Im 14, and this song is my grandfather he's done and sacrafised so much over the years for his family and now that he can't do the things he once could after his heart attack and losing his leg I steped up to do them. Whenever he calls needing something, Im their like he used to be for my family. I dont mind mowing his lawn, cleaning his vehicles, fixing his sheds, and any other tasks he needs because if he could, he would be doing the same for me. He still does what he can, which is not much, but it's so appreciated. I am in to building and fixing things and my father is not so my grandfather tells me every weekend when I go vist him "if theirs anything in the shed you would like just ask you can probably have it" I would never expect that but he nows he can't use it and I can and if he doesn't give it to me it will all rot away in the sheds. I love my grandfather and am so scared for the day I won't be able to go see him or give him a call after a long day. I dont know what I would do without him.
My grandpa is this video. Takes his hat off in the house/church, opens the door open for my grandma, tells the waitress she did a good job, and prays for his kids and grandkids every day. Thank you Grandpa Bob.
Why would anyone dislike this song? It makes me think of how good of a man my Papa is. He is still married to my grandma after 50 years. He is the most honest, and caring man. Thumbs up if you love/miss your papa, grandpa, opi, ext! :)
On our grandpa and grandma's 65th wedding anniversary, someone made a video with this song! Was watching it today and came to look for the song! Now it will forever remind me of him,he passed 3 months ago!😢❤

Lost my dad 2 years ago yesterday. He was that type of father- loving and caring. Married to my mom for 65 years. I was graced to spend 48 years learning from him every day. ...Thanks for the song and the memories.

I love this song. It reminds me so much of my grandfather. The saddest part of this song is its true they sure as hell don't come close to making them like this anymore. The stuff that generation went through raised the toughest and greatest Men around. Our world has gotten soft and it shows unfortunately.

My grandparents were married on April 7th, 1956. We lost my grandpa on October 30th after a short battle with cancer. He taught us the value of the love for one another and how to do things yourself. Why pay someone to do it when you can save the money and do it yourself. He once built a water softner out of parts he found at our local dump. He very rarely paid full price. He had no credit as he always paid cash. I miss you Grandpa George.
This reminds me of my grandfather.. He met my grandmother when they were about 15 or 16 and my grandfather is now 70 and still treats my grandmother like a queen, their closer than ever.. they raised 3 children in their lifetime.. My papa. One hell of a man. I'm blessed to still have him ,me at 25 him at 74. He is the man I wanna be, a man that wanted nothing more than to be a family man. He's the one I call when I get good news or don't know what to do. He's the man that told me if your hands ain't bloody, your shirt ain't soaked in sweat, or you ain't tired when you get home, you didn't work hard enough. He's my hero and I know I'm blessed to still have him. Mark Milanovich, you are one tough sob and I only pray I can fill your shoes one day.
I was raised in Philly. my parents in Oxford nc. we went down every summer for a week. I was 6 when me my dad and grandad went fishing. I remember we went to this pasture and had to go on the tractor. it was red rusty and huge. I can see the big m on the side. we used canned corn and chicken livers for bait. we used these 10 foot long bamboo poles. didn't get a nibble.we had biscuits and ham with blackberry zerves and my dew for lunch. best memory of my youth.

