thanks gregor you did it bro. a new soul in an old body. now it's really a lovely performer, a multi purpose air rifle any shooter dreamed of. I was unpaitient after the disassembly video to see this one with the new barrel. enjoy your unique barrel. thanks for share
Gregor you are THE MAN!!! The best airgun modification videos on TH-cam, for sure. I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to watching many more of your features in future. :-)
Well done, Gregor! I`m glad that the new barrel works great, and that you are happy with the results.I personally would let the regulator at 150 bars(300m/s; seams to work just fine)to extend the shot count, but that`s just me. I Would like to see you shooting the 21.14 grains Baracuda match, if possible or Baracuda power,25.39 grains Jumbo Monster and 28.4 grains Eun Jin pellets at 300-325m/s(Whit the new barrel!!) to see how is the accuracy and the shot count.
+admin mod I have already tested most of those pellets: baracuda match is quite accurate, baracuda power also, I have not jet seen any rifle or barre that shoots well with jumbo monster, they are extremely unstable..., eun jin shoot very well but the have occasional flyers (one every 5-10 shoots). The shoot count is the only reason that I would consider any other pellet, because JSB Beast are killer with this barrel and I do not have to worry about wind anymore... :)
+Gregor Kamenšek I agree with you about the JSB Beast in terms of power and stability in windy conditions but it`s always good to have other options. For example if the weather is good you can perfectly shoot the lighter pellets still having pretty good power(300-325m/s is 63-72 joules with H&N 21.14g)and good accuracy at 75-100 yards. In the same time maybe doubling the shoot count. That was my point, the air efficiency and consumption, more shoots per fill.
I imagine you just helped sell a few Huben K1s. If they start providing a 16:1 twist Lothar Walther barrel, I'll buy one myself. Thanks for the videos: very informative.
+Barls Charkley They have alredy contacted me and asked me what barrel exactly i have used... So hopefully future Huber rifles will come with this barrel.
Gregor Kamenšek Hey gregor love What you have done with your Huben And I am about to buy my own Huben from my local dealer.. But I have a question . I Am really likking that thiker And 17 mm LR barrel that you have installed ..And how it makes the Huben look Especially. without it's front treating As you mentioned Estetic wise And I really kind of wish. My Huben to be an exact copy of yours Because your really the expert . Questions does rojal Sell the same paticular barrel 17 mm thik LR And if they do ?? Wil the barrel be pre machined ?? to fit the Huben K1
I guess we could make it the same as mine but I have to warn you that installing it is a loot more tricky than the regular version. Also some additional parts has to be made to fit is properly....
Gregor Kamenšek Ooh I see Is there a maybe possibility I could send My Huben To you or ..Rojal So If You are willing to Costomize my Huben in the same way you did yours Of course im willing to pay in exchange for the Machining/ labor + material Cost that you would request . Also I heard you talking about replacing That part that at the back of the barrel That plastic part replacing it with An aluminium part I would like that also If your planning to make 1 Would you conncider making 2 alluminium parts I would like to pay for that part of course
I am working on some additional improvements right now, I will probably make a video when I have some results... I recommend that you wait a while for me to finish with these modifications, because I am hoping to further improve accuracy and to have some custom molds for heavier pellets... I suggest you contact me with a private comment in a month or two and we can further discuss this upgrade.
Thank you Gregor for the excellent review! I have the K1 in my collection and its shooting like crap with the stock barrel :( It would be great if you could try your rifle in a no-wind setting just to see what it's really capable of with the new .22LR barrel. In any case congratulations on a job well done brother.
Great work Gregor, keep putting vids up mate because you know your stuff. Will Rojal gunshop let you do more reviews with their guns, thinking of a Kral bullpup myself.
To my knowledge, there are 3 different barrel types they used: gen1 used standard LW choked airgun barrel with 450mm twist; gen2 used same barrel but with sightly faster twist of 416 mm. Somewhere in 2021 i think, they switched to Chinese unchoked barrels. All barrels prefer slightly bigger slug but the .222 or .223 only fit in the magazine of gen 1, but it depends form slug to slug.
Gregor, I received my k1 from mrodair in the US. The gun functions perfectly and as you have reviewed in your videos. This model has the new barrel from Huben installed and shoots pretty well with the JSB Beasts. My groups are not as tight as yours are but I am getting about 1/2" to 3/4" at 50 yds. I attribute this to maybe shooter error and a heavy trigger. Can you post how to lighten the trigger. Thanks
please tell us the old and new barrel specs. no. of grooves, new barrel brand, length and twist rate. and I'm wonder how the new thicker barrel affect the silencer effectiveness, because of less room available between silencer wall and the barrel.
Hello Gregor and thanks for great videos! You seen to know a lot about hubens so I ask for advice. I was shooting my huben with high power setting and went to too low pressures and gun jammed and blew all the air out. Now when I tried to fill it the leaks air from barrel like the trigger was pulled all the time. Can you help me how to fix the problem? Thanks!
It is possible that the main firing valve got stuck together. The valve is made of two parts that can move apart or together for about 5 mm. Try to remove the valve and check if this movement is fluent...
