Just wanted to put this out there...I tried both the Fairview 40 and the Farpoint 40 at an REI store today. I felt that the Fairview may be better suited for curvy women. However, I think the Farpoint may still be a better option for women who are not wide in the hips. The bottom of the hip straps on the Fairview are set wider. A woman who is not very wide in the hips may end up losing the hip support in the Fairview.
Thank you! I've been searching for exactly how the straps are different. I'm so used to 'womens' backpacks just being smaller distances between parts and generally for smaller people. You're the best.
I'm a fun sized guy. I feel the Farpoint is less comfortable then Fairview. I believe user should be comfortable to what they need. So guys, it's ok to use Fairview even though it says "specifically for women".
I second this. I was at the shop and the sales assistant pointed out that the fair view seems to be designed with European body frames in mind. Since I’m 171cm (5 ft 7”) , the fair view fits better as it’s slightly shorter so it sits on top of my hips perfectly. This was for 55L though. So please try on a physical bag.
I just got the fairview 40 too. Im a more small sized boy so i feel the farpoint is somehow a little big for me so i resorted to the fairview and it was quite comfortable to me. Yet to test it out on a trip but i hope it was a great choice
Great in depth video on the Fairview 40. I agree, it's the best one so far. My wife's used hers for 4 weeks of travel and really likes it. Sadly after the first trip, we noticed the inside binding connecting to the zipper had ripped all apart. She still used it for a week in Italy and it's at Osprey right now being repaired under their lifetime warranty. Regarding the buckles at the front of the shoulder straps, I had no idea they could be used to clip in the sternum strap. Thanks for the tip! They're actually designed to clip their smaller daypacks turtle style like their larger travel backpacks. Folks are saying that the new, newest version of the Farpoint 40 has been updated with the same buckles and key lanyard in the small front pocket that the Fairview 40 has. Having tried and returned Minaal, Ebags, and Pacsafe Venturesafe travel backpacks, I have to say the Osprey Farpoint/Fairview 40 bags are pretty decent for the money. While not perfect, they have a lot of great features for a minimal price point. I don't travel with a laptop, but hopefully Osprey will revise the next edition to place the laptop compartment inside the main compartment like Eagle Creek has done on their new travel pack.
The best review on Osprey Farpoint 40 ever seen so far. I bought this backpack for my wife as soon as Osprey introduced it since I already had the well known Farpoint 40 for me.
I'm sold to this pack! I bought the grey one and I absolutely LOVE it! Update: I just got a Farpoint 40 for my husband for our trip to The Riviera Maya next month!
Wish the fairview was available when I bought my farpoint. I'm a petite girl and I think the fairview would've fit me better. But I've been travelling with my farpoint ever since I got it in 2016 and have been very pleased.
I would love to see you guys do a packing video for this bag. I am just now getting into carryon only travel and packing minimally. I own this bag and would love to see how you guys recommend packing it for travel up to a month. Due to this bag being newer the only videos out there are for the far point. (In the past I would pack too much so trying to pack this bag with everything does give me a wee bit of anxiety lol)
Bought the 40L one based on this review! So far it’s been the perfect bag for me from travel to camping. I love it. Thanks for reviewing bags in such detail!
Nice video, thanks. I'm thinking about the Fairview as well as several others (Peak, Tortuga, REI Ruckpack, etc.) I haven't seen much on the Kathmandu Litehaul 38L. Would love to see a video on this pack, especially one comparing it to others of its size and features.
Hey Eliz - glad you're digging the video. We currently have no plans to review the Kathmandu Litehaul 38L in the immediate pipeline, but it's on the list. Thanks for sharing! 😊 - Rebecca
Hi Rebecca, watching your great review for probably the 20th time in the last couple of days😅😅. Thanks for a great review. My head is spinning a bit on which bag I shd get. I'm torn between this one and Eagle Creeks Wayfinder 40l. I like all aspects of the Fairview 40 apart from having the compression straps visible over the net pockets the whole time. Can these be hidden/tied back someway when being worn? Do the hip straps come off completely? And with the Wayfinder, can the bag be compressed when half full or does it always look as "bulky". If you have time to reply, it would be so very much appreciated.
