants can be thought of in this way. The left and right have thier ecomic goals. Then they are subdivded over whether they use the government to work toward that end. Rightists have a goal of capitalism. There are two ways to do it. Libertarian rightists would be good at having laissez faire. That is the yellow quadrant. There is capitalism with free markets. By free, buissiness don't get any interference from anybody. They are free from government interference. They are also free from any community that pressures people to share. Authoritarian rightists would be good at having corpetate welfare. That is the blue quadrant. There is a case of the government interfering with the economy in order to benefit corperations and the upper class. There are things like subsidies and tax cuts. The corperations use bribery to control the government. Monarchy is an extremw case of this. A minarch is a case where the biggest government leader and the richest person are one and the same. Leftists have the goal of socialism. Then different kinds have different methods. Authoritarian leftists are the ones that are into regular welfare. That is the red quadrant. The government interferes with the economy in order to benefit the lower class. This is done at the expense of the upper class. Regular welfare has things like food stamps, social security, public housing and that sort of thing. This can also include education and healthcare for everyone. The governmwnt also uses taxes and regulations to control the economy. An extreme of that is the Soviet Union, especially under Stalin. This is where the government takes over completely, and it abolishes markets and class. Stalin is a case of totalitarian communism. The libertarian leftists are those that are into unions. That is the green quadrant. Unions do a lot in order to benifit workers. That leads to better payment, hours, working conditions and other benefits of a job. The workers do this on their own with no government ontervention. This state has a lot of freedom and equality. Libertarian leftists would also be good at grassroots movements and community organizations. There is the vertical axis for order and freedom. However if I had to do this for the horizaontal axis, I say that right has more order and left has more freedom. Right has order because it has rich having economic power over the poor. In a workplace, the bosses have controll over the workers. In extremes, this can turn into another form of tyranny. So out of the four quadrants, blue has the most order and green has the most freedom.

So you're a libertarian except when it comes to women exercising their bodily autonomy

@@user-bp3lg4gv3m Oh yeah I agree with you on that. Although immoral the government should have no jurisdiction to make prostitution illegal.
In what world can you call yourself a libertarian and be against boidly autonomy? I think what your describing is liking free speech.
