I live in Midtown, Swan/Grant, and I love this area, with its older brick homes. I don't even need a car in this district, I'm walking distance to Crossroads Festival, Fry's, Trader Joe's, Roadhouse Cinema and 12 restaurants. Even better than living downtown.
I like that area too. SUPER convenient to so many fun shops, restaurants, and activities! Thanks so much for your view and comment! Have a great weekend!
Wow what great memories! That’s what I remember about Marana and Sahuarita crom my childhood! My parents are both born and raised Tucsonans as well; they may remember Swan being a dirt road… makes you wonder what else will be built up around here in the future… thanks for the view and comment!
I keep watching these videos even though I don't need to buy a house. So you must be doing something right. So since I'm watching them all, I guess I'm a fan! Well done. I like your optimism towards Tucson there's a lot to be desired about it.
I just spent last weekend with my cousin. She lives in the neighborhood right next to Ranch del Lago. We love the Vail area. It was the second time visiting in the last 10 years.
Thank you so much for your wonderful videos. I am thinking of moving to Tucson from the East Coast. I am at retirement age but will still have to work and will rent. So I am going to study all your videos to learn more and more about Tucson. I have visited several times and I really loved it. But I need more information again thank you so much for your wonderful information. You do a great job!!👍👍
I can't believe how the area around Ruthrauff & La Cholla is growing and people moving in the area are cleaning it up. For example, a lot that housed 2 trailers the builder removed the trailers and built nice condos. People are removing trailers and also building single family dwellings. Since the overpass is finished things are changing fast, along with prices!
Oh yes that area is really changing throughout the years! I completely agree! so many other areas in the city as well! The whole northwest side is on fire right now!!! Getting so built up! Thanks so much for your view and comment! 😎🌵☀️
I live in the "Barrio Viejo" historic district in Tucson..off of Meyer street by Jerry's Lee Ho Market ..this home was my grand parents home in the 1930's thru the early 1980's..I took over in 1985 & my property has Skyrocketed🚀 in value 🤑..PS You know this already Kimberly👍
I'm closing on a house in the Civano area next month (E Rose Hill St) - bought the house without even having been to Tucson yet lol. I do a ton of cycling, so the east side seemed like a logical choice.
Wow that’s wonderful! Congratulations on your new home! Tucson is great for cycling overall, but there are tons of cycling opportunities on the eastside. Make sure to check out the midtown Rillito River Path (I actually have a video out on my channel with footage of that trail), and the eastside Pantano River Park Path. Welcome to Tucson!
Rita Ranch! Air Force, Amazon, and Raytheon employees all live out here plus many more. We live in the Vale School District which is a major plus. Also there is almost everything you would need within a ten mile radius. So I rarely have to leave Rita Ranch. The only problem is houses here are only on the market for 1-3 days right now and rentals are the same.
So true! I love Rita Ranch! I think I’d like to make a video specifically just about Rita Ranch sometime :-) you’re absolutely right, everything is there in that community so you really don’t have to go far to get what you want. Thanks so much for the view and comment and for checking out the channel! 😎🌵☀️
We moved to rita ranch 20 years ago... and I remember when our realtor drove us out to see the house, we were convinced she was driving us out into the desert to murder us :) It has built up a stunning amount in the past two decades. When we first moved here, we only had the safeway and some local pizza place that went out of business. These days, the only thing I can't believe they haven't built yet is a movie theater.
Cool memories! I like Rita Ranch. You’re right; it’s changed a lot in 20 years. At least there’s Galaxy theaters just up Houghton road if you need it. 👍
I went to High School as an AFS (American Field Service International Scholarships, Inc) Exchange Student from Brazil to Catalina High School way back in 67’/68’ school year. I just loved it. I love Tucson and Arizona as well as all the Southwest area of the United States. It’s gorgeous!
By the way, I forgot to mention on thing: while living in Tucson and atending Catalina High School, I was honored with a Sunshine City of Tucson Honorary Citizen beautiful diploma where both a pictural of Tucson and a text are printed - the diploma is a brilliant sheet of copper. Would it be possible not to love this town and its people?
Thanks for your view and comment! Yes I agree Tucson is a very outdoors-friendly city and people who like the outdoors, nature, hiking, biking, camping, etc, will probably like Tucson. I really appreciate your feedback! Have a great weekend!
It’s gorgeous! Definitely one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city! (Unfortunately my own neighborhood didn’t make the list! 😆) Thanks for the view and comment! Glad you enjoyed!
I remember being on the crew that cleared the desert there before we built it. Had a wrangler collect all the rattlesnakes out every morning before we could start working.