My great grandma passed away May 18th. She always went to church and helped anyone in need. Never cursed anyone out. She was sweet and caring. I miss her so much!! 😭😭😭😭
awesome song and video but just have to say this I work and live in Fort McMurray Alberta and went through the mass evacuation from the wildfires and my wife, kids and I came back to Pembroke till we could go back and I was shopping in the mall and seen a bake sale on a Sunday wich is pretty common but this one had about 5 or 6 preteen girls and Mom's and grand mas maybe and I seen a sign that the money made on Saturday would go to some local thing and Sunday it would go the red Cross for Fort McMurray wildfire relief. So I bought some cupcakes and was walking away turned around and asked who idea was it to have the bake sale and this little girl maybe 11 or 12 shyly put up her hand and said it was hers, I said thank you for your support to help Fort McMurray it was awesome to good valley kids just want to help wich ever way they can. I may live in Fort McMurray but it's still not home
Yeah!!! Good Canadian country music!! I grew up in ST. Charles Ont. raised by my Grandparents so I could soooo totally relate to this song and I have to say I miss my Granddad everyday because he was so my hero. I was misty eyed in the end.
My best friend was a stolen grandpa lol that's what I called him. We talked online for 15 years. Im brazilian... He is american. I learnt everything from him... From "Chevys are the real deal" to "No one needs anything between 9mm and 45acp"(refering to the 40 lol). I still talk to him... In my heart, he will always be alive, unfortunately we never met personally, but that bond did not require anything but the spiritual connection. One day I'll make him proud and come to america to be the firefighter I promised him I'd be.
My grandparents got married June 1955 too. Except my grandmother died Christmas Eve 2007. I showed this to my grandfather and I said thank you and he started crying. Thank you for a great song.
I live in Malaysia, a country in Southeast Asia. I'm tired of the crappy pop songs the local stations play these days. This song is so good and meaningful. Love it.
My old man raised me the old school country way. He taught me at a young age how to work how to fight n love and the killer work ethic. He is my best friend in this world. He is my 🌎 he is all I have.
Spend time living with and learning from your elders. My granma is my best friend. My dad was a hard working man who passed away young. I have been blessed to have my grandma and her siblings in my life and even my son's life. Love them while they are here and show them your love. It is amazing what you learn about yourself when you do. Then be the change you want to see in the world.
Hey Jana, Reading your words I have to say I am quite impressed...there is so much truth in your lines...... And thinking about some mistakes I did as a son and father- and having your words in my mind ,I have to say,-you seem to be a very remarkable woman, ts not that men never think this way,but I guess that -sometimes words like these come easier for women-isnt that right? Thank you very much for your words. God bless. Roger
I can’t agree more. I’m 18 and some of the shit my generation does makes me wonder what the hell is wrong with people. It’s how they are raised I believe. I’m wyoming small town born and raised
Boy this Reminds me of my Dad Too the T, And the Part Still Pays with Cash Hits Home, Thank God He's Still here at 81 and Doing Pretty Good For his age, He is My Best Friend and a Good Dad Thank God For Him and Hope I have Many Years More With Him. This Song Hit's Home.
Why isn't he topping the charts? What's with this other bullshit trash I hear? This is the kind of country country used to be. They don't make country singers like this anymore.
When it comes to the country industry, I kinda agree with the fact that country music went downhill the past few years. I think 2010 was around the time that country music was the best. Remember when Taylor Swift was a country singer? I miss that- the 2008-2010 Swift before "1989" came out. I do like the "bro" stuff from today, but i'd still rather hear things like "I Hope You Dance"...
Where did this type of country go.. as today's country is not the same.. what an amazing song this reminds me of the grandad he's passed away 12 years now today's generation is not the same and no manners and there not as nice as the older generation
ill admit im a strong half wolf half man with more weapons then I can count ready to fight for my civil liberties but this song got me crying bad "sobs" my generation are focused on killing innocent worshiping evil sex drugs and not careing for another they worship these stupid rap stars more then our real god our real savior Jesus Christ we need to get back to our grass roots god bless you Jason blaine

back when women actually appreciated even when you did something small like make a step to get to the top shelf, now women want the world and even then.......too many high expectations.

I am the BIGGEST Country Music Fan ever and this is one of the best songs and videos I've ever heard and seen. Really lifted my heart. Jason Blaine, you have an awesome voice. Far better then many present country music stars. I wish you the very best. I hope your song gets the country radio airplay it deserves and I hope to see it on CMT.. It's worlds above the majority of songs I've ever heard in country music. The subject matter of this song brought huge tears to my eyes. JUST AWESOME! Buddy Sizemore
i wish you luck. the world truly needs people like that nowadays. today it's all about me, me, me. no one ever thinks about putting other peoples needs above their own. it's for these very reasons that i want to get a job in the field of helping people such as the Crisis Help Line or in an animal shelter
Listened to this song a million times. Haven't been able to since Nov 1st. I always saw my husband's grandfather in this video... he passed on November 1st and even now i have chills.
song reminds me of my poppa a lil bit. he was a musician back in his younger days and he was one of the best players i knew. he's still around but he cant play like he used to, although he still tries now and then and he still sounds awsome in my opinion. when that day finally does come he says he's going to give me his 1988 original handmade Dobro guitar. they don't make Dobro's handmade anymore so it's worth alot. it's also made in the year i was born. i know my poppa truly is one of a kind

This video describes by dad to a T. He is the best man I have ever known. Hard worker, loving dad , grandpa, brother, uncle and husband. You couldn't have wished for a better man to raise you and show you what life was all about. He will celebrate his 80th Birthday in Nov. and his 60th wedding anniversary to my wonderful mother in March. Thank you Jason for this song.

