- Minecraft: EASY MOB XP FARM TUTORIAL! 1.20+ (Without Mob Spawner)
Today we're gonna build a renewed design of an oldschool XP farm which gives a lot of XP and loot! I hope you guys enjoy it!
Welcome to this EASY XP FARM tutorial in Minecraft 1.20+! In this step-by-step guide, you'll learn how to construct a highly efficient XP farm that allows you to quickly gather tons of xp in Minecraft. This is a Spider Zombie creeper skeleton zombie and more farm. The best part is that you can build this farm in survival mode, making it accessible to all players. This tutorial works on both Java and Bedrock!

Just noticed that. He really puts attention and care into his videos

warning: DO NOT close the top of the farm if you have not already placed the water buckets. own experience.
haha I can imagine😂😂
When i come back for placed water
Creeper: 😁😁😁
Good thing I'm seeing this after I made the same mistake 🤦
I want to ask how much time will it take to go from 30 xp to 60 xp
Once a creeper exploded at the entrance of the farm and all the mobs fell on me. :D
4:04 very nice syncing the music with the water, Idk if it was already in the music or you added the effect at the time, but adding the muffled sound effect as soon as you got in the water, then removing it when you get out, Amazing Man!
That music drop in the water was just perfect 😘
Bro you updet gold farm new video 😢
Exactly
I love how when you're in the water, the music gets muffled. Really cool touch.
Thank you very much, I have built many other farm machines but this is the first time I have built it successfully
For 1 layer (walls included):
237 Blocks (64, 64, 64, 45)
72 Trapdoors (64, 8)
9 Carpets
Roof (walls included):
273 Blocks (64, 64, 64, 64, 17)
What do you mean "one layer" ?
@@leonmauranne7597 one layer of the places that mob spawn in
Thank you for saving my time counting😅❤
@@leonmauranne7597 there are 3 layers at 2:56 for mobs to spwan
One layer is not very efficient 3 is better
Thank you so much for this video. The mob farm works great!
trapdoor take one stacks more because the list of farm number of trapdoor is not enough
wut?
I agree
oh yeah i noticed, same for the ladders, u need a tiny bit more, like 10 or 15, but i dont know why you would want to use ladders for vertical travel, water is better for this..
(or just use an elytra, you already have unlimited fireworks thanks to this motherlode you built)
There is a massive improvement to this build by converting it from a 3x3 drop column to a 1x3. The mobs can no longer see you and all of them can be hit without having to dangerously rotate around the drop area and risking sight lines, as creepers can trigger to blow the whole thing up.
Convert it to a 1x3 drop column with just three hoppers and at the top, extend the water platforms slightly to patch the gaps in the flow that appear in the middle. Use an extra set of gates to stop the water flowing down the drop column.
I am fairly new player to Minecraft, it is so hard to imagine what you are saying. 😅😊
Do you mean make the platforms bigger than 3x3 but not have the middle* platforms?
@@shreyasdharashivkar8027 you will find out :)
this is correct since with the 1x3 you dont have to get too close since its only 1 block and the xp will be easier and will be a lot easier too sweeping edge them and because of this if you afk it is also easier to cram them into dying by themselves i did this too too make it easier, its good of you to help people by telling them advice like this, little advide like this can actually help a lot.
OK to clarify on what this comment said(at least in my own testing) at 0:42 you count out 4 blocks instead of 5 to place the chest, and then only put 3 hoppers in the middle instead of 9. 0:59 is basically the same instead you are putting a ring around the 1x3 rather than 3x3. When you build up to 18 and add the stairs, at 1:32, you would build 5 blocks out on the sides that are longer and 4 for the shorter sides, so for some sort of a visual(sorry if it looks weird on mobile, i wrote this on a pc)
(O is solid blocks, X is air, and S is stairs)
O
O
O
O
O
S S S
O O O O S X X X S O O O O
S S S
O
O
O
O
O
Then you would put the fence gate at the Xs on the diagram, then at 2:07, i added 4 blocks to extend it, and it would go alongside the already placed blocks, then repeat that corner for all 4 corners.
and i think thats it the rest of the video should line up with this comment and the rest of the video.
Edit, even tho this wasnt apart of the original comment, I believe if you wanted to make another layer, it would be 237 building blocks, 9 carpet, and 72 trapdoors for each layer.
works flawless! (just one thing, if u don't pay attention sometimes the creepers can line of sight u and explode but if u pay attention this shouldn't happen and is quick fixed. )
also PRO TIP from a noob; place a water bucket at the top of ur farm and/or bank platform for easy access during construction and after
for some reason sometimes when creepers fall they explode almost on impact when they reach the bottom of the xp farm and it really messes up my farm
One creeper ruined my farm like ten minutes ago😢