Thanks so much for the view, comment, and idea for the video! We actually have a lot of nice apartments here, and several houses for rent as well. I can definitely make a video about best apartments in Tucson but in the meantime, if you have questions about apartments/rentals in Tucson, feel free to give me a call or email me at Kimberly.mihalka@exprealty.com. Thanks!
There are some really nice apartments in the foothills, that’s for sure. And not only will they be nice, but they will also be close to everything: restaurants, shopping, clinics, relatively close to public transportation, etc. thanks for the view and comment!
That’s great that you were always surrounded by mountains! But then again; so is Tucson! It’s gorgeous here! ☺️😎🌵☀️ Thanks for checking out the channel, and for your views and comments!
Tucson Is for sure a hometown to live. I like the far East side and Civano would interest me. I came here back in Sept 2020 and checked out the whole area. The Resort at Gates Pass did have a nice trail I checked out. It has a nice golf course. Most of the homes around town even in the poorer neighborhoods have the charm and color of Mexico and the Southwest feeling welcoming and homey. Other communities like Sahuarita seem very nice without too much traffic along with nearby Green Valley. These areas with some apartments should also be considered only being 20 miles from Tucson, the opposite direction from Oro Valley.
Thanks for your view and comment! You’re right, Sahuarita is a lovely area and I should have included at least one neighborhood from that community in this video. There are a lot of cool neighborhoods in Tucson, some of them are very unique and funky with their own personalized charm. If you plan to purchase a home in Tucson anytime soon, contact me and I’ll help you find something! Have a great weekend!
Thanks for the view and comment! Everyone had a different idea on what it means to be a good place to live but that neighborhood is traditionally higher in crime than other neighborhoods in Tucson, but it’s conveniently located to a lot of cool things in Tucson including the Botanical Gardens and River road, which has a lot of great restaurants and shopping. Feel free to contact me about more specifics on this neighborhood or any others! Thanks again for checking out the video!
thxs for sharing some quality locations in Tucson. I'm looking to purchase a value-add multi family property (20 to 30 units) and I've been researching what Tucson has to offer.
We have apartment complexes all around the city but midtown would probably have the most and there are several near the university. Feel free to reach out to me personally via text, phone call, or email to learn more about the real estate here.
I drive all the time as a real estate agent, and I drive all over the city, and I actually think Tucson traffic is better than some places I’ve visited, but of course, some areas get pretty busy. I’m not sure which roads you are driving on or what time you are driving, but there are definitely times of day where traffic is better than others, of course things are hectic from about 7 in the morning to 9 in the morning and about 4 to 6 PM, while people are driving to and from work, and if you live on the outskirts of town but you work Midtown, you’re going to hit a ton of traffic driving into town in the morning and driving out at the end of the day. There are some roads in the city that tend to be less congested and the longer you live here you will probably learn about them, but feel free to reach out to me personally to tell me more about where you drive and I can maybe give you some ideas for some alternative routes. Some of our roads are more well-maintained than others, some of our roads have more lanes or are less congested… I usually do my best to avoid Grant Road, Broadway, and River Road as often as I can because those roads are always pretty busy but sometimes they can’t be avoided.
@@TucsonArizona thanks for your reply Grant, Broadway, Craycroft and Speedway are in my immediate area. I'm desperately trying to learn some of the back roads if there are such things. LOL. Thank you for mentioning the times of day. I'm slowly figuring that out. I'd love to stay here but I'm worried the traffic is just going to be overwhelming as I notice the difference now that the snow birds are arriving. That's why I was wondering if there's any neighborhoods where I can still have most of the amenities but not have to deal with the very very busy roads.
Yes those are all busy roads especially during certain times of the day. To avoid Grant or Broadway or Speedway, I often take Pima Road or even 5th Street. I usually prefer Wilmot or Swan or Rosemont over Craycroft the further you get to midtown. Good luck to you! 😉
Ha! I’ve thought about doing that but I’m trying to always keep positive on this channel 😆 However I plan to do a few videos in the future “least affordable areas of Tucson” and “crime statistics in Tucson,” so hopefully those videos will speak for themselves! Ha! Thanks for the view and comment! Really appreciate the support!
I really enjoy your videos. I will be relocating to Tucson in the next two weeks. I found at apartment on W Linda Vista Blvd and Thornydale road. Just wondering what your thoughts are about that area.
Hi there! Welcome to Tucson! So glad you enjoy the channel! In that area you will get a good amount of shopping and restaurants and things to do. Architecture tends to be a little older than other parts of the city, which means it will have some cool unique charm. For crime statistics visit neighborhoodscout.com and view a Tucson crime map. If you want to contact me directly (email, call or text), I may be able to tell you more if you have additional specific questions. Thanks again for checking out the channel and for your view and comment! 😁
That’s right in the middle of midtown so there are a ton of great restaurants and things to do right around there; also more congestion and traffic in midtown than the outlying areas. Homes in midtown are generally a little older; I like the architecture there. I recommend checking out the area before moving. Just a straight shot down Speedway to the university. I like all the restaurants and shops at Grant/Swan. Thanks for checking out the channel!
