How to Draw a Cartoon Cactus | Adobe Illustrator Tutorial

My first 3 “Draw with Me” episodes featured winter themed cartoons. And since spring is finally upon us and summer is just around the corner, I thought it only fitting that I draw something that exemplifies slightly warmer weather.
And what embodies the spirit of warm weather better than a chipper little cactus. With a pair of maracas and just a touch of traditional Mexican flare, this little guy is ready to dance the night away during Cinco de Mayo!
Now in addition to being fun to draw, this video may also be very helpful to those of you who are relatively new to cartooning because it contains some really useful tips on how to go about giving human characteristics to inanimate objects, like plants.

Some parts of it, yes. The clean up process in Affinity Designer works a bit differently. But the basic principals are the same.
