    Hey Guys! I'm so sorry about the poor audio quality. I rushed this video and didn't realize it was like that until the end. I also did NOT swap the screen which is why there is no screen message ( was an accident).I plan on making more videos about this phone and perhaps a full teardown. I had to line up early at the apple store which is something I never thought I would do. If you enjoyed the video please leave a like and subscribe! :)
    UPDATE: Swapping iPhone Screens disables face id... See video : th-cam.com/video/LgU5G41-c2g/w-d-xo.html

      If you replace a battery in an iphone 13 you will get a pop up msg every single time you unlock your phone saying the battery is not genuine. That is not acceptable to most people to have a battery warning pop up display every single time you unlock your phone. That means that while the battery will work and power the phone, it is still not an acceptable repair for the mass majority of people out there.

    For future reference, the “screw-ception” screw’s official names is Standoff. 🙂
    Edit: Yes it might not be called a standoff, but that’s what iFixit calls it, so that’s where I got the term from.

    • @RaXXha
      @RaXXha 3 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      A standoff would sit behind the board and only have the purpose of ofsetting the board from whatever is below it (the rear housing in this case). In this case the screw holds a part and in turn you can screw another part on top of it. The term in this case is "Superscrew". :-)

    • @brunoglopes
      @brunoglopes 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      That is not a standoff. A standoff isn’t used to screw anything in place. It is screwed in by itself to lift something up, like a motherboard from a case. Those screws on the video hold 2 components. It’d be like if a standoff held down the motherboard and then another motherboard on top of the first one.
      Basically a standoff only holds one component. The screw he showed in the video holds 2 components. Idk the name but it’s definitely *not* a standoff.

So massive props for shelling out the dough to show us what those two look like on the inside. So far I got 4+ years out of my old iPhone8, which IMO is not half bad for a phone. We all need to explain what's going on to every customer about r2r.. maybe even make a pamphlet detailing how much money they could save by supporting R2R. Let's all keep it at the forefront.

    • @techdoc.repair

      Btw I heard the rumor was that it wouldn't work unless it was an apple genuine battery because the control board sends a special encoded boot signal. I didn't hear it had to be the same exact battery just an apple one. check that> you cant boot from a power supply.. a possible solution is to take the control board off the battery and attach the power supply to that, then the battery control board can send its signal.

It’s the little things like not including a power brick, including a cable that doesn’t work with old USB-A bricks, making their products incredibly difficult to repair without expensive Apple retailers, and intentionally not putting USB-C on their phones even though almost every other product they sell has it. If someone orders a iPhone 13 they should be asked if they need/want a charging brick. Since they make you pay for it my opinion is that they are not only doing this for the environment. It’s not about the 20 Bucks or whatever it costs because if you pay 700$ and more u should be able to buy a brick. It’s about the simple fact that they deliver a product without everything that you need to use it.

      @@usf976 don’t get me wrong I love Apple and I wouldn’t wanna switch. But there are a lot of options here. We can’t forget the fact that the bricks improve and a lot of new phones actually require(well it’s recommended) a new brick because it’s more powerful and extends the lifespan of the battery whereas an older brick could potentially harm your battery health. Longer lifespan less lithium waste less harm to the environment. They could even do something like a trade in for charging bricks so u always have the right charging brick for your phone. But that would probably mean less profit for Apple.

      @@HevaNaisdey its common for apple fans not to know about tech, they buy the product for looks, status and ease of use . The top comment isn't wrong though you can always find less powerful, as for any phones if you compare it to a cheap latop cpu or old one, the person that commented pretty much wrote for nothing

      @@HevaNaisdey pc’s are better at the same price , because they don’t need to make their processors small and cold. At that performance it’s really good for iPhone , it can launch all games on iPhone without lag , so if we compare this to an pc , it will be kinda the same ( remember , there are some laptops with celeron , that launch genshin impact worse than iPhone android and they cost 750$) but pc is of course cheaper ( not now , because of videocard prices ).The cost of making an iPhone is around 500$ , and i never saw an iPhone 13 lag. I mean comparing to pc , it’s not that bad. That thing can be in your pocket , but pc can’t. So it’s practically really good , and definitely faster than many pc’s and laptops like mine 😂

    What's wrong with Apple telling the customer that they aren't using Apple Geniune parts?
    If it stops a person from using the devide ... perhaps you have a case, but if it's just a warning, I think it's legit.
    The whole point is the allow Apple to void the warranty if you don't get it repaired by Apple certified professionals. That's pretty much standard in many industries.

Rossman said something about this causing problems for high power draw apps/processes. It would be interesting to see a side by side quantitative test of your Frankenstein iPhone 13 and an untouched version.

      The worst of the pack leads the way. They just test to see how much shit people will eat. From doing away with a battery cover to headphone jack to removing the charger brick, Apple did it first. People ate the shit. Other manufacturers realised they could follow suit to make even more money and people would accept it so they did. I boycott any piece of shit company that treats its consumers like infantile halfwits so Apple and as of late Samsung are out.
