@@cubbles6801 it's not really about that. people can believe whatever they need/want. But Catherine acknowledges something truly triumphant. She did it. no one else, nothing else. Just Her.
I wasn't going into this season expecting it to fuck me up this much. Elle Fanning's performance in this season really moved me to tears. She deserves an Emmy for her performance this season it exceeded my expectations
She deserves all the awards! I was honestly shocked by how talented she was! I watched all 3 seasons and i thought she was good the first 2 seasons but this one.....oh boy!!!! She's so underrated!!!
I love this series so much -- and I agree 100% with how you put it. TOTALLY fucked me up, too. She and Gwilym Lee were so good in depicting the characters' shared sorrow, the hole that had been left in their lives. Sniffing and holding back the tears. Who would have imagined such a wonderful, profane, humorous series could have been so heartbreaking?
Many women in the 18 th century had such hair and wore wigs or hair pieces. She would not walk in front of people like this, but it actually is not historically inaccurate generally.
I hated that this is the last scene for the show. It was great as a season finale, but there are so many cliffhangers here. And this season really mentally fucked me up too, so I'm a little salty they didn't go for a season 4.
Yes! It really worked better than the vast majority of planned endings I've seen and I think they must've known they was a strong chance of this being it for them so they decided to end it strong!
@@7kraskawhich is interesting because I thought Tony McNamara's (show creator) Australian background had a huge bearing on the choice of the final song

I'm bummed they didn't get a chance to show her doing some of the cool stuff that the historically accurate version did. Would've been cool to see it in this silly-and-incredibly-heartfelt-historical-fiction style
Because getting awards requires politics. You need to campaign to get people to vote for you as best actress/actor/etc. If you don't put in the works behind the scene, you wont get it.
She did a great little Sia inspired dance move to wrap what has been a wonderfully bonkers take on Catherine the Great over 3 seasons. Well done to all involved.
Well marial came clean, she saved her cousin and one can't really fault her because if how close they were. George is set up as a potential villain should they get renewed.
The creators hinted at going to six seasons into Catherine's old age. I think Elle is done as Catherine and the real Catherine had a few lovers (Peter not being one of them) including Potempkin. As great as Elle was, Catherine is a really interesting historical figure and Elle is not age appropriate to continue the story.
Mandy Moore was 31 when she started playing the 60/70-something-year-old version of her character on This Is Us. And did it well at that. I'm not saying Fanning could play an old Catherine but with a talented makeup team and adjusting her voice and demeanor she could probably pass for a middle-aged Catherine.
I think Elizabeth swimming down to see Peter, coming up out of another hole, then telling them not to go back and get him because he looks peaceful, says there’s a possibility of Peter’s return. They never showed the body. Wishful thinking? Maybe.
nicholas isn't coming back, it was clearly stated by the actors. there's probably no season 4 and the no bringing the body served the plot , so no this isn't a telenovela. haha
Dont quote me on this but i think at some point after Marie Antoinette women starting cutting their hair like this calling is a guillotine bob as a kind of punkish protest
Tonight I finished season 2 on Prime just to discover I cannot watch season 3! These damn fucking streaming things are making me nutso. This shit keeps happening, so sick of it. Not about to buy an apple device just to watch a show.
Fantastic series - probably one of the best I've watched for a long time - the cast was absolutely first class, the humor was spot on - I loved them, hated them - but lived with them through every episode. This scene at the end honestly brought a tear to my eye - for her final triumph and my loss at no more sessions to come!
I'm hoping that they bring Peter back in season 4, this may be a reason as to why they didn't show the body they might be able to pull off a Capt. America and say he was just in a cryogenic state but it's probably pretty unlikely 🥺🥺🥺
I think this is it and no s4 that's why they killed him already. Though I don't agree of how he died and how short their moment together as actually in love with each other 💔
@@jezztinelnseth5083there probably will be a season 4 where Catherine begins her Heisenberg transformation arc and she meets the greatest antagonist yet.
I love this scene and the way it wraps up such an emotionally heavy season but good God I could think of a dozen other songs to fit this moment so much better.
@@disierra-amado5596 This show is excellent start to finish including the soundtrack. Right down to the last scene I just can't get behind the song choice. The moment itself is so good I just don't think it fits the vibe musically.
I personally really like the song choice at the end. I'm curious, what songs do you think would fit better? Kinda cool way to get some song recommendations :)
I could be wrong, but I don’t think that’s the end of Peter. I know it would be hard to bring him back, but when they didn’t show his body when Aunt Elizabeth swam into the frozen waters and they didn’t show a camera angle of the body, I was like nooo, there has to be a reason for that. I think maybe she’s covering for him. Maybe she seen the horse and not him and didn’t want to say anything to slow Catherine down. I don’t know though. Maybe wishful things. I just honestly don’t believe this show has much hope without Peter. They were able to pull off the rest of season 3 without him seemingly well, but that’s because he was in half of it and the other half, you still got to enjoy Pugachev up until the last episode. Idk. He was easily the best character on the show and balanced out Catherine. I believe even if they don’t bring his character back to life, he will be a ghost presence to Catherine in the next season because there’s no way Nicholas Hoult is just cut from the cast. No way.
God I hope he's still alive and I won't be watching another episode until I find out if he comes back or not, had to stop watching it after he died, let's hope he's back soon! He was too important and the show is so historically inaccurate nobody would care if he came back
