- Was Cappadocia everything we ever dreamed of?? We wondered if Cappadocia was overhyped or exaggerated online. We are here to bust that myth and hopefully share with you guys why this is truly one of the most magical places we have ever experienced. As well as the beautiful sights of Love valley, Pigeon valley and getting to watch the hot air balloons rise over a snowy Goreme with blue skies, we also enjoyed some cultural experiences. Chesca from Overlanding Sophia booked us all in for a cooking class to make some traditional Turkish cuisine (vegan friendly), as well as a pottery class to learn about the local pottery made from the red clay of Cappadocia region Avanos. We hope we can bring you guys along so that you experience a little bit of the magic with us of what Cappadocia in the deep snows of winter is really like. You can decide if it was worth the 100km drive!.Van life in Turkey has been an absolute dream, we are only sad that our time in Turkiye is nearly over!

⤈ WHO WE ARE ⤈
We are Philly and Keely and we live full time in our tiny home on wheels Martha. After building our DIY home in a Citroen Relay camper we spent a year living on the streets of London before quitting our jobs only to be met with lockdown. So after waiting for six months for the borders to reopen in Ireland we have finally hit the road in June 2021 and spent 90 days enjoying van life in Spain. Then we spent the next two months enjoying van life in Croatia before heading onto Serbia which stole our hearts. Now we have journeyed from there into Turkey where we are meeting lots of fellow van lifers.

We feel soooo lucky to have experienced it in the beautiful deep soft snow, just so so magical looking. I was ridiculously excited when we woke up last week to realise we were snowed in. We are all just big kids in the snow eh 🤣🤣

Fun fact: when I was 15 the pharmacist in my town paid me & a couple other students to shovel pigeon poop off his roof in small town Montana and my dad used it as fertilizer in our garden and it grew the best it had ever grown that year 😮
That is a fun fact!! I love hearing stories like that, now I feel like we need to get some pigeons on our future land haha

Said this already on Overlanding Sophia's video, but I found Cappadocia breathtakingly beautiful when TREAD the Globe visited in summer. But, OH MY GOODNESS, a blanket of snow elevates the region to purely magical! 😱🤯
The cooking experience looked very relaxing. Being involved together in preparing the dishes makes for a familial meal, plus it really makes the food taste better! 😎👍

Such a beautiful place you traveled too. It really is breathtaking. Very inspirational. I wonder what medical and dental coverage you have and how it would be used if a accident happened. I guess its all the pre work you do before you go to a country.
Thanks so much Craig! It was so so beautiful. We have travel insurance, but to be honest I've heard dental is really good In Turkey and great value, probably one of the better places to get dental work done if needed lol.
