This is probably Bay's best film, it's one of his where just about everything works, and has both the great actors and action, amazing score, and Bay's directing is actually pretty solid. It's definitely a classic 90's action film which is always fun to re-watch. Great review!

Outside of his 007 appearances, The Rock and Outland are my two favourite Connery movies. Sir Sean a legend of the big screen in my opinion, RIP to the great man.

Great review it's a decenti film, Ed Harris has the best performance. Have to say Jess is a brilliant addition good chemistry with Gary and very knowledgeable, do miss Iain's "and I'm" intros though.

You guys are the perfect combination of folks who simply love a film but enjoy a deeper discussion about some interesting points behind the scenes that don’t come across as derivative or typical. Your joy shines though so thank you

This movie and Tango & Cash are the only two buddy action movies where I honestly can't say one character is the lead and the other is the sidekick. Always thought it was interesting how they chose to go that route with it.

The Rock is such a guilty pleasure of mine. Finding out how much was cut, I wouldn't mind seeing a directors cut one day, I'm sure Bay's true vision was batshit

I always enjoyed sean connery more in his older age. The man was like a fine wine R.I.P. :(

Imo the best action movie Michael Bay ever made. The stunts are impressive, the cast is great and Bay's directing is not as hysterical as in his later movies. I wish he would have continuted in this direction.

Dude, please, stop calling those guys marines! Those are Navy S.E.A.L.S. They're sailors, not marines.

Thank you so much for mentioning that this film reunited Harris & Beihn since The Abyss! Been a major Cameron fan all my life & seeing Cameron's actors meet up outside of his films has always been a fun ride.

Saw The Rock in theaters (probably a little too young) and it's one of my favorite movie memories.