I’m in my 30’s and looking to move to Tucson next year. Where you you recommend as far as appartments? I want night life and grocery convenience but not too expensive.
Thanks for visiting the channel! I don’t really do apartments but downtown Tucson and midtown Tucson are easy access to a lot of night life, groceries, restaurants, shops, etc, but many places in those areas won’t be as expensive as areas further north. I always recommend potential renters visit the website apartments.com. That website has houses, townhomes, condos, and apartments for rent and you can shop by price, pet-friendly, etc. Good luck! Let me know if you have any questions about the city of Tucson or real estate in general!
Hey Dina I just realized I never responded to your comment. I don’t really do a lot of stuff with apartments but as far as an area of town with a lot of nice apartments that is also close to things to do and see, the Catalina foothills area is very nice. Unfortunately it is more expensive. If you can find something on the north east side or the north west side that might check all your boxes as well. Check out the website apartments.com to see what’s available in our rental market. Feel free to call, text, or email me for more information about Tucson and real estate in general!
Thanks so much for the view and comment. I agree that Tucson has gotten more expensive in many areas especially in 2020, with the big housing boom. Starr Pass and the Foothills have certainly gone up in price as well. But there are some lovely homes (and many townhomes or condos), up and down Starr Pass and along Sunrise/Skyline that are well under $250,000, that are close to shopping, restaurants, work, etc, and the views are fantastic, so I wanted to make sure I included those areas in this video so that someone moving to Tucson knows what is available to them on those sides of town. However I love your comment because it gave me a great idea to make a video about “most affordable places to live in Tucson!” Thanks again for your comment and have a fantastic rest of your weekend!
Great video. I'm planning to move to Tucson the end of this year. I plan to rent an apartment for at least a year before buying anything. I am single and will only have a dog with me. Can you recomend any áreas to look at apartments in?
I would need to know more about what you need to be close to before suggesting anything but the Catalina Foothills is close to everything and is a nice area, but is also very expensive. I love all of our suburbs also (each for different reasons). Some people like living near downtown, especially college aged people. So it just depends on what you’re looking for and want to be close to. Check out neighborhoodscout.com/az/Tucson/crime for a crime statistics map. Thanks and welcome to Tucson Arizona!
Hey can u tell me about s pantano rd neighborhoods I'm trying to choose between houses and I wanna know if I should rent in that area or should I avoid
Hey there! I know Pantano Road well but some areas are traditionally “better” than others. (Pantano Road is a pretty wide stretch). Why don’t you reach out to me to discuss further? You can email, call, or text me. All my contact information is in the description below the video. I look forward to speaking with you!
You pretty much missed the southwest side completely except a bit of Starr Pass. There are literally thousands of houses and great subdivisions just a stone's throw from Casino Del Sol. Maybe you've covered those areas in a later video?
I’ve done a lot of auburn and neighborhood videos but I’m actually working on a script for another now. What are your favorite southwest neighborhoods?
You read my mind! That one will be coming up in the near future! I looove Sahuarita; it has something for everyone. Thanks so much for the feedback-now that you commented I’ll be moving my Sahuarita video up higher on my list 😉 Really appreciate the comment and view! Have a great day!
There are a lot of cool midtown neighborhoods that are very nice but they tend to be very expensive. Eastside Tucson is still very close to DMAFB and a lot of homes in the 85710 and 85730 zip codes are a little older and less expensive than other areas. A lot of people who work at Davis Monthan also live in Rita Ranch, a neighborhood just to the southeast. It’s not far from DM and the schools are fantastic, and the homes are relatively less expensive than other areas in Tucson.
@@TucsonArizona thank you for answering you are awesome I've been to Rita Ranch it's kind of cookie cutter I was thinking maybe Terra Del Sol or Corbett or Desert Palms Park please let me know what you think and thanks again
Thanks so much for your view and comment! Please email me to touch base about more details (Kimberly.mihalka@exprealty.com), but if you want to take the city bus the link to that information is here: www.suntran.com/routes.php. There are also certain areas that you could live and easily bicycle or even walk to work. Reach out to me to discuss specifics for your situation. Thanks so much again and I look forward to hearing from you!
Hi there! There are a lot of fantastic neighborhoods in both of those suburbs. I have TH-cam videos out about Marana and Oro Valley, so feel free to check those out after this one, but in general, Oro Valley has a slew of fantastic, 55+ communities, including Sun City, and Rancho Vistoso, and Copper Creek are both fantastic as well. In Marana, I love Dove Mountain and Gladden Farms, but they have some other great neighborhoods also. Feel free to check out the videos about Marana in Oro Valley on this TH-cam channel and call me or email me with additional questions. Thanks!
