    If you end up taking your blower apart you might want to consider PTFE coating all the metal to metal parts. There’s a guy (Eddie Current) on YT who did a NP246 transfer case. Less friction = less heat.

    +Sloppy Mechanics hey Matt, I think you may have misunderstood your buddy when he said Nissan Cobra. I'm pretty sure he was referring to an AC Cobra (light car with a beast of an American V8), not a Terminaror Cobra

    • @SloppyMechanics
      @SloppyMechanics  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh that’s funny because in my eyes it’s closer to a 2door four seater 6 spd irs 4.6 liter blower car, because an ac cobra usually big block 4 spd two seater naturally aspirated

    • @Mang213

    What are your thoughts on blower vs turbo and manual vs auto , at say500- 600whp range , which do you prefer ?

    • @ChuckBeefOG
      @ChuckBeefOG 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Blower would be the easier route if that is your power goals. I would go procharger. Bolt on procharger kits for Chevy are around 4-5k for a P1SC which will make around 550-600 bhp on a 5.3L/6.2L. You can upgrade to a D1SC or D1X for only about $900 and they will support up to 700hp.

    • @ilikeboost4764
      @ilikeboost4764 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say turbo because as long as you aren't maxing out your turbo you can generally make more power just by turning up the boost. So you have that option. Manual vs auto is all up to preference really.

    Hello, an observation from an Old Man if I may.
    Many years ago we flogged Ford Super Coupe engines very hard. One of the things we learned was that the Rotors in the Eaton 90's got hot to the point that the epoxy coating would peel off.
    Now I don't know how the New superchargers are made but back then we just used a little water injection to cure it.

    I wonder what power it makes if u go sub zero C temps. thanks to jaystwocents about acetone and dry ice makes ya wonder. What if...u submerge a exhanger in a tank of acetone and dry ice on the hot return from the blower...would u need to run antifreeze in the blower? I really need to "chill out" with my mad science ideas but...pfi speed's phong (dude on the channel) runs a 200hp+ using a dry ice intake box...so in theory all u need to do is make a air box with a 120mm rad and fill it with acetone and dry ice, make a res at the top to put in the dry ice like a spun tank from go power sports (use cc10 for 10% off most things) and weld in some tubes to the rad from the tank. Lower the AIT but not freeze the blower. Didnt i just type i need to stop my mad science?....

    • @SloppyMechanics
      @SloppyMechanics  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Theoretically spraying nitrous is wayyyyyy easier way to drop temps

    • @Odd_Redneck
      @Odd_Redneck 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SloppyMechanics agreed, im just a nerd who dreams up mad stuff, like building a twin turbo 3.4 V8 ford Taurus sho that wings out to 11k rpm and is still street-able. id like to see volume-metric efficiency of the engine increase with out boost. then run something bananas on it like a under driven supercharger. i also want to get a j30a4 honda v6 and twin turbo it BUT chop it and drop it in the back of a civic sedan. maybe a big signal turbo with a heat exchange built in to the intake so that way it can be plumped tightly and just have it run to the front with the rad in the exhaust tunnel. there are some nights i just dont sleep...went to college for IT, electrical engineering and welding...i see it all in my head the programming, sensors, pins, wiring diagrams, geometry. this is a bad place for me to be...i might actually make something deadly, lol. good thing i have D&D nights on Saturday
