    I grew up off Wentworth Road near Reddington. My parents have been in the same house for about 45 years out there. Their house is about a football field away from the new Tanque Verde elementary. I went to the old T.V. which is now the new Emily Gray jr high. The old Emily gray I went to is now Tanque Verde highschool. I graduated Sabino in 96 and all these changes make me feel old, hehe.

    We lived off of Broadway on north belvedere. Tried to Google the house we lived in but it's gone.looks like a large commercial business building there now from the picture. Used to be a circle k on the corner. I remember Catalina foothills. When I was young I did yard work for an elderly woman. My uncle worked with her daughter. That's how I got the job. Loved the house !! Very beautiful piece of land!! Almost like in the country!! Classic Sonoran desert!! Lots of cacti, paloverde & mesquite trees. And wildlife. I don't know about now, but it sure was beautiful then!! I remember her paying me to dig up chollas from the wash below her house and plant them under her windows cause she had someone looking in her window. I have to say I earned that 10 dollar bill!!! Ouch!!! Hahaha!! To this day i still love cacti and desert plants!! So much that i have a 12 x 25 x 10 greenhouse here in the Ozarks just full of them!!! I have a channel all about them. If you wish to see them just go to my channel! From Morris Park in the Ozarks, have a wonderful evening!!!

    Spot on, Kimberly! I'd Like to add that Rancho Vistoso in Oro Valley is a really nice community. Also, I can vouch for you on how nice SaddleBrooke is too. Considered an "active adult community" residents must be 45 years old minimum to live here. And being so close to the Catalina Mountains, sightings of javelina, bob cats, coyotes, road runners and mule deer are pretty common.

They walked into El Minidito and ran into my cousin who lived next to the To hono Odom reservation. If I can convince my NY born wife to move, I’d move to Tucson (my birthplace) in a NY minute. What’s the town with great schools and close to military? Hard to understand

    • @TucsonArizona
      @TucsonArizona  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Davis Monthan Air Force Base is located right in the middle of the city of Tucson so pretty much anywhere you live you will have fairly easy access. However, a lot of military (active and retired) live in the unincorporated area of Vail (or at least in the Vail school district) on Tucson Southeast side, because that school district is one of the top school districts in the state, and that area is sort of a midpoint to both Davis Monthan Air Force Base, and Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista. Thanks for the view and comment!

    Marana is where it's at. Foothills is nice too better if you have the money . Grew up in Continental ranch in Marana moved there from Phoenix when it was a two-lane road and only a Burger King shell and McDonald's on cortaro and I-10. Watched it blow up growing up in population and everything. Worked with an organization and we got BMX access for all the kids now to ride their bikes in the skatepark way back in the day when I was still 18. Now kids could ride there without getting arrested like they used to arrest us just for riding bikes

    how bout sierra vista az?

    • @TucsonArizona
      @TucsonArizona  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn’t really consider Sierra Vista to be a suburb of Tucson because it’s about a good hour and 10-30 mins from the middle of Tucson and all the other places mentioned in this video are no more than about 30-40 minutes from midtown Tucson. But Sierra Vista is a town in Arizona that is located in Cochise county. I have spent a Little bit of time there, but I do not know much about the town and I do not work or sell real estate in that town so typically when people ask me questions about it, I refer them to another realtor in my brokerage that works and specializes in that town. I’ve done extensive research and have been to every area of Tucson for work purposes since 2016. I can tell you in todays market if you want a safe area with a relatively moderate home your looking at around $600,000. I know they claim you can get a lower price area, however be warned! Most areas of Tucson are now experiencing very high crime and homeless people wondering the areas living in alleys and yards. The traffic is completely out of control . Roads are in extreme poor condition. We don’t have enough stores to supply the needs of the current population let alone the growth. Also we are having water and electricity shortage. If your thinking about Oro Valley it’s very nice but is almost completely retired population. They also have very bad traffic, including the Catalina area. Vail is nice area , but the traffic and not enough stores for the current population. Due to the demographics and grid I left . Believe me it’s only going to get worse!

    • @MTknitter22
      @MTknitter22 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, these realtors overdo the positive for obvious reasons. Truth is, Tucson is run by open borders believing democrats and the politics is important to know. We lived there in the 70’s and I thank God we enjoyed the city it was then. Old original Old Tucson and movie making going on, traffic not bad, beautiful foothills that were not populated with giant homes. Now because of border, cartels, crime, Tucson prices of 500K up neighborhoods probably only safe places.

    • @AZbarbu1
      @AZbarbu1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MTknitter22. Huh. Interesting. We moved here from the Bay Area in 2007. We fell in love with Oro Valley after visiting my sister in Saddlebrooke. We hate golfing, but love bicycling , so OV was a natural. I also keep busy as a traveling notary, so I've seen all the areas mentioned. Virtually all the newer area have gone into overdrive with new housing, lots of schools and incredible new restaurants. I have never felt any sense of threat in my travels around the area. Now, saying that, there are areas where, clearly, people like their privacy and may have an unsigned house in a rural area. Respect that. We have people from many backgrounds. It's part of the Southwest tradition to be open and respectful to others, which is much of the Southern Arizona charm.
