The gun cabinet was always a staple piece of furniture where I’m from. I'm convinced this movie is about Michael's artistic exploration. He's finding new and unique ways to kill then stands back to look at his work, tilting his head in contemplation. He takes the time to carefully arrange bodies for exhibition. He's not just a monstrous killer, he's also clearly a misunderstood artist.
There actually was a reason in the old Halloween 2. It was part of the whole druid cult bit, looking at how things died for portents of the future or what not, and also why he only acts on Halloween. Though that's just why he does the head-tilt watching thing, not really why he would go out of his way to add more knives or set things up decoratively.

He’s curious about his own work and likes to take different angles to appreciate them. He’s always set his kills up in interesting ways. Loomis and the nurse find traces of Michael in a classroom or something where he'd written "Samhain", and it goes into a brief discussion on it referencing Halloween, and the Druids who would observe the dead for portents of the future. More was done with that from 4-6, but bringing in the druidism to begin with was actually part of 2. Probably about a third of the way into the movie, before the nurse gives the sister reveal.
I never understood Michael's powers. Sometimes he is bullet proof and heat proof. Sometimes you can hit him with a bag of bricks and he reels but dosent fall. Other times you can stab him with a pitchfork and he falls down as if dead.
This new continuity is so inconsistent. At least with the two _Halloween II_ timelines they were building off Michael being some kind of supernaturally imbued monster that film had retroactively established. Now they seem to want it both ways, making human in some regards and a _Halloween II_ esque invulnerable entity in others.
Its ambiguous. Its not spelled out for us but too many instances have shown Michael to be more than a man. Maybe Halloween Ends will answer questions since its the end of this trilogy.

Now if they revealed "this specific thing will kill this guy" and then it _doesn't_ kill him because of a completely not revealed until that moment asspull, THAT is plot armor. Meyers has pretty much always been suggested to be "more than human", perhaps something akin to a force of nature.
I'm surprised no sins were taken off for the scene between Michael and the firefighters. That was epic. Also, fire hoses have an immense amount of pressure. That was shown to reiterate just how strong Michael is.
Agreed, but it should have had a little setup. Someone being clipped by the spray and flailing down to show the power of it. Most people dont realize how powerful water is when under pressure. So would just see him essentially getting a shower

These most recent Halloween reboots (2018, Kills, and Ends) are fundamentally flawed because they both want to play up Michael Myers as a supernatural force of evil who has been terrorizing Haddonfield and Laurie's family for 40 years, and have him be a dude who killed a few people on Halloween and then got locked up uneventfully for 40 years.
Thats what im saying a guy killed 5 people 40 years ago. People are STILL haunted about it this this level? and they speak like he was a immortal being that they knew he could do this. Major flaw. Because if they were that mad about it. They could of just burned down the place where they had him a long time ago. why wait until he escaped to all of a sudden get pumped up about it.

Bro, the head-tilt was initially an evocative moment but it transformed into more of an affection. It continues to be a real projection of humanity onto MM. This head-tilt for example seems to express kind of a world-weary indifference.

Tbf even in numbers they aren't safe, if Michael actually was in the hospital he would have been able to kill every person regardless of number. Atleast he hid from people in the previous movies, in this he just kills nonstop and no one even seems to fear death

Another sin that probably should be added is how did the fire department know Laurie's house was on fire? By the previous movie's logic Laurie cut herself off from civilization, and heck had blow torches setup around the rooms to burn Michael to a crisp should he find her. I highly doubt she would have continued to have smoke detectors in her home if she really was adamant about killing Michael.
I actually loved the fashback and Loomis' look. I really thought that was Donald Pleasance. Amazing. But I agree on most sins. Like the woman with the iron ahahaa
Tommy was watching the news that whole scene. Shouldn't he have seen the difference in size and overall look between Myers and the innocent patient calling for help? Their inmate photographs were clearly displayed for him to see how Michael could be identified, especially height wise. Just feel bad for the mental patient who was asking for help, both in the movie and in real life.

