Combo 1.3 CDTi engine start problem. Here battery is already as dead as a dodo, what I fail to understand is why the engine goes into vibrations and then dies ...
This is a problem with the starter motor - it turns too slow and the engine can not start and goes into vibration. I had absolutely the same problem. After changing the oil from 10W40 to 5W30 which is less viscous my starter turns faster and the engine starts without going to vibrations first. There is a service bulletin from Opel about this problem.

mine did the same I taken the fuse board out of the engine bay and there are three plugs under there that link to the ecu there was signs of water getting in. I got some electric contact cleaner cleaned plugs up and put back together and away I was
Had very similar problem with mine tracked it down to the o rings on the high pressure fuel pump fuel lines you can hear a slight sucking sound prior to turning over replaced o rings and fine now
ABS signal lamp is ON! after engine start. Check ABS ECU. I had the same issue. U2108 - CAN Bus- No communication with ABS. Try to deactivate ABS ECU via OP-COM and then activate it again. It worked for me somehow.
You fixed it? The ECU is probably dead. Had the same problem with a friends car. If the Fault reads as diesel pump or spill valve this may be the solution.
Why do people ask what's wrong with theire car when the engine lamp is on. Read out the fault codes -.- Probably a worn out injector, you can hear it runs on 3.

Exactly same thing happens on my brothers van
normally it is the starter that tires and is no longer providing enough power
Fixes:
Install Bigger Starter Motor Valeo TS18E33
Change Battery
