@@hk-wt5iu yeah, and that is the most annoying part of Zerg army: combining with free units like brood lords, swarm hosts they can do infinite amount of damage without any resources in opposit of Protoss. Basically if you can't choke the Zergs fast enough then it will grind you down in the long run.
What an amazing and mind blowing performance from both players. Extreme precision on both sides and just the tiniest details made all the difference. Absolute blast to watch
Doesn't help that the gold base was quite exposed and the carriers were dead weight, along with the reckless observers. More voids and a couple disruptors perhaps?

@@cugamer8862 True, it's kina messed up. Having run tests with stalker-phoenix colossus void combos, they even did well against the godawful lurker hydra corruptor BL combo. Problem is: The micro demand becomes insane. Try using phoenix gravity vs. lurkers while dealing with the hydras and BLs while blink microing, and microing colossi away and sniping with voids. That is superhuman demand. Not to mention if you get sentries or templars. Forget about microing drops by that point. Meanwhile zerg has so many opportunities to screw one over and just controlgroup + A. You know, if psy-storm did a proportional slowdown the longer units stay in, it would already help so much more without being too OP. No need for zerg to cry, they then actually need skill to micro mutas. As for this game, the carriers were a decision by greed, as Shows mine rate was nuts, and more were really not better, think about mobility, whereas yes, more stalkers wouldve been good. And the observer management was short-sighted (pun intended). Either way, Show's ludicrously much better than me.

Plus microing stalkers, phoenixes colossi and void rays is not very difficult at all even if you added in sentries(???) and HT which are both also very easy to control. Also: "actually need skill to micro mutas". Obviously there's tons of skill required to micro mutas but it actually doesn't matter vP because phoenixes are pretty much a hard counter. The same way playing blink stalker disruptor takes a lot of skill to micro but will still lose against BL or Lurker.

And rebuilding the gold base and then just leaving it, not once, not twice, not three times but four times in the late game just felt so weird. He has recall for his home base if his observers and scout see the enemy moving. Why not mine out the bottom base before you leave it.
I mean, showtime can hardly attack into the zerg at that point. If Serral has the concave and the defensive position, it's very hard to win these fights.
Showtime misplayed numerous times and this is the best game of 2022? Seral is a beast, sure, but if that is the state of the game, well I am not interested to watch the scene again. That was a boring match with another skytoss that still hasn't figured out how to win a lategame. On the other hand, it's a replay of SC2HL, tells me everything.
showtime so poor at defending his gold base. basically guaranteed win if he doesn't keep letting it get killed. fucks off with his entire army to harass while it's obvious the gold base is the win/lose point for the entire game. odd seeing a game so well played, and then such a basic strategic error.
It's fun to watch Protoss building late game units only to be slaughtered by Zerg that have no end of counters to those units? Showtime outfought Serral for nearly the entire match, and had a huge income advantage but a few fungals and neurals were all it took to put an end to that.

I feel bad for showtime, such a good game for him and then it fails in the final minutes of the game. Although i'm a serral fanboy, so i was pretty happy to see him make a lot out of nothing.
Showtime just couldnt read the situation and it lost him the game. For 15 minute period all he had to do with push in with everything and win. as soon as serral tipped the balance he knew and immediately went on the offensive
I have to rewatch this game again because I was looking for best PvZ game of SC2. Sadly, with a fresh eye, Showtime made waaaay too many mistakes to allow this comeback to happen. He was sitting on up 50 supply with superior army at some point, but he refused to attack with main force for like 10 minutes, instead just throw away expensive units little by little, allowing Serral to gradually gain back army advantage. Serral obviously played incredibly from behind, but this is really most on Showtime screwing up.
I play World of Tanks and sometimes watch the online clan war battle matches. The commentators on the WoT games pale in comparison to those who commentate for the SC2 games. It is always highly entertaining to watch these commentated games.

Funny how Zergs complain that Terrans are imba with massing ghosts (which is literally their only viable late-game unit against everything besides Terran) and Protoss is an A-move army with skytoss when they can literally just mass queens, which is a TIER 1 unit, can easily destroy a hard to control mix of expensive and few (because they are heavy in supply) tier 3 sky units from protoss. Granted that the fungals helped, but still... those are 150 minerals TIER 1 unit that costs 2 supply. If anything's OP, it's the Queens. A nice change would be to nerf them to 3 supply to prevent massing them late game but slightly buff their HP to retain early game defense.
For those saying Zerg wins, you're just discounting the skill of the player. If Zerg is so OP and Protoss weak, then why is Reynor winning with Protoss vs Zerg? Finals of the Gladiators Cup was Reynor (3) - Dark (4). Reynor's losses in that series were Zerg. If he used Protoss all the way, he probably would've won. Reynor off-racing Protoss can take down Dark. Maybe Protoss is OP? Haven't seen someone off-racing Zerg do it the other way around. Just to illustrate how light years away is Serral's skill, Maru usually beat Reynor in TvZ (and he did recently in TSL 9). While Serral just toys with Maru (TSL 9 finals). And then you expect Showtime to win vs Serral? I'm sure you can predict how Showtime vs Maru will go, and then you think Showtime can win vs Serral? In Serral's specialty of ZvP? I generally agree, but I think it's simpler than that. All three races are represented more or less equally in every stage of tournaments, and the win rates in all match ups across all leagues are rather even. It is by definition, a balanced game. The discussion should stop there. Then like you say, who wins in these tournaments is entirely up to the players' skills and nothing more.
Neuro, fungal, Burying every unit (why?), the ease of denying observers, parasitic bomb and pulling in big units, using energy (unlike carriers which use minerals for some goddamn reason)