I still enjoy the tilt-head. And that Michael makes art displays out of his victims. Adds to his personality as a trickster and someone who embraces the spooky season, and not just a killing machine.

Opening credits on Halloween Ends were really cool. Carved Pumpkins bursting out of other carved pumpkins and then the final shot of pumpkin guts covered in blood. So cool.
When that chick shot herself due to Michael kicking the door at her, it lost me and I hated the rest bc suddenly all the characters became completely idiotic. Hopefully Halloween Ends is better
What really annoyed me about this movie is that the idea of the entire town taking up arms to take down Myers SHOULD have worked. Literally everyone would be on alert knowing Michael is back in town, and they know he's way too dangerous for a small group of people to handle, AND they would be determined enough to want to stop him once and for all. The ONLY reason this didn't end Michael is because of this damn writing.

I grew up with firemen. I lived in a firehouse. And the fact that the sin wasn't for the fact that Michelle Myers was able to walk, let alone STAND after being hit by the hose. Was the real sin. Showed that too my mom and she went "nah he would be on the ground."

My main question I was mentally screaming when the mob was attacking Myers like “Noooooo, why did you stop?!?” If Myers had that level of immortal notoriety I would have used the “wood chipper into a tank of piranhas” method that taskmaster and Bullseye used to try to kill Deadpool. Then I would have gone a step further by sending every piranha separately all over the world to different locations, before tying a brick to Myer’s mask and dropping it in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
I love when they make this big dramatic scene of Karen pulling out a knife and you think she might like stab him in the brain or cut his head off or something but instead she just stabs him in the shoulder.

0:48 Actually, I think they're alluding to Michael's supernatural abilities, which he's had since the original film. Seriously, not only does Michael teleport in the original, but he also uses telekinesis by opening and closing doors and even unlocking car doors without a key. But people forget that. That being said, Halloween Kills is perhaps the absolute worst in terms of writing. It's a shame because it has many excellent technical aspects, from cinematography, to set design, to soundtrack.. but the writing (which is one of the most important aspects) is so terrible that it actually ruins the film.

That's not unique to this franchise, it's what Hollywood does now. At least Michael Myers is still a white bloke! Give it a couple of years, they'll alter his race, gender or sexuality, then when it bombs at the box office they'll blame the fans and accuse them of being "racist", "sexist" or "homophobic". I always take issue when people are like "why are they fighting one on one when there are plenty of them" this is a real thing that happens. For what ever reason when people fight against one person in a mob if they don't immediately tackle the person and are instead looking to injure the person they will typically do this. There is only of my favorite examples of this in a show where they had 3 master fencers try to fight 100 novices and the novices did largely the same thing, to which the master fencers said made it easier. (It was a whole "could the 3 musketeers really take on 100 men?" Thing)

The guy who plays loomis movie actually didn't need cgi or any type of prosthetics, he just looks REALLY similar to the actor. He was actually I think one of their costume designers or make up crew guys.

These most recent Halloween reboots (2018, Kills, and Ends) are fundamentally flawed because they both want to play up Michael Myers as a supernatural force of evil who has been terrorizing Haddonfield and Laurie's family for 40 years, and have him be a dude who killed a few people on Halloween and then got locked up uneventfully for 40 years.
Thats what im saying a guy killed 5 people 40 years ago. People are STILL haunted about it this this level? and they speak like he was a immortal being that they knew he could do this. Major flaw. Because if they were that mad about it. They could of just burned down the place where they had him a long time ago. why wait until he escaped to all of a sudden get pumped up about it.
They wanted the notoriety of all the sequels to build up MM and borrow MANY of the plots and shots and even character arcs. YET decanonized them AND shat on them, like they made something superior 🤨.

Bro, the head-tilt was initially an evocative moment but it transformed into more of an affection. It continues to be a real projection of humanity onto MM. This head-tilt for example seems to express kind of a world-weary indifference.

