You really only need one crawler in your RC arsenal in my book. I traded a kit Axial Wrate Spawn I finally finished assembling for a Traxxas E- Revo 2.0 and do not regret it at all. I purchased the TRX4 Bronco with the sunset stripes, non lifted version and am happy with it. The E- Revo needed a bit of attention as it was used, but nothing that I couldn't handle. It was not beat up totally. I have the mini TRX-4M for inside crawling, but that's it for crawlers. Traxxas sets the bar in RC and others try to duplicate it, but nope. I love the Slash Ultimate I picked up last summer( used) and the Mini E- Revo( New) Oh, I am hooked on Traxxas. They actually THINK about design before producing a product, not many RC manufacturers think ahead concerning improvements . Traxxas thinks WAY ahead. Smart move.
Traxxas really needs to make a gas powered x-maxx imagine the 2 stroke sound and smell in an x-maxx! They made the monster buggy which had a 2 stroke zenoah motor back in the day and they really should now. It would be amazing if they did. And they could get more sales and fill the void of them not selling a 1/5 scale gas rc.
I love the grey and green, I have the sport that came with the Traxx and all those light, no turn signals tho...I love my sport it awesome, great video!!! 💯

Maybe a lower center of gravity kit, larger diameter shocks or brushless system for crawling. I love my Traxxas products but come on the horse is dead stop kicking it.

Agreed. I don’t really do much trailing, but I was still tempted by the K10 and F150 High Trails, as they look great and with the diff lockers and 2-Speed it makes sense. As you’ve suggested, the whole point of the Sport, was to optimise the TRX4 platform for crawling, so to then throw on the lift kit and big wheels on a Sport is a bit pointless. Think Traxxas are just rinsing this platform for all it’s worth. Still love my Sport though. That’ll never change.

Yeah, they really are marketing for the masses, which makes sense when you’re a huge company, but sucks if you want innovation. They could have very easily tweaked their axles and chassis for potential SOA and 4 link set-up etc, but big wheels and bright colours it is.
Im not surprised and not impressed. I understand catering to the mass community and people getting into rc’s. But there are so many different kinds of high trail crawlers that they all mostly look the same to me with minor differences. When will they step up and cater to the comp crawler community? People are willing to pay a little extra for license scale crawlers if possible…

I'm INFATUATED with the special gray launch edition! I would be thrilled to get my hands on one, however, I have a Sport RTR already which needs a BEC and new h.p. servo, so I might just get the gray body which is being sold separately. There's a green Long arm lift kit coming available soon, too, so I may go that route and use my existing chassis.
Hey mark I have a question for you. What portable power bank/station do you use for charging your batteries?? Any do you have any recommendations?? I have the dual charger 200watt with the 4s 6700x2 and I don’t know what one to get or what one provides enough power to charge them.

In terms of Traxxas bodies, only the K10 and F150 bodies will fit.

picked up an f150 hightrail... lowered it. EVEN WITH BRASS ITS WAY TOO TOP HEAVY. much improved lowered imo
This is just an assembled TRX4 Sport Kit with electronics and a much higher center of gravity, my guess is also a higher price tag as well.

Is lift something you want in crawler? I do everything I can to lay my suspension out in my 1/24, better flex and lower cog.

Different wheelbase. The Ford F150 High Trail has a 13.2" wheelbase vs 12.3 for this one.