Hey ML Korb-Leung - you got it! Glad you're finding the review helpful. On the Osprey Fairview, there isn't a hideaway system for the compression straps. This wasn't too much of an issue as it provided some extra security with the zippers and the straps enabled you to compress the pack down when it's not at full capacity. With the Wayfinder, because there aren't compression straps, the front of the pack tends to sag slightly when it's not fully loaded. Overall, these are both solid packs that provide a comfortable carry, so it really does depend on your travel style and use case. If you're finding it difficult to decide, we recommend checking out the full written reviews for these products for more information: Osprey Fairview 40 - packhacker.com/travel-gear/osprey/fairview-40/ Eagle Creek Wayfinder 40 - packhacker.com/travel-gear/eagle-creek/wayfinder-backpack-40l/ And you can take a look at our Backpack Guide, which will help you to select the right bag for you packhacker.com/guide/best-travel-backpack/ - hope this helps! I know you did this review a while ago, but I am considering between the Cotopaxi 42L and the Fairview 40L for my three month backpacking trip. Do you have any suggestions between the two? I have watched both reviews and cannot decide. For reference, I am going to be traveling mainly by Eurail, but this will be my carry on bag when I do fly. My biggest concern is the hip strap not fitting as a curvy woman. Thank you! :)
What has been your favorite travel backpack for petite women? I am 4'11 and have an osprey ariel 65 and the straps dont fit right at all. My torso is just way to small so the frame sits in mid air above my shoulders.
Hey Cecilia - for a smaller torso, the Osprey Fairview comes in an XS/S (if you're in the US) that we'd highly recommend. We're working on bringing out more female-specific travel bags this year, so stay tuned for that! 👍 - packhacker.com/travel-gear/osprey/fairview-40/ - Rebecca
@@PackHacker Great, my husband and I LOVE our Osprey packs as opposed to using rolling luggages. Your reviews and tips have been super helpful so keep doing what you're doing :)
might be a bit late, but can i ask how the size compares to the farpoint 40? do you really feel the 2 liter difference? i like the bigger capacity and the strap fit on the fairview but to be honest id have love for them to just come out with a black as opposed to the bizarre sludge grey they came out with...
Hey Ariella, comparing our S/M Farpoint (Which is 38L) to our S/M Fairview 40L, there is a noticeable difference. You can certainly fit more in the 40L Fairview, but 2L is still only 2L - the biggest difference is the carry, the Fairview will provide you with a much more comfortable experience. We agree it would be nice to have an all-out black version of the Fairview too. Were there any other packs you were looking at or are you pretty dialed in on the Osprey packs?
Pack Hacker pretty much would be happy with the osprey because of the sturdy materials of the bag and the lifetime warranty. Also it's easier for me to physically obtain the osprey as opposed to lesser known brands. Are there other bags you would recommend over the Fairview?
Hey Ariella- there really is no "best backpack" but we do believe there's a "best backpack for you". Check out our guide ( packhacker.com/guide/best-travel-backpack/ ) on choosing the best for YOU and hopefully it will clear up more of your questions :)
Thanks for the review! I already have the Farpoint 55 from 2016, but would you recommend switching to the Fairview 55 or is the difference not big enough to merit a switch?
I just bought a Farpoint 40 M/L but I'm considering changing it to a Fairview 40. I was just wondering if the Fairview 40 has slightly less space due to the size S/M?
Hey do you take a day pack with the 40L? I’m unsure if I should get the 40L and a day pack or getting the 55L and using as two separate bags (40L and 15L daypack)
Hey Amee, we would recommend a packable daypack with this, something like the Matador Freerain24 - th-cam.com/video/jCRqjWegflA/w-d-xo.html The 55L with the detachable daypack could be a good choice, but if you're flying just note that it's too big to be used as a carry-on item, which could be a problem. - Nathan
Pack Hacker thank you! I had my reservations about the packable bags as I wondered how comfortable they would be? I’d probably be using this whilst there going on day trips etc.
