- This redhead fan got so lucky to play Blue with Green Day on stage - and he did a fabulous job! Followed by a big jump into the crowd :) (The guy's name is Thomas Bulvan)
IT'S THE REAL BLUE. Check out Christie Road from the same show to see the back of the guitar with the picture of 10-year old Billie: • Billie Joe plays on hi...

I was at this show! Dude really did fucking kill it. Before the video starts, I guess the kid was like right in front of Billie, I was like 5-6 people from the rail, holding a sign saying "I can play every note on Dookie." Billie said "Do you really know every note to that album?" apparently he said yes cause then he said "Then get your ass up here." Never seen someone hop the railing so fast in my life Haha. Fucking killer show
Oh and then after Billie hands over his guitar he says "this is either gonna be the greatest moment in your life, or your worst nightmare" lol.

I love realizing that this kid has great stage awareness and presence, he's not in the front the whole time or always trying to be the center of attention. He knows what he's doing, and being a stranger, he's interacting with everyone on stage, he even looks back to the drummer and the keyboard player to interact with them too. He steps back, forward, and is very fluid. Proud of him!
EXACTLY, the stage presence is the first thing I've noticed. Kid has been in the position before and is super stoked to be where he is at!
Dude is definitely in a band
He was a roboy

Right? If he isn't in a band now, I'd wager he's having offers tossed at him left and right for bands needing a guitarist

I'm 56 and I'm not a huge fan, but I must say I have mad respect for Billy Joe. Throughout the years I have seen him go from a young punk to an old punk lol. Attitude, yes indeed. Thats rock and roll!
I'm 60, man, and just discovered this video. I'm not a GreenDay fan at all but I enjoy a lot this. If I came across with Billy Joe in Buenos Aires, I'd invite him an asado, for sure :-) Larga vida al rock'n'roll!!!
Class of 85 here David, and you just took the words man!
@gib59er56 we had just been overwhelmed with new wave . After growing up with the original classics. RHCP are older than us! But Green Day is a good band. And I do like his lyrics. Just isn't my preference. They are original , very much so. But again I say. Billy is the Epitome me of the bad boy rocker which makes him a legend

Green Day is the reason I ever picked up a guitar. A kid growing up bored as hell in a small town and I can honestly say if not for Green Day I wouldnt have started playing. At least not as early as I did.

To me, he doesnt take himself too seriously, and the gesture he made for this young kid, who kicked ASS, was just so cool.
He’s definitely a very nice guy
I saw him do the same thing live here in Melbourne Australia and he actually gave the girl his guitar
Not a Green Day fan, at all, but they
seem like nice enough guys that appreciate their fans.
5 years ago I went to a festival in Mexico where Green Day played at the end. They did the same thing with 2 fans, couldn't pull it out because one of them sucked, but they kept their energy and it was an awesome show. Best concert ever!
My son knows almost every Greenday song on guitar (he's 16). I play it on drums while he plays guitar. I grew up listening and playing Greenday whrn I was a teenager. Rock bands, no matter what type of rock, may sing about being badasses who don't give a damn about anyone's feelings but they're always the nicest people you'll ever meet. In the immortal words of Bryan Johnson: "Rock N Roll will never die!" We should always love each other no matter how much we might not get along. LONG LIVE ROCK N ROLL!!

I was at this show. When Billie brought Blue out, he said, "Let me tell you guys a story. When I was 10 years old, my mother was working a lot of hours at a diner. She used her money to buy me this guitar." Why would Billie tell such a heartfelt story if he was holding a replica? Billie's not the kind of guy who would lie to us like that.

One of the reasons why Green Day is among the best bands of all time: *They adore their fans*
I bet when Billie sees this young man playing his song and his energy, I bet it reminds Billie of himself and how he felt being on stage playing the song for the very first time. Because for this fan, IT WAS his first time playing that song and Billie knew just how he felt.
