    My plan: 🢃
    I eat low carb living a low carb lifestyle! I used to do Weight Watchers for over 5 years however I switched over to low carb as I find it a more managable way of eating for the rest of my life. As a result of this change Ive continued to lose weight and lower my blood sugar after learning I was pre diabetic. My fat numbers are not too high and not at a keto level although some meals could be considered keto meals. Here is my low carb eating plan that I track through carb manager. I do not count anything other than carbs and it works for me. I eat total carbs not net carbs and I do not count non starchy veggies in my carb counts OR anything from the berry family. This works for me and I find it the healthiest way for me to lose weight and feel my best.
    Max of 30 carbs per meals
    Max of 15 carbs per snack
    I do NOT count anything else
    I find all the other macros fall into place if I hit at or below my low carb numbers.

    I agree with the 50 to 60 scenario. I ate healthy and exercised regular in my 50s. I am 69 years old and continue to eat healthy and exercise regularly. I am about 7-8 lbs below goal and go to WW meeting for free still. I feel great!

    Barrett do you allow some time between caffeine and iron supplements? I had to go on iron supplements due to extremely low ferritin which is the protein that stores iron, and there are some foods that need time between iron, I was looking for contraindications for my thyroid medicine and came across this information. There needs to be about two hours between iron supplements and caffeine. Even decaf they say. Just a thought if you’re having to take iron supplements again.
    People that give blood routinely should have their ferritin check because they iron can be fine, but the ferritin can be low. It’s very important.
    Also, do you notice if your iron supplements upset your stomach? I have acid reflux anyway and it’s much worse with iron supplements and there again you have to watch when you can take something for reflux and iron supplement.

    Hi Barrett I have a question did you try anything to do with your a fib they offered surgery for my son who is 38 I don’t really know if it’s necessary

      I have not. Right now I'm able to manage it but I wouldn't rule it out if it was necessary.

    With your CGM...do you only get a Dietician for 30 days? If yes, is it possible to have the dietician longer?

    Barrett pastor I'm got prediabetes i still eat sugar but I'm not on metformin also the doctor won't give it to me I eat alot of carbs this is lottie I love watching your video

      Be careful eating the sugar though because with pre-diabetes too much sugar and carbohydrates might put you over the top to get into the zone of diabetes. This is your chance to turn it around.

      @@lottierichards8369 Eating too much sugar can lead to insulin resistance, which is when the body doesn't respond properly to insulin and glucose builds up in the blood. This can cause the pancreas to produce more insulin, eventually breaking down and leading to higher blood sugar levels.
      If you have a "sweet tooth" I would suggest a sugar free and low carb option of your favorite sweets in moderation.
