@@ankitsengupta6448 I could be wrong but the French, particularly Parisians, are known for being, or at least thought to be, very stylish. So it becomes this thing like if the French would do it then it's okay lol. Something like that. It's hard to explain.
Beyond the humor it’s just nice to see when Clair and Fleabag actually get along and support each other. It’s so cleverly done that we know that Clair loves her sister, even if she doesn’t particularly like her.
Fleabag is so incisively and immaculately written. This sequence starts as a hilarious gag, builds onto it for 2 minutes, and then punches you in the gut with genuine human connection and conversation. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is a word wizard!
It's among the best written television shows I've ever seen, maybe THE best, given that it's so relatively short and contains not one scene that I would call less than brilliant. She's a genius. The casting is equally stellar.
My level of concern for Claire on the phone was at an 11 because it sounds like she got into a massive fight with Martin or something drastic happened at work. Then they cut to her in shambles with that haircut and you can't help but laugh uncontrollably. 🤣 This show is too much!
It's genius that this haircut was made to look weird on Claire, but is not actually a bad haircut in itself. It would have been too parodic and silly to have her end up with a truly ridiculous haircut - this one is just on the boundary between edgy and... silly-looking. Which is why it's so hilarious when Claire's Finnish colleague walks by later and compliments her on it! Because it's actually believable that someone might like it (well, OK, he has a crush on her, but it's still reasonable that he might not find it so horrible). The greatness of this series is in tiny details like this.
i thought Claire had an accident or was literally dying or anything dramatic until i saw the hair and i just watched the screen laughing out loud how insanely realistic this scene was.
I burst out into a big laugh when the picture was held up, and she almost looked like the women on the picture...I can´t take no more of this...Oh gosh, this is sooooo coool.
Claire's reaction to the priest thing is soooo funny and relatable, if you have any younger siblings you inmediatily understand what's going on in her mind while she's processing the information
Just the overlapping of their lines when they're shamefully like, "Sorry Antoni, I ....didn't mean for it to...turn out like that...see you next week." So hilarious. This show is one to rewatch, for sure. lol
The haircut doesn’t look bad. It can even be a bold statement if she carries the look with confidence. It’s one of those situations where it’s only as bad as she lets it be. She obviously picked that hairstyle because the look invoked a confident powerful image within her that she wanted for her meeting. But she didn’t commit to it afterwards. This is my first time seeing this character cause I haven’t seen the show but when I saw her I thought she looked like a serious business woman connected to chic social circles.
Spoilers ahead: This scene is quite near the end of the season. She’s in a bad relationship with a man who’s an alcoholic and a compulsive cheater and liar who is deliberately holding her back professionally. (She mentions in the scene how, despite the fact that she was trying to get pregnant, she only felt relief when she miscarried his baby.) She’s also secretly in love with her new business partner. He happens to walk by with several of their mutual colleagues in the very next scene and is enormously complimentary of her hair. This scene is very much the turning point in Claire’s self confidence. She realized quickly following this interaction that she wants to be with a person who lifts her up and not a person who puts her down.
I'm in the scene, the lady with the bob who "Anthony" is working on. I wish you'd have been there when we filmed (hair salon is at Spitalfields in London)... It was hilarious. Unfortunately, they cut out quite a bit of what we filmed.
Apparently, PW-B got a really awful haircut prior to this and her own sister reassured her that it was '.... very French...' lol, glad it made it into the show 😁
You can always count on a sister to ̶l̶i̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ reassure you 😅 Here are some more of Fleabag's great sisterly moments th-cam.com/video/xzP_uAncs0U/w-d-xo.html
4:21 the entire scene is hilarious but honestly it was such a cute moment to see always pent up, stressed, neurotic Claire having a genuine laughter with her sister, their relationship is the best part of the show
Actually he did cut her fringe a bit shorter than what it looks in the refference, and also the locks of hair from both sides. Also he didn´t make her hair look with a little bit of more body so it actually would be more accured to the refference. Of course its comedy. But Claire was right in some point
My friend at work didn't comment on my new haircut the whole day when she first saw it, and then in the evening she said "you know, it's very French". I was laughing so hard remembering this scene.
"I met someone" "That's amazing. What does he do?" "He's a priest" *cue background music while Claire gives the kind of reaction that leaves me on the floor* 😂😂
What's the worst haircut you've ever had?
Leo Sayer style, age 13. Even my brother laughed.
My childhood haircuts done by my mother, always a thick wonky fringe halfway up my forehead.
i looked like a cubist lampshade.
Agent Scully, age 13 😒😀
Have myself a front and side fringe.19. In the pandemic.
“I look like a pencil” gets me every time

and the sister's laugh denying LOL

We all love Phoebe, but Sian Clifford does not get enough credit for her performance as Claire. She is brilliant in this show.

Yes! Sian was truly a great counterpart to Phoebe in the show. Sian shined in the second season.
Claire is the funniest in this show
The fact that “it’s french” makes it better 😂

The best bit is when Anthony shows her the refference. 🤣
The 180 that Fleabag and Claire did was glorious
That cracked me up.
And she says "untill next week" I can't stand it
Sorry Anthony, sorry-
No no ....it's how Claire's like show and the reference and then...😄😄
"See you next week" is such an amazing line to end that whole confrontation

The chorus, " sorry Anthony" always makes me giggle, everytime.
“See you next week.” Died.
The “See you next week” is the sheer subtle brilliance of this scene 😂
That pivot when Fleabag said "he's a priest" to cue the music was just amazing. On top of it all, Claire's expression was just gold!
It's exactly the kind of thing her sister would do.
Whats the music called? :)
I thought she said "he's a police" and it honestly got me confused. 😅
This was the funniest moment of the show. Claire's reaction was everything
I love her side faces to the camera, very effective.
I am sure Fleabag's laugh after "I look like a pencil" was genuine

I agree😂😂😂
Either that or absolutely perfect acting!
"Oh no , don't bring Hilary !! Who's Stephanie ?!" Claire is AN ICON

just 11? - so dramatic
The way people talk about TV characters baffles me sometimes.

I've watched this hundreds of times and it doesn't get any less funny.
Claire's reaction to Fleabag telling her about hot priest gets me every time 😂
Hits different to me since I learned of the romance book "Priest", wondering if that author felt inspired by Fleabag. 😆
I love when fleabag asks “is this what you asked for” she puts her hands like in the shape of Claire’s haircut LOL
I only noticed the loopsided gesture after you pointed it out. Thanks for that 😂😂😂

I love the part later on when Claire's Finnish lover comes by and tells her she looks stunning. Really heartwarming
Fleabag is really a genius work of comedy, there's not enough like it.

As an older sister I can attest
It's a mark of great direction that as soon as you see her you know it's awful and as soon as she calms down it looks really nice on her.
The zero doubt in Claire shows that not only she didn't question why, she immediately knew who was it.