Onr thing about Tucson is there isnt enough sidewalks. Being a pedestrian who uses the buses. It is a safety hazard to not have sidewalks. and to make them wide. The people who put in the sidewalks also arent thinking the place a light pole sometimes right in the center of the walk. for a blind person that is a Hazard. Also the landscape persons who make things ergonomic. They fill far too many rocks next to a sidewalk and bicyclists go over the rocks and get them scattered over the walk. The monsoon does this also. With a little planning this could be prevented. It makes the walkway slippery. You can fall just like black ice. Mention the bus routes on the tours not all homeowners are car drivers.. have a good day..President Joe infrastructure bill will hopefully fix potholes. Which are a known hazard for cars. The blind person who uses a long cane the potholes can cause a while cane to get caught in the pothole or where parking lots are pitted with holes or uneven or not even paved surface. I have broke one to a parklot where it was so pitted with holes. I snapped a cane . This will be good to see roads fixed. More buses and jobs for people .
Good point about the sidewalks. There are certain areas that don’t have any sidewalks or the sidewalks are not in good condition. I feel that the newer parts of the city tend to have better sidewalks, and of course the areas that are closer to the loop tend to have them as well. Certain areas eastside and west side, The sidewalk areas are almost nonexistent. Thanks for checking out the channel!
That is a very good question. The main thing I can say about scorpions is that just like with other animals, if you remove their food source from your home, and if you seal up all the cracks and make it difficult for them to get inside, will definitely see if you were of them. That’s what I’ve always been told by pest inspector’s. If you are concerned at all I recommend hiring a pest company to spray for pests especially in the summertime, because that is when they tend to come out the most. Thanks for the view and comment!
Thanks for the question, that is a little bit tough to answer because different people have different ideas on what a “ neighborhood” is, and different people have different ideas on what is considered part of Tucson, but in my research I have found that Tucson consists of about 200 neighborhoods. That does not include the communities/suburbs outside of the city of Tucson limits. Feel free to reach out to me personally if you have specific questions about the city itself and would like to learn more! Thank you for checking out the channel! 😎🌵☀️
I am moving to Tucson, I really desire friendly neighbors and a sense of community. I am 50 something, grown daughter moving with me, I don't know a soul in Tucson, and will be working from home via internet. I visited in April, besides just feeling at home in Tucson (having lived in New Mexico), I fell in love with the area. I saw homes in Oro Valley and Catalina Foothills. I I do want to get to know people and I am friendly and social. Have 2 dogs and love to walk with them. Any thoughts or suggestions I love the Santa Fe style home, and would prefer a Southwest type architecture-however I also found Winter Haven cool too. I am active and single -I don't want to feel isolated. I subscribed to your channel. Thanks so much! your video's are great!
Thanks so much for the feedback! I’m glad you enjoyed Tucson when you visited! Feel free to call or email me to talk specifics about Tucson and real estate in general!
Green Valley seems to be a nice RETIREMENT COMMUNITY. WHAT DO YOU THINK ??? THANK YOU, LYNDA SCHULTZ ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA PS WE ALSO NEED TO KNOW WHAT PART OF TUCSON ALLOWS HORSES 🐎🐎🐎 thx, Ly
Green Valley is a great retirement community. I haven’t made a video about it yet but one is in the works :-) there are a lot of places in Tucson that allow horses, especially as you get further to the outskirts of town, and especially eastside Tucson. If you would like me to set you up on a home search for properties that allow horses, feel free to reach out to me. All my contact information is in the description below each video on this channel. Thanks for the view and comment! 😁
Would you happen to know of any really cool AIRBNB houses with a private pool in the Catalina foot hills area or close to it. Im planning a 5 night stay the 1st week of April. Thanks
Unfortunately I really don’t… People ask me all the time about the places to stay in Tucson but since I live here I’ve really never stayed in many of our hotels or resorts or vacation rentals! 😆 I can say that probably any place that you get in the Catalina foothills is going to be lovely, but I would recommend that if you’re staying at a place with a pool, make sure it is a heated pool because it will be chilly in April. Enjoy!!! 🌵🌵🌵
Thanks for the view and comment. I actually have a video coming out today about Tucson’s water supply and drought in our city and state 👍 Thanks for checking out the channel!
Reach out to me directly and we’ll talk. We definitely have manufactured homes and condos in that price range, and you can get houses that price too depending on size and area.
is Arizona making improvements about the droughts and water shortage? in the next years if in Arizona can't find a form to get better the water supplying, the state will not have water, incluiding Nevada, Calfornia, Colorado, and New Mexico
Thanks for the view and comment. Water in the desert has been a topic and focus of the state for decades. Tucson and Arizona have a lot of water recycling and reduction programs in place to help conserve water. Tucson has a lot of underground aquifers here. I get a lot of questions about this topic and I have a video out about water in Arizona and Tucson specifically, so check it out after this one! Thanks!