Honestly the best mob spawner (java server) I could have hoped for, was concerned about it due to to some of the comments but for me it is super quick, few minutes AFK and I was up to 24 levels! Three levels, made from deepslate, it works a dream and so much better than other spawners I have tried.
What if i start making it on ground ?
@@kiraff3735it will work but not as well bc of all the other places the mobs have to spawn, making it above the ocean and in the sky makes it so they can only spawn in the farm
@@kiraff3735if you make it on the ground you will render in the cave systems below you and mobs will spawn in the caves. because of the spawning mechanics in minecraft this will greatly reduce output.

This works great! Thank you!! I made my levels 3 high so enderman could spawn too. All mobs are spawning and dropping items, including spiders, enderman, witches... I built mine in the ocean. I used 2 stacks plus 4 of the scaffolding instead of ladders/blocks. I didn't use carpet, and I put buttons on the roof with torches only on the outside blocks 3 apart. I also converted the slabs on the landing to whole blocks (just add another slab) so mobs cant see you, and I left only the front of killzone open, where chest is. (Mobs will move forward) Enclose it to make a room for yourself, 2 high around you or enderman may come in. In my room, I added a grindstone and 3 double chests because you get a ton of loot. Play on hard and get a ton of gold armor and sometimes diamond. I also use a few windows so I can see outside. Have fun playing everyone!
Endermen will teleport away
@AutodidactEngineer Not always, especially during the day. I have 4 stacks of enderpearls so far. I tried to make sure they have nowhere to teleport to also.
cheers for all the tips, will converting the slabs to full blokes fully remove the risk of a creeper blowing up?
@joshua-7638 Yes, it did for me. The mobs cant see me even when I crouch.
Do spiders not get stuck on top of the roof?
Still works extremely well on bedrock, thanks so much (I made 10 layers)

@@unknownnothx2093 Yeah, but I wouldn't recomend using blocks like wood or dirt because they're weak. Just any block that's strong enough.

