    The problem is solved. It was a starter motor. I replaced it for stronger one from Corsa D (1.8kW). It was a difficult job but it's worth it :) Car is starting and running like a new.
    ==================================================================
    Corsa 1.3 CDTI 2004. Problems always after long stay eg. overnight. Outside temp: 10.0*C. Little visible black smoke from exhaust (not sure if always). Injectors checked - OK, High pressure pump checked - OK, No error codes. After start car runs perfect, minimum stay for similar effect is about 2-3h

    I had the same starting problem on my Corsa C 2004 1.3 cdti after changing the dual mass flywheel at 56,000 (and the problem less so before that). Switched to the 1.8 kw starter motor part No TS18E33 after seeing this video and the starting is perfect !!! Thanks maniu87

    I had the same problem yesterday, my problem was 2 things, battery on its way out & glow plugs were dead. I also read a blog that said if your battery is low it wont be able to give the correct current to the fuel pump thus starving it. I would check your glow plugs first as they're cheap & cheerful!

    Just guy who repleced it for me said it wasn't very easy, but you do not need any modifications. the starter is from Corsa D, with the same engine code.

  • @maniu87
    @maniu87  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tim please read all the description and comments first. Corsa D is a new corsa, A was the first, then B, then C and D is the newest. Both, mine Corsa C and other Corsa D had the same engine, Z13DT. The new starter part no is: TS18E33.

    Fit a 1.8kw starter. Spins faster to get the common rail high pressure fuel pump up to pressure. My daughters car was bad at starting for about a year. Fitted the uprated starter and now starts instantly every time. PS it's not too difficult.

      Glenn Preston sorry but you haven’t fixed to problem you have found way around it, I had a brake in one out my glow plug module that was my problem.

    Hi how easy is it to fit this starter motor? is any modification needed? What vehicle is the starter out of? Thanks for the vid!

      Getting the starter out is mega difficult. Replace it straight away, I bought used for £30, no big deal. The one I got fitted part no is TS18E33

    I have the same problem with the same car. I think this happened after dual-mass flywheel and clutch replacement. When the weather above 20*C, car starts fine. No error codes logged. New filters and new 10w40 oil.
    Does anyone know where is the problem?

    As in easy to get to or just replace? What is a corsa d? Do you have the spec of the starter and know what spec the vehicle is it came from? How does it start now?

  • @gringo208
    @gringo208 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for your answer, maybe after changing the dual mass flywheel my starter needs replacement too. I found this service bulletin:
    Complaint :- Bad cold start behavior at low ambient temperatures. In some cases it takes up to 15 seconds to start the engine / or several starting procedures.
    Cause:- Problem caused by too low starter performance. Several investigations revealed that a starter is needed which runs engine RPM much faster through the resonance band of the dual mass flywheel

    What year is your car I have a 09 combo and it’s doing the same thing wondering if the starter is already updated on it ?

    • @maniu87
      @maniu87  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The car was an 04 corsa and is long gone now. I think from all the possible reasons this is reasonably cheap to rule out, as I got a 2nd hand starter for £30 and got it fitted for another £30. So definitely worth checking. If you can access it, perhaps it will say the power on it?

  • @maniu87
    @maniu87  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    As I posted before, I replaced a starter motor and after this problem gone. Till now the lowest temp I started a car was 4C and it was all fine :) I know problem may have other reason, but replacing a starter motor was cheap and good decision :)

    Yes problem is sorted after I replaced the starter motor for a stronger one from corsa D (1.8 kW output power). The job is difficult so get my advice and find a good mechanic :) The starter motor's part no is: TS18E33
    even now after night with -4 degrees car starting without any problems. Good luck :)

      Unfortunately I can't give you any advice because I didn't replace it myself. But lads from garage said that it was mega difficult. You need to find a really good and experienced people to do this job.

    what you are doing is heating up the cilinder by turning the starter over and over again. try some eather spray. it will crank like a boss...

    doczytałem temat do konca,wyszło że rozrusznik ,mój kręci dobrze ,w sumie to auto sprowadzone z niemiec może ktoś wymienił ,napisz prosze czy usterka nie wróciła i czy to napewno był rozrusznik.

  • @maniu87
    @maniu87  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    In my case, the problem was always, even when temperature was above 20. I replaced the starter motor for a used one from corsa D, with output power 1.8 kW (oryginal had 1.3 kW) and car is starting like a new, always.

    • @TheDjkasio

      Was it starting ok when engine is warm?Mine does same thing but only on cold engine so i am not sure wherewer new starter motor would help

    • @maniu87
      @maniu87  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheDjkasio with warm engine it was starting okay. It was only problem on cold. Theory behind is, warm oil is thin and easier to move by the starter motor so it gives enough stroke movement to get the compression right and ignite. On cold, oil is thick and starter is not powerful enough to give enough rpm to ignite.