@@TucsonArizona thanks for answering me, would be great to have information about this topic because for example if I want to buy a house there I would like to make sure that I will have water in the next years
Hi there, I would love to help you with any questions you have about Tucson but I don’t specialize in rentals. I always recommend renters check out the websiteapartments.com to view houses, townhomes, condos, and apartments for rent in Tucson and the surrounding areas. You can search by price, Area of town, size, and even pet-friendly. Reach out to me if you have any specific questions about the city or schools or anything like that. I’d love to speak more with you!
Hello! I believe you are referring to the subdivision just north of the Tucson Airport, correct? This is a relatively new (most homes built between 2005-2010), fairly affordable neighborhood, (most homes under $200,000, although they can range up to around $225,000). This neighborhood is on south side Tucson. I recommend checking out the website neighborhoodscout.com for specific crime statistics. The homes are located in the Sunnyside school district, and for more info on the individual schools I recommend the website greatschools.org. The homes themselves in Tres Pueblos are pretty cute. The HOA dues are about $28/month. Let me know if you have any other questions about this neighborhood or any others! Have a great day!
Great! Even if you aren’t ready to buy yet, let me know if you need the contact info for some great local lenders who can give you information about what you qualify for, what type of interest rate you could get, etc. Thanks so much and have a great day!
I'm looking into moving to Tucson, first renting for few months, i read lot about Tucson is not safe place on internet . Do you have any recommendations , to retire , safe, enough outdoor activities to rent and then also to buy in lower 200 range communities . Appropriate your response .
Hello, that’s a good idea to rent first no matter where you move to. There are definitely better areas of Tucson that are nicer, newer, and safer. Some of the suburbs were rated some of the safest cities in Arizona in a 2020 study. I recommend checking out neighborhoodscout.com for crime statistics for the area. Contact me if you want to discuss more details about Tucson (my contact info is in the description below the video), or check out some of my other videos. Thank you and have a great rest of your weekend!
It’s part of the Tucson area and I would consider those to be suburbs of Tucson… I absolutely love both those communities and I definitely should have included them on this video…I have a video out just on Sahuarita. I find a lot of buyers preferring that town over Tucson especially because homes are newer and more affordable
Hey there! Thanks for checking out the channel! I have a whole video on crime rates in Tucson and the surrounding areas. You can check out that video for more info! I also recommend various websites including the crime map on neighborhoodscout.com. Contact me for more specifics. All my contact info is in the description below the videos. Thanks! 😎🌵☀️
Yes, I love that area! That’s the Tanque Verde area, and the school district is great, the parks are nice, and the views are gorgeous! I plan to make a video on that area very soon; thanks for the view and comment!
My email address is Kimberly.mihalka@exprealty.com. I’m on What’sApp as Kimberly Mihalka but I’m not very active on What’sApp so the fastest way to reach me is email. Thanks!
In this video, I believe most or all of these neighborhoods have homeowners association‘s. In Tucson it’s getting more and more common especially in newer neighborhoods, that there are HOA’s. Some people like them and some people don’t. We still have plenty of homes for sale that do not have a homeowners association but those homes are generally older. Thanks so much for checking out the channel!
I like that community. Most of those homes were built in the ‘90s I believe, and you get a lot for the HOA dues. The community offers a lot. I don’t live there but it sounds like it’s a very friendly neighborhood in Marana. Thanks for the view and comment!
You are absolutely right! I love Sahuarita! Thanks so much for your view and comment! As a matter of fact I am planning to make a video in the near future specifically just about Sahuarita. It’s so lovely and there is so much there and I honest couldn’t just pick one specific neighborhood to focus on so I thought I’d just make it it’s own video. (But when I think about it now I should have at least mentioned it in this video so thanks so much for this feedback). Keep tuning in for more content! I really appreciate the views!
Hello, I believe that is a new community with new construction homes currently being built in Marana. I have not toured any of those homes but I like the community of Marana overall. For more specific crime statistics, I recommend the website neighborhoodscout.com. Let me know if I can research anything for you or answer other questions about other communities! Thank you!
Thanks for your view and comment. Yes, the homes are closer together and the HOA dues are higher in this community than a lot of other places in Tucson. I still think it's cool that Tucson has a community with all the gardens/recycling options/neighborhood feel like Civano. And I think Civano homes are cool, (I like the architecture). The nice thing is, Tucson is very diverse and there are a lot of Tucson homes that are very different from anything in Civano, if that's not what a person is looking for. There's something for everyone here! Thanks and have a great day!