@@amee_g We've found them to be great for daily use! It all depends on what you carry with you-we try to keep ours as lightweight as possible with only the essentials! However, many can carry around a laptop and other heavier items too without a ton of discomfort. -Hannah
Are there any differences in the Fairview vs the Fairview Wheeled other than the wheels? I am looking for a new carry-on suitcase and love the idea of a hybrid.
I looked at the Fairview 40 at the Atmosphere store in Regina, Canada. The back strap concealment cover seemed to differ from that in the Pack Hacker review video. There was a velcro patch at the back of the pack near the point of attachment of the strap cover. There was no complimentary velcro to attach to. The cover would not stay in the intended area inside the pack. As a result the cover flapped below the pack. Not a desirable look or feature. I hope this is a defect and not a deliberate design feature. The waistbelt straps are pretty short for me, especially when wearing cold weather winter gear.
Hey Susan - thanks for sharing your experience with us. That's interesting to hear that there wasn't any velcro or other attachment to secure the hideaway cover. We'll check this out! 😊👍 - Rebecca
I notice that there is a lot of interest in zipper manufacturers. There is a document on fiber 2fashion discussing zippers called the ten largest zipper companies in China (or a similar title). You may be interested in it.
You missed out on a size in this review. The smallest size referred to as W XS/S though referred to as Fairview 40 according to the pack dimensions info on the US site is a 38 litre pack and NOT 40 I know because I did a lot of research to see the size differences to buy the W XS/S size for my sister :)
Nathan, don't mean to be a pain but you are wrong it's available all over Asia and Australia too :) I know because I have been extensively searching for it in different markets. Where it is specifically not available is the European market due to EU flying regulations they made it for that market in ONLY one size which will not be rejected as cabin baggage by any of the airlines. This size when it's dimensions are compared with the 2 sizes known as W XS/S and W S/M which are available in the USA store are slightly different so it cannot be referred to as either one of the sizes.
Hey Harpreet - this really comes down to your judgment of the given circumstances. The top compartment is great for keeping items you want quick access to, but it does depend on where you're traveling to and your specific circumstances when it comes to deciding where the safest place is to keep your passport. The front and main compartment are also lockable so this may give you some extra security and peace of mind when organizing your valuables. 😊 - Rebecca
Thanks for the stunning review, almost pull my trigger to this bag , but something bothers me , I am 5'4, 115 lb, what size of Farview would fit me better ? sometimes my husband will help me to carrying the bag , he's 5'8 125lb, should I get the Farpoint or Farview? Are the buckles on the Farview very useful ? eg. hook the day pack on
Hi Flora - it's all about the length of your Torso when it comes to sizing, so you'll want to figure out the measurement of yours before choosing the right size! As for the buckles on the pack, we tend to prefer lower profile packs and not attaching too much in addition. - Tom
Have you all had the chance to try out the Gregory Proxy 45 yet? I was originally going to buy the Fairview for my 4 month trip, but the Proxy seems to be a similar style with potentially a few nice extras. Would love to hear a review if you have one! Thanks!
When comparing the Osprey Fairview and the eagle creek global companion, when it comes to durability and or the fabric it’s made of, which do you guys feel would hold up to some outdoor adventures better?
Hi Hannah, great question! These are both really solid packs and we can see them both lasting a long time as far as durability goes. We'd say you're safe with either! -Hannah
Hey illancilla - while packing cubes are not necessary for a clamshell design (because it's possible to just pack your items and secure them with the compression straps inside) we do recommend using packing cubes to make the most of your space and it will give you some added organization too. Compression cubes are great for this, but you can also check out our Packing Cube Guide packhacker.com/guide/best-packing-cubes/ which can help you find the right packing cubes for you and your use case. Hope this helps - let us know what you decide! 😊👍 - Rebecca
Hey lena M A - we haven't been able to get our hands on the Osprey Fairview 55, so we're unable to verify the sizes and dimensions without testing it out. Plus, when we looked into this pack, Osprey doesn't specify the size of the daypack either. We recommend reaching out to Osprey directly as they may have some more specifics on the sizes. Hope this helps! 😊 - Rebecca
I haven't, but I'll give it a test when my pack arrives. Just ordered it after watching this video and seeing that the suspension system isn't TOO different.
