    My mom keeps heaps of stuff her patients give her, she's a country GP so we have things like crochet blankets and a painting of cows, they truly are appreciated.

      Inner city GPs collect minor vandalism to their cars and buildings, crime reports for theft of their possessions and surgery kit, and endless nonsense complaints from NHS England and the cqc..

    • @Neojhun

      Anonymity. You very much can talk about documented cases, that's important to medicine. But you must spend every effort to anonymize who the patient was.

    • @floatingpeaks4584
      @floatingpeaks4584 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Paul Osc Slots exactally. NHS unfortunately is not a national treasure anymore. It's time we realised we need to abolish national insurance and allow people to pay for the insurance they require at certain points in their life. We don't have national insurance for cars so why people.

    • @thatguysellscrack
      @thatguysellscrack 4 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      @Paul Osc Slots I'm no fanboy of Corbyn, but have you taken a step back to think that in the last 9 years of a tory government, don't you think that it is by design all of the things you have listed?, to coerce people into thinking their way is better?
      I'm fortunate to have seen both sides of the health care system through various members of my family going through both. And hands down I would rather contribute to a public system that cares for all but also gave my grandmother an extra 5 years fighting leukaemia that was helped by others. It's about empathy and compassion for others at the end of the day.
      Don't get me wrong, it's not perfect. But it is FAR better than an american style system you are advocating for, and along with fighting fascism and sliced bread, the NHS is one of the best things our country has ever done.

    • @thatguysellscrack
      @thatguysellscrack 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Paul Osc Slots Something we can agree on that. No real world experience within the party leads to no idea on how to run real world things.
      Apologies to fact check you here but I think you need it. Blair didn't 'open the borders' . That was a part of the maastricht treaty in '92 under a tory government as an agreement for all EU members to allow their citizens to freely move to and from each member nation. I'll allow you that successive UK governments have not enforced tougher immigration laws, much like Belgium have, but that's down to both previous tory and labour governments.
      On the topic of immigrants, This is from the gov website " From 6 April 2015, non-EEA nationals need to pay a health surcharge when applying for a visa to stay in the UK for over 6 months, unless they are exempt. So basically you pay in enough tax on your wages (like everyone else) before you can start using the system. Under this tax system its irrespective of where you're from.
      And under free market health care. Just no. The potential to just focus on making money instead of actually helping the patient is too high. Please just watch this. Sources are provided for the information given th-cam.com/video/LSL3z55cT_c/w-d-xo.html

      @@thatguysellscrack clearly you are a Corbyn sympathiser. I do a lot of charity work, that's about empathy. The health system should be about providing a world class service. NHS cant even compete with countires like Nigeria now. Time to move on.

      Floating Peaks I’ll vote labour in the upcoming election, sure, but based on policy that I agree with on the whole, not because of the man at the helm.
      ‘Sympathiser’ is an interesting word to use though, did you copy and paste that from the daily mail by any chance? Just so I can understand the reading age I’m dealing with here.
      And on the contrary, the nhs is consistent ranked highly in the world. Read this fullfact.org/health/has-nhs-been-judged-best-healthcare-system-world/