Hi there! I recommend neighborhoodscout.com to check out individual neighborhoods for crime and safety statistics. Let me know if I can research anything else for you or answer any other questions for you!
@@TucsonArizona Were moving in March to Tucson.. We are not Rich and looking to rent found a few places in Oro valley ... Best advice on Oro Valley VS in East Tucson?
Welcome to Tucson! Oro valley may be more expensive than most areas on the eastside but oro valley is awesome and overall the homes tend to be newer than many other areas of town and oro valley was ranked as one of the top 10 safest Arizona cities last year. Northeast side tends to be a little more expensive than east or southeast but the area is very lovely. East side (houghton/golf links and nearby areas) and southeast (Rita ranch) tend to be less expensive. Southeast side has award-winning Vail School District. Oro valley and pretty much anywhere eastside have amazing Mountain View’s. Eastside has some pretty cool hiking and northeast side is close to mount lemmon if you enjoy camping. Overall I really like oro valley and most of eastside Tucson but if you need east access to the freeway oro valley and southeast Tucson will be best. Eastside and southeast side will tend to be less expensive than oro valley and northeast side in general. Check out neighborhoodscout.com for crime statistics in specific neighborhoods. Good luck!!! 😁 Let me know if I can help in any other way!
Hi there! I can make a video about this town in the near future but Benson is a small town (about 5-6,000 people) about a 30 minute drive southeast of Tucson. I don’t travel there often and my real estate license does not allow me to sell real estate in that county, but the little bit of time I have spent there, it seems like a cute town with big blue skies 😊. Most of the homes and land are much more affordable than anything you could purchase in Tucson. I recommend checking out neighborhoodscout.com for crime statistics in that area. Thank you so much for your view and comment! Keep coming back for more content about Tucson, Arizona and the surrounding areas! I post Arizona videos every Thursday! Have a great day! ☺️
I would suggest the Arizona Inn, just north of Saint Peter & Paul church on Campbell. Certainly the best old inn anywhere in the Tucson area. Just north of that is the Catalina Vista neighborhood, where Margaret Sanger, John D. Rockefeller Jr. (who died there In 1950), the Mayo brothers and the Dodge Brothers all had homes. Also, Joseph Bonano the old crime boss from New York, but this was in the 1960s.
@@TucsonArizona Me too ❤️ Would go there almost everyday during the summer growing up 🙂 Ugh I miss it 😢 I live in VA and only came there to spend the summer with either my dad or grandparents
@@TucsonArizona Thank you ❤️ One day I’ll come visit lol. Not sure if I’m ready to deal with the heat there lol. When I was young I could tolerate it but now that I’m older ugh not so good. But I promise one day I will. I miss Reid park, Mount Lemmon and my grandpas house
Nobody who was born here can afford to buy a house cause its a California market. Who can afford a house when you get paid minimum wage. 20 years ago houses were affordable.
I agree our homes have definitely gone up in price in the past year or two, but most cities’ real estate prices have gone up a lot recently because of the inventory shortage. Fortunately we’re not nearly as expensive as California. I am seeing a lot of buyers moving here from California but I also get a lot of buyers from Idaho, Seattle, Portland, Colorado, and many other places. Thanks for the view and comment!
Midtown, that sounds funny today. I remember when Swan was a dirt road north of Grant. LOL.
Wow what great memories! That’s what I remember about Marana and Sahuarita crom my childhood! My parents are both born and raised Tucsonans as well; they may remember Swan being a dirt road… makes you wonder what else will be built up around here in the future… thanks for the view and comment!
I grew up at grant and swan. my parents are still there. Pretty decent area!
Lots of stuff to do and see in that area for sure!

Hi excellent! I’m so glad you like the videos!
I just spent last weekend with my cousin. She lives in the neighborhood right next to Ranch del Lago. We love the Vail area. It was the second time visiting in the last 10 years.
How cool! I love Rancho Del Lago, and I love Vail overall! Thanks so much for viewing and commenting! Many more Tucson videos to come!!!

We have lived in Tucson Estates. A wonderful 55+ community. A 18 hole golf course, two pools and many extras. Love living here
I ♥️ Tucson Estates. Great community!
Very cool 😎
Wow , thank you so much for this informative clip ❤️
Absolutely! Thank you for checking out the channel!
foothills are great, I live close by there, orange grove and ina. Monsoons are great and this monsoon is way better than 2020!
I love the foothills too…and I also love our monsoons this year so much more than last! Thanks so much for the view and comment!
Thinking of Green Valley. My wife and I went there last Christmas and we really liked it. We are in our 60’s and looking to retire there.
Very nice area. I have several videos on this channel about our suburbs and Green Valley in particular. Thanks so much for checking out the channel!