Yeah pembroke ontario for the win ! ❤️

Waterloo ontario
I was raised in Philly. my parents in Oxford nc. we went down every summer for a week. I was 6 when me my dad and grandad went fishing. I remember we went to this pasture and had to go on the tractor. it was red rusty and huge. I can see the big m on the side. we used canned corn and chicken livers for bait. we used these 10 foot long bamboo poles. didn't get a nibble.we had biscuits and ham with blackberry zerves and my dew for lunch. best memory of my youth.
This video was done so well. Brought a tear to my eye! Great job Jason
Really got me thinkin about my Poppop, Great man, Did pay cash for everything, Built little things to help my grandma out around the house.. To this day, He is my One and only hero, R.I.P. Raymond Roth. Forever Missed, Never forgotten, You're always in my heart. I love you.
He still combs his hair like Elvis
Pays cash for everything
And he'll only drive a chevy and thinks Alan Jackson's king
He knows everyone by name at the local hardware store
They dont make 'em like that anymore
Up with the sun each mornin'
Hardly missed a day of work
Summer 1957 he helped build that Lutheran church
Believes a man should work all week but save Sunday for the Lord
They dont make 'em like that anymore
Standin' shoulder to shoulder with him now
I still feel small
And I'm still lookin' up to him like he's ten feet tall
There's somethin about that generation
These days I think we need 'em
More than we ever did before
But they dont make 'em like that anymore
He married his sweet Mary
June 1955
He goes on and on about her
Her casseroles, her clear blue eyes
He still helps her with her coat
Still opens her car door
They dont make 'em like that anymore
Standin' shoulder to shoulder with him now
I still feel small
And I'm still lookin up to him like he's ten feet tall
Theres somethin' about that generation
These days I think we need 'em
More than we ever did before
But they dont make 'em like that anymore
Theres somethin about that generation
These days I think we need 'em
More than we ever did before
Yeah thats for sure
But they dont make 'em like that anymore
He still combs his hair like Elvis
Pays cash for everything...
I wish they still made them like that, still looking up to my grandfather, who's been gone most my life. They broke the mold with him.
Right now in 2019 this song for my 2 uncles randy and david cause this is so them love u guys
I love this grandpa song. I miss my grandparents. Mine was golden. Grandparents are so heartwarming.
This is recording where I live !! His brother was my teacher in high school ❤️
Yeah!!! Good Canadian country music!! I grew up in ST. Charles Ont. raised by my Grandparents so I could soooo totally relate to this song and I have to say I miss my Granddad everyday because he was so my hero. I was misty eyed in the end.
love this song ❤ the lyrics are absolutely beautiful
Make me think of my father in law really tho only daddy I ever knew and I miss him so much.
Always loves my mother in law Marie took care of his whole family. Why can’t men be like that now.