Work the farm when i stack more layers on it
?
Works amazingly well ^^ (1.20.1). Thank you for the easy to follow and helpful tutorial :D.
Do mobs drop fast for you? I’m on realms.
It’s not that great I’m on 1.20.2
@@mr.penguin3009 at first it was rather moderat but still pretty fast on easy difficulty, but with turning difficulty up to hard the spawn rate increased a bit more. Waiting about five minutes was about 10 levels after 5min of waiting (from 0 levels that is). I'm playing java edition though, so there might be differences there.
@@ultimatedoge2617 that's a shame :(. Does it work at all though?
@@felixr6600 yes about one mob every 7 seconds
I built a 5 level one of Wattles farm but I still think the 3 level of Voltrox previous mob/xp farm gets better rates....or maybe I did something wrong. I'm still experimenting with hybrids of the two farms but nothing is great so far.
yeah me too i built layers i think yet the rates suck
Thank you such a really farm so many mobs❤
Thanks Bro, It's working !
if you are afraid of being blown up by a creeper, I have a great solution for this
first, make tiny 1x1 block towers in the corners using blocks and slabs so that mobs can't see you. leave the bottom slab at the end so that no one can spawn there. expand your platform if necessary
then place the chests around, just like your double chest is. you need to place chests in 10 places. (slabs don't work, I tried it on 1.20.1 and the experience spheres remained on the trapdoors instead of coming to me. due to the fact that the chest is smaller than slabs, we get closer to the farm and can pick up experience, but not so close that we blew up by creeper)
never crouch. if a creeper spots you upon landing, it will explode immediately, it happened with me
U realise a creeper cant blow u up when its trapped like that and the explosion damage depends on where ur feet are
@@jonasss593so what? he still can explode
On a server, how far away must it be from other players to actually let the mobs spawn? As soon as no one is nearby the farm goes crazy but if a second person is around in the city down below the whole farm stops
just wait 5 minutes and there will be a lot of mobs stay on the platform where the mob spawner is
thank you for this! works great :D
does it work in bedrock?
ty, the farm is helping me so much
Pretty good xp farm but there's a few problems with it, some mobs stay on platforms where you placed carpets and won't jump down because nothing is pushing them and 3x3 tunnel is not good because if you get too close, creepers can blow up
How do you fix it ?
That’s basically how every mob warm works… it just focuses on mobs walking into the gaps themselves
@@Voltroxexactly
You could waterlog the trapdoors so the creepers dont blow up the blocks around them and would kill the mobs
@@CyanicBirbjust tried this as I'm having problems with Skeletons being able to shoot through the gap and also triggering creepers, it just made it worse they managed to blow through my deepslate walls instead of just breaking the hoppers
The farm won’t spawn any mobs. Does anybody might know what I could’ve done?
works like charm even not on ocean. thank you 😊
hey so i just tried this on my ps5 and you’re the closest comment to this date to say you did it successfully. i did it over a river near me and my friends base but it doesn’t seem to produce very many mobs. any ideas on what could possibly be the problem?
@@SantiagoMaza-Urick i'm not sure because you are playing on ps5 which is bedrock edition while this video is made on java edition. when you say river did you built on land or on the river? because it would not work if it's on the river. i guess the best way to know is just build it on creative and see if it's work
Nothing's spawning for me
I just built this, thanks, it works quite well. One question, I made 4 layers, but I'm thinking about building some more layers to it. Is there a limit to how high you can build this? I'm not too sure about spawn radius and all that
If you dont want spiders to spawn on bedrock you have to use buttons instead of carpet
does this actually work? i cant find this information anywhere else
Pretty sure slabs instead of carpet works too?
@@Rakesh37187wouldn't slabs mess with the pathfinding? Or maybe im wrong i play on java

For people that is afraid of the creeper problem, my solution is place another block next to the y

did it work?
4 hours after finished building this i can say it's working fine even on land. my only problem is it's really, really long to get to the top especially without elytra which i haven't had yet.
can one just build it on the ground without going to y=195? How negatively does it impact the rates?
You could, but then you'd have to spawnproof the area around and under the farm, which is a lot more work than building up to 195. On the Ocean it might not make a huge difference, except for the fish and squids that fill up your mobcap
yes, it affects quite badly over time as your mob cap fills becuase of the caves below
you need an extra stack of trapdoors
On the bottom?
nice tutorial. the farm does work if you do everything step by step. no complains
At the base of the pillar create an area filled with water around it, it saved my life a few times
My mob farm is extremely slow. I changed some of my lunar settings and it sped it up but I am still having problems. I checked for lighting issues and still couldn’t find any flaws in my build or lighting. It’s also all at y 195 and it’s in a wide lake but my spawns are not coming in fast enough.

It works for me even though my render is 8 chunks and simulation 12
Mostly creepers are spawning which is scary but a good gunpowder and xp farm
Doesn’t work for me. I’ve gone over it 3 times but did it exactly the way you did yet no mobs are spawning. Idk what to do tbh
If I'm not mistaken, and I could be wrong, (idk, because I have a different mob spawn setup and it works, just not as good as it was shown in the video tutorial) I think you have to have it away from a village, a certain amount of blocks. I think it was fifty. Again not 100% to how accurate it is because mine works just not as well as the tutorial I watched. Not this video.
Just tried it, follow it to a tee, it works. Needs to be high and away and covered/dark
the only issue with this design is that creepers tend to blow up the trap door and the hopper leeding to an escape of mobs

Is it compulsory to do in ocean?
Facts: Mobs spawn within 24-128 blocks away from a player, meaning they can not be too close or further than 128 blocks. Pros: There is no land mass for the mob to spawn on except for the platform. While drowned can spawn in the water, he is over 128 blocks above sea level so drowned can not spawn either. If you fall during construction you won't die due to water.