Favorite for great architecture from 1860s, mixed cultures, walking distance to fine food and art: Barrio Viejo. Yea
That’s close to a lot of really good restaurants 😋
I went to High School as an AFS (American Field Service International Scholarships, Inc) Exchange Student from Brazil to Catalina High School way back in 67’/68’ school year. I just loved it. I love Tucson and Arizona as well as all the Southwest area of the United States. It’s gorgeous!
I love it here too!
That’s awesome!!!
Are you related to the New Jersey crime family?
Panorama Estates is the absolute best
Thanks so much for the view and comment! Really appreciate the insight!
Been in Tucson 30 years and loved it
If you're not an outdoors person I don't think you will like it
Time to move on. Arkansas Ozarks. Baby.
Thanks for your view and comment! Yes I agree Tucson is a very outdoors-friendly city and people who like the outdoors, nature, hiking, biking, camping, etc, will probably like Tucson. I really appreciate your feedback! Have a great weekend!
That 49ers country club area looks awesome! Wow...
That’s cool. I’m sure there were a ton of snakes out there at the time, (probably still are! LOL!)
What about the best apartments in Tucson for the ones that cant buy yet? :)
Thanks!
If you're looking for a nice apartment, anything from River north is going to be the best.
There are some really nice apartments in the foothills, that’s for sure. And not only will they be nice, but they will also be close to everything: restaurants, shopping, clinics, relatively close to public transportation, etc. thanks for the view and comment!
I grew up outside of Vail, right against the mountains, then we had a house on St. Patrick and Oasis near the Catalinas.
That’s great that you were always surrounded by mountains! But then again; so is Tucson! It’s gorgeous here! ☺️😎🌵☀️ Thanks for checking out the channel, and for your views and comments!
My brother used to live on Nightfall Ave. Off of Broadway just north of Houghton Rd. Nice house in a real nice neighborhood.
I love that area!
@@TucsonArizona he retired, downsized and moved to Vail.
Ok cool! Another great area!
Great video! Do you have any thoughts on the Cabrini neighborhood? Is it a good place to live?
Sabino Canyon. La Paloma. Sunrise. Catalina Foothills.
I love all those areas too! It's too hard to pick just one community in the Foothills; they're all gorgeous. Thanks so much for the view and comment!
Thanks cfc
Thanks for the comment, cowboy from Colorado!
Thanks for the cool video. I'm new here N.E. side. I love it but not the driving. Is there any area nearby where the traffic is not so congested?
Found your channel yesterday and so far I'm really enjoying it. You should do a video on the worst places to live in Tucson. :)
@@TucsonArizona haha yeha that might bring some negativity. Anxious to watch those since we are considering Tucson. Keep up the good work!
I’ve got one coming out tomorrow about best things about living in Tucson! Hope you like it!
Can't go wrong with high value places..Location is key. Vail, Foothills, Oro Valley area are the prime locations.
I really like those areas too. Thanks for the view and comment! ❤️
you may have done this one already, but I would like to see a video about the best Mexican restaurants in town. 🤤
I haven’t done this yet but I’ve been meaning to for a very long time! 😁😋 Thanks for the reminder that I need to work on that!
any thoughts on the Swan Way Park neighborhood? I’ve been looking in Miramonte mostly or Blenman for the vicinity to University amenities
Don't do it go to Pheonix
Hey Dina I just realized I never responded to your comment. I don’t really do a lot of stuff with apartments but as far as an area of town with a lot of nice apartments that is also close to things to do and see, the Catalina foothills area is very nice. Unfortunately it is more expensive. If you can find something on the north east side or the north west side that might check all your boxes as well. Check out the website apartments.com to see what’s available in our rental market. Feel free to call, text, or email me for more information about Tucson and real estate in general!
Starr Pass and the Catalina Foothills are both Uber expensive. No Sale.
@@TucsonArizona Thank you for all the wonderful information.
My pleasure!!!
Please do a video on Sahuarita!!
You read my mind! That one will be coming up in the near future! I looove Sahuarita; it has something for everyone. Thanks so much for the feedback-now that you commented I’ll be moving my Sahuarita video up higher on my list 😉 Really appreciate the comment and view! Have a great day!

What is a decent area near Davis-Monthan Air Force Base looking for an older neighborhood kind of quiet not real expensive
@@TucsonArizona thank you for answering you are awesome I've been to Rita Ranch it's kind of cookie cutter I was thinking maybe Terra Del Sol or Corbett or Desert Palms Park please let me know what you think and thanks again

can you advise about marana and oro valley neighborhoods
Do you have any fireworks right on any 4th of July?
Hello, there’s typically a Fourth of July firework show on or near A mountain that can be seen from all over the city. Enjoy!