Another sin that probably should be added is how did the fire department know Laurie's house was on fire? By the previous movie's logic Laurie cut herself off from civilization, and heck had blow torches setup around the rooms to burn Michael to a crisp should he find her. I highly doubt she would have continued to have smoke detectors in her home if she really was adamant about killing Michael.
Possibly a neighbor saw it. Smoke from a house fire, even if you can't see the fire itself, is hard to miss

Tommy was watching the news that whole scene. Shouldn't he have seen the difference in size and overall look between Myers and the innocent patient calling for help? Their inmate photographs were clearly displayed for him to see how Michael could be identified, especially height wise. Just feel bad for the mental patient who was asking for help, both in the movie and in real life.
In one night, Michael received multiple gunshots, stabbings, a pitchfork in the back, was set on fire, beaten with bats, experienced severe smoke inhalation... when exactly did he get struck by lightning and become an immortal zombie?
That’s the great part, he isn’t immortal. David Gordon Green, the director of this movie, literally said myers isn’t supernatural.

It was not supposed to be funny. That is how everyone in Hollywood thinks most people are killed with guns. That would never happen in real life. Not to mention no person who had ever shot a gun before would walk up to within 2 feet of the person they are trying to shoot.

Think it was mainly the way that Myers leans back and raises his hands slightly like he's trying to "frame" it which was like what artists on kids TV shows would do to show off their work and how they're supposedly considering their next step on it. Fun fact: The start credits with the jack-o-lanters actually have one jack-o-lantern for each movie on the halloween saga so far as some kind of tribute or homage.
Opening credits on Halloween Ends were really cool. Carved Pumpkins bursting out of other carved pumpkins and then the final shot of pumpkin guts covered in blood. So cool.
I feel like 1 sin per person in the ambush mob is needed. During that sequence I was screaming "NO WHY WOULD YOU STOP!?"

What really annoyed me about this movie is that the idea of the entire town taking up arms to take down Myers SHOULD have worked. Literally everyone would be on alert knowing Michael is back in town, and they know he's way too dangerous for a small group of people to handle, AND they would be determined enough to want to stop him once and for all. The ONLY reason this didn't end Michael is because of this damn writing.
What annoyed me is who almost no one in this town owns a firearm.

I grew up with firemen. I lived in a firehouse. And the fact that the sin wasn't for the fact that Michelle Myers was able to walk, let alone STAND after being hit by the hose. Was the real sin. Showed that too my mom and she went "nah he would be on the ground."

Yup and they keep dragging in more characters just to kill or waste time. Especially the ones from the original and the couples, like the reporters and the doctor/nurse couple. Both couples could have been useful but just died for no reason, making them irrelevant to the story. And the old characters only play off of nostalgia.

Actually, I think they're alluding to Michael's supernatural abilities, which he's had since the original film. Seriously, not only does Michael teleport in the original, but he also uses telekinesis by opening and closing doors and even unlocking car doors without a key. But people forget that.
That being said, Halloween Kills is perhaps the absolute worst in terms of writing. It's a shame because it has many excellent technical aspects, from cinematography, to set design, to soundtrack.. but the writing (which is one of the most important aspects) is so terrible that it actually ruins the film.
One of the smartest things in a horror movie is the angry mob against Micheal Myers and beat him all at once!

I always take issue when people are like "why are they fighting one on one when there are plenty of them" this is a real thing that happens. For what ever reason when people fight against one person in a mob if they don't immediately tackle the person and are instead looking to injure the person they will typically do this. There is only of my favorite examples of this in a show where they had 3 master fencers try to fight 100 novices and the novices did largely the same thing, to which the master fencers said made it easier. (It was a whole "could the 3 musketeers really take on 100 men?" Thing)

The guy who plays loomis movie actually didn't need cgi or any type of prosthetics, he just looks REALLY similar to the actor. He was actually I think one of their costume designers or make up crew guys.