Mijn lieve Walther van mij! Dit is een heel mooi liedje! Ik houd zo ontzettend ontzettend veel van jou!
they sure don't bud. condolences to jason and fam.
It's been a month since my grandpa went to heaven. He was like a father to me. Missing you my sweet grandpa. Rest in peace 🕊🕊
Thank you for a great song.
when i hear this i automatically think of my grandpa bud and it just brings tears to my eyes because my grandpa died the day after i was born :'(
I live in Malaysia, a country in Southeast Asia. I'm tired of the crappy pop songs the local stations play these days. This song is so good and meaningful. Love it.
True song makes me think of my Grandpa .
My old man raised me the old school country way. He taught me at a young age how to work how to fight n love and the killer work ethic. He is my best friend in this world. He is my 🌎 he is all I have.
I loved when it said Chevy parking all others will be towed and the kid was driving a Ford Truck!
Hey Jana,
Reading your words I have to say I am quite impressed...there is so much truth in your lines......
And thinking about some mistakes I did as a son and father- and having your words in my mind ,I have to say,-you seem to be a very remarkable woman,
ts not that men never think this way,but I guess that -sometimes words like these come easier for women-isnt that right?
Thank you very much for your words.
God bless.
Roger
Thank you. I believe women do tend to speak from the heart more often. I appreciate your kind reply
GOOD CANADIAN BOY!
+Reese Nemeth Good Pembroke boy!
Reese Nemeth I'm Canadian
I was wondering what kind of money that way the man used to pay with at the supermarket.
sounds like billy currington
I am 10 years late Jason, but the best song ever, thank you for your insite and talent, worked with you in Pembroke.
my generation needs to learn from their grandparents, I'm ashamed of people my age
I can definitely agree im almost 20 and my generation is unbelievably dumb is so many ways
I can’t agree more. I’m 18 and some of the shit my generation does makes me wonder what the hell is wrong with people. It’s how they are raised I believe. I’m wyoming small town born and raised
You do have some good people from 18-30...they just aren't as common as they used to be. People tend to be a lot more selfish now.
Totally agree with you brother I’m only 17 and I listen to my grandpa more than my dad
My daughters certainly have. I made sure of it.
They don't make country singers like this anymore.
agreed
+MrWolfSnack amen to that.
I thought this was just more generic pop when I clicked on it (I was just curious), but, surprise! It's country! :)
+Kat TheFanEnthusiast Taylor Swift was actually never country. she was bro country at best and that type of country music sucks very badly
Where did this type of country go.. as today's country is not the same.. what an amazing song this reminds me of the grandad he's passed away 12 years now today's generation is not the same and no manners and there not as nice as the older generation
i love his gamdpa Harvey and grandma Merlyn
Wiping the tears. Lost my dad almost 6 years ago. They don't make em like that anymore. hugs
ill admit im a strong half wolf half man with more weapons then I can count ready to fight for my civil liberties but this song got me crying bad "sobs" my generation are focused on killing innocent worshiping evil sex drugs and not careing for another they worship these stupid rap stars more then our real god our real savior Jesus Christ we need to get back to our grass roots god bless you Jason blaine
Jason blaine, you made pembroke proud, we still talk about you and how far you have come. COME VISIT US SOON !! Bro we miss you.
I agree, Jason. They don't make em like my dad anymore either.
This song is for my grandfather that passed away when i was 8 rip granddad i love u now im 33 ive learned how to be a man and a worken man i work at a factory my granddad always sayea love the ones u love but work hard if all u have is a dallor money dont buy happenes so thanks granddad
back when women actually appreciated even when you did something small like make a step to get to the top shelf, now women want the world and even then.......too many high expectations.
Robbie ferron .....i appreciate all kind gestures and recognize it more and more when done because they definitely don't have many guy's or woman like that anymore. 💕👍😉
It's the simple things in life that truly touch's your heart. 💕
Your looking at the wrong women
It's okay to have high expectations. I lowered mine and have been disappointing since . Unevenly yoked. Regret my decision to settle for less.
@Pipo Chan no lol I dated a man who couldn't see the hypocrisy in his church. He couldn't see that my god was the same Christian God as his. My ex is a combo rig welder and I'm structural welder making why way to combo single hand. 😉 combo welding wont just take me to Paris
#whylimitemyself.

2019 november..
Oh man does this make me think of my papaw. So blessed to have someone from back yonder still in my life. I love you paw.
I don't like that blond girl. I think she would have kept it.
lol she taught me in grade 6
i wish you luck. the world truly needs people like that nowadays. today it's all about me, me, me. no one ever thinks about putting other peoples needs above their own. it's for these very reasons that i want to get a job in the field of helping people such as the Crisis Help Line or in an animal shelter
THE YOUNG AREN'T TOTALLY THE BLAME FOR BAD BEHAVIOR, THEIR MENTORS MUST TAKE MUCH OF THE BLAME.. MAY THEY START FINDING BETTER TEACHERS
They really don't make them like that anymore and clearly this is what this generation needs most
Listened to this song a million times. Haven't been able to since Nov 1st. I always saw my husband's grandfather in this video... he passed on November 1st and even now i have chills.
Smiles, hi Tammy 🌺😊
It's people like Jason Blaine that make me proud of where I live (: He makes everyone in Pembroke, Ontario very proud!
song reminds me of my poppa a lil bit. he was a musician back in his younger days and he was one of the best players i knew. he's still around but he cant play like he used to, although he still tries now and then and he still sounds awsome in my opinion. when that day finally does come he says he's going to give me his 1988 original handmade Dobro guitar. they don't make Dobro's handmade anymore so it's worth alot. it's also made in the year i was born. i know my poppa truly is one of a kind
Miss you daddy looks like i gotta change the lightbulb all by myself now but dont worry u brought me up strong and ill pray every night and i wont trust anyone who dont have any books and ill make sure ill tell mamma i love her everyday xxx

This song.... beautiful! This is my grandfather through and through... thank you for making such an amazing and true song!
Awesome song, glad you broke the family tradition of Chevy's and got you a Ford just made the song even better
This video was shot in Pembroke Ontario I grew up just down the street form Jason. I knew his family quite well and we went to school together and I recognize most of his family in the video. The young man that returns the wallet is his brother Matthew.
This song is amazing. Reminded me exactly of my grandfather. I really miss him.