As a realtor do you know what areas have less scorpion problems?

😆 I can say that probably any place that you get in the Catalina foothills is going to be lovely, but I would recommend that if you’re staying at a place with a pool, make sure it is a heated pool because it will be chilly in April. is Arizona making improvements about the droughts and water shortage? in the next years if in Arizona can't find a form to get better the water supplying, the state will not have water, incluiding Nevada, Calfornia, Colorado, and New Mexico
Thanks for the view and comment. Water in the desert has been a topic and focus of the state for decades. Tucson and Arizona have a lot of water recycling and reduction programs in place to help conserve water. Tucson has a lot of underground aquifers here. What do you think about the neighborhood tres pueblos?

It’s part of the Tucson area and I would consider those to be suburbs of Tucson… I absolutely love both those communities and I definitely should have included them on this video…I have a video out just on Sahuarita. I’ll add it to the list!
Pueblo Gardens used to be in the late 60s. Not anymore. Really sad
Continental Ranch?
I like that community. Most of those homes were built in the ‘90s I believe, and you get a lot for the HOA dues. The community offers a lot. I don’t live there but it sounds like it’s a very friendly neighborhood in Marana. Thanks for the view and comment!
Why does no one ever speak about Sahuarita? Is it good place since it seems like it has everything?
You are absolutely right! I love Sahuarita! Thanks so much for your view and comment! As a matter of fact I am planning to make a video in the near future specifically just about Sahuarita. It’s so lovely and there is so much there and I honest couldn’t just pick one specific neighborhood to focus on so I thought I’d just make it it’s own video. (But when I think about it now I should have at least mentioned it in this video so thanks so much for this feedback). Keep tuning in for more content! I really appreciate the views!
Because it's a retirement community. You can only rent there if you are 55+.
@@ryancallihan2886 I think you are thinking of Green Valley.
@@leemar91 green valley too
Oro Valley
I love Oro Valley! I'm going to do an entire video just on that community hopefully in the next month or so. Thanks for your view and comment!
Flavor of India ( oro Valley)
I’ve never eaten there but I’ve heard the restaurant is great! Thanks for the view and comment!
Tucson. Nice nice place to liv
Thanks so much! I think so too! I love it here! 😎🌵☀️❤️
Gladden Farms ?
Hello, I believe that is a new community with new construction homes currently being built in Marana. I have not toured any of those homes but I like the community of Marana overall. For more specific crime statistics, I recommend the website neighborhoodscout.com. Let me know if I can research anything for you or answer other questions about other communities! Thank you!
85718 zip! Best schools beat location it’s honestly like living in resort!
That’s a nice area 👍
Sliver bell n speedway or dodge n alvernon
I really like the Grant/Silverbell area. 😊 Thanks for the view and comment!
At my moms house I live at the star pass apartments
Very pretty out there, gorgeous views of Saguaro National Park West!
Civano sucks, has a huge HOA and the homes are too close to each other.
Indian Ridge Historic District
I like that area as well! Thank you for the view and comment! Have a great day!
The city is killing the Civano businesses by tightening the "dual zoning" requirements. The coffee shop is gone.
Best Apartments in Tucson in a safe area??
Tanque Verde.
❤️ it!!! 🌵🌵🌵
Oro Valley @flavor of India
Hi I will like to know about benson az
That's a trailer park town.
Lots of cool history here! Thank you for reminding us! And I LOVE the Arizona Inn!
Good luck finding water 💧 to flush your investment.
My face is Rolling Hills!!
Eastside!!! Nice! 😊😊😊
Plenty of desert to tear up!
Yep, we are definitely known for our deserts, mountains, sunrises, and sunsets!!!! 😍 Thanks for the view and comment!
"to tear up"? I hope you mean that figuratively 😊
😁
Casas Adobes?
I love Casas Adobes and should do a video on it… thanks for the reminder! I’ll add it to the list!
@@TucsonArizona thank you very much. I subscribe and watch all the time.
E 20th st up street from Reid park
I love Reid Park! 🥰
@@TucsonArizona Me too ❤️ Would go there almost everyday during the summer growing up 🙂 Ugh I miss it 😢 I live in VA and only came there to spend the summer with either my dad or grandparents
Awesome. You’re always welcome to come back!
I hear ya 😅
Nobody who was born here can afford to buy a house cause its a California market. Who can afford a house when you get paid minimum wage. 20 years ago houses were affordable.
I agree our homes have definitely gone up in price in the past year or two, but most cities’ real estate prices have gone up a lot recently because of the inventory shortage. Fortunately we’re not nearly as expensive as California. I am seeing a lot of buyers moving here from California but I also get a lot of buyers from Idaho, Seattle, Portland, Colorado, and many other places. Thanks for the view and comment!