Hello Gregor. I was wondering if you know how to fill the K1 from completely empty. Mine has lost pressure and now I'm unable to fill the gun without the air leaking feom the fill hole. Have you seen this problem too?
Hi Gregor, am considering buying this gun. I already owned your famous GK one and love it. I want to know if there any pitfalls stoning the gun I know there used to be regulator problems. I plan on purchasing krazcool it seems that he has a stellar reputation and also very good at fixing them as necessary. Do you have any recommendations as far as what I should know before I purchase the gun. I plan on shooting, heavy pellets and slugs. I would appreciate your recommendation on slugs. thank you as always, Mike
Basically, all the info you need are in my videos, and there is many of them. Depending on the version, you will get best results with JSB Monster Redesigned for pellets and with my mold version 3 slugs and with Altaros slugs. I am sure you have many more good options in the US that I have not tested...
+Gary Billington Yes, the new barrel is slightly longer and thicker so it is a little heavier, but not noticeable on the whole scoped gun. There is some recoil, we air gunners notice that, someone who shoots with center fire rifles will say that there is no recoil ;) The recoils is strong enough that when shooting on sandbag rest I had to re position the rifle for each shoot.
+Gregor Kamenšek - hi again, i contacted royal and am hopeful after speaking to tom about getting my own huben with the mod you have developed, just a thought gregor, would it be practical to only load every other pellet slot, my thinking is it would not cycle to the next pellet due to an empty chamber, inconvenient because you would have to use the lever near the reg each time but safer possibly, as i said just a suggestion thanks again
+Gary Billington Hello! Rojal will soon be offering Huben with my mod. Huben rotates the magazine even when dry fired (no pellet in the chamber)so if you load every other chamber it would only have one dry fire in between and they a live fire...
@gregor wow I was hoping you'd do a video on the barrel replacement. thanks a lot. one question though, you mention we should get a 12,2 diameter barrel cause that will fit perfectly, yet later you say yours is 17mm outer diameter. so was 12,2 a mistake?
+bram achternaam No, it is correct. I said in the video that my barrel was 17 mm thick and I made the back side (from the magazine to the shroud) thinner (12,2 mm) and I left the front part (the part that is in the shroud and visible in the video) thicker. I was not sure what kind of results I will get with this barrel therefore I wanted to leave a bull barrel without changing the gun. This is the compromise. If you want to change the barrel with minimum effort and modifications , you should get it 12,2 mm thick and 600 mm long (after finishing the crown). In the video I have also shown the stock barrel... Maybe watch the video again...
+Gregor Kamenšek thanks for the quick reply! I have another question, have you done any modification to the clamp that holds the barrel and supports the scope rail? to accommodate the 17mm bigger diameter?
hello nice rewiew and i want to ask aquestion. How can i buy a . 22 or .25 LR barrel to Turkey because here weapons and barrels only purchasable under the state on probation so a having barrel so diffucult in Turkey
Hello. I do not know how it works in Turkey, if the barrel does not have a seat for the bullet it is legal. And since you will use it of air gun, it should be OK. But I am really not the right person to talk about that since I am not from Turkey...
Huben already has a shroud and it is quite quiet. There is no thread on the shroud to enable additional suppressor but you could make an adapter for it by removing the end cap on the shroud....
No I have not, but these two guns are very different. Huben is designed for high powers and it will shoot slugs better. Technology in Huben is one of its kind while Monsoon is a conventional PCP technology.
@@gregorkamensek3923 Thank you. Do you know of any gunsmith in America you can recommend for the job.? Also I have been trying to buy your slug molds following you link but It is a bit unclear.
+Hassan Mirza Unfortunately, no. These pellets like choked barrel and Huben has an un choked barrel. I have done some test with 18 grJSBs with .22LR barrel and they seem to be quite accurate, but I need to test them again without wind. So far I tested them at 70 meters in extreme wind at about 290 m/s (about 950 fps) and I made a 8 cm group which is better than I ever did with the stock barrel without wind. The only pellet that shoot reasonable well in the stock barrel was Baracuda Match at aroun 1000 fps, but I had a flyer every 5 shots (pellet instability). But you do not buy Huben to shoot 18 pellets at 900 fps. You can but there is no point in buying it if you intend to stick to low power only. One thing is certain: every thing that has a lot of options is never as good at one thing as the thing that is dedicate only for one purpose. The made Huben extremely adjustable but it is impossible to select a barrel that will be good for all purposes (as it turns out, they could choose better). My assumption is that they selected un choked because they wanted for the gun to be able to shoot cast bullets as well and destroyed the performance in low power for light pellets and they decided to go with an airgun barrel (1:17,7 twist) to still be able to shoot conventional pellets and destroyed performance with long heavy pellets like Beasts or slugs...
There is no good way to picture the inside of the barrel (maybe with endoscope camera). Also I don't see any purpose for this, the barrel is as I mentioned standard LW choked airgun barrel

Ok, in that case, it is probably the oring on the 2,5mm pin that index the magazine. Take a look at my video: th-cam.com/video/p7MLR_RPaYs/w-d-xo.html at 16:20.