Bit late to ask, but I'm thinking about buying the fairview backpack, but my only worry is that with the laptop sleeve being on the front, the laptop might get bent if the backpack is full. Any opinions on this?
Never too late to ask Sanna, always happy to help! Having the laptop at the back would definitely be better, and though we can't guarantee you that your laptop won't bend - we've tested the Fairview with a 13" Samsung Notebook, and the very similar Farpoint with a 15" Macbook Pro, and we've never had any issues. All the best.
Hey Chaya - deciding on which size backpack will work for you also comes down to your travel style. Although we haven't tested the 55L version, it's not carry-on compliant with most airlines and at full capacity, it's going to be pretty heavy. The 40L and 55L also offer different features, so working out what features are most important to you will also help you decide. Hope this helps, let us know if you have any more questions! 😊 - Rebecca
Pack Hacker from past travels I realized I overpack way too much and watching you with this backpack is what made me reconsider getting the 55L, also the carry on option sounds better then having my luggage not arrive with me again (to India) was what made me look at different options available. Thank you for your help, just one more question: was it comfortable to carry for long time and long travels?
Would anyone suggest the Fairview 55 for trekking and hiking? Also, I feel like the back of the pack isn't airy enough - how does it feel like after hours of walking?
Hey sara b - while there may be better packs with more ventilation that are specifically made for hiking, the Osprey Fairview is a great crossover and still does a great job at this too. We reviewed the Osprey Fairview 40 and we found that the harness system was comfortable with some good breathability too. You can find out more about this in our full written review here packhacker.com/travel-gear/osprey/fairview-40/ - hope this helps! 😊👍 - Rebecca
Hey MrPookiexL3oi - you can check out our thoughts on the Osprey Porter 46 here: packhacker.com/travel-gear/osprey/porter-46/ When it comes to capacity, it does depend on you and your use case. Hey Kiara! This pack works well on a smaller frame, there is a WXS/M size as well as WS/M available for the Fairview 40, so you can find a pack that matches your torso size and fits you better. Hope this helps! 😊 - Rebecca
Hey EKTD! We think you're referring to the navy DSPTCH Travel Pack. Here's a link to our full review: packhacker.com/travel-gear/dsptch/travel-pack-2/ -Hannah
@@PackHacker thank you very much Nathan. since i cannot test it before i buy, i really appreciate your answer. thanks again from a Portuguese follower of your channel.
About why the Farpoint's marketing moved from Unisex to for Men. It's because any Unisex gear actually is made for men in mind. Women aren't considered at all. Unfortunately thats the case with so many things, even smartphones, which are made to fit the average male hand. I'm a lady so I understand the pain.
I actually would prefer it to be available in typical girly colours like pink, red or purple too. At least the wine red. Heck, this one is not even available in black. Just grey instead.
not sure if i got the wrong size but the hip strap is way to tight on me and only goes across my waist, can i do anything about this (apart from weight loss) hahahah
Pack Hacker yes please, because there are a lot of reviews about the osprey farpoint and some of the Fairview, nut just like 3 of the rei co-op ruckpack and its 40tl like the osprey, they are direct competence. But I wan to know more difference before buying one of the two
As is often the case, different perspectives will produce different evaluations of the same facts: Con: Front compartment is tight when the main compartment is full. OR Pro: The bag is able to be filled-out by use of the main compartment alone.
Hey sbs5130 - we're going to have to disagree with you on this one. Some backpacks are designed with liter-independent compartments, which makes it easier to utilize the full capacity of each compartment. So, filling up one pocket doesn't cut into the space of the other. That's a better design solution. The use case you're describing isn't an optimal one-it would be better to have one main compartment instead of the wasted space and extra weight of 2 compartments (extra fabric, zippers, etc) if the wearer only wants a single compartment. Take a look at our review on the MPL30 which features liter-independent compartments: packhacker.com/travel-gear/evergoods/mountain-panel-loader-30/ Take a look at our review on the GORUCK GR3 which has one giant compartment: packhacker.com/travel-gear/tortuga/setout-backpack/
I agree that the weight and space of the extra zippers and fabric needed to create multiple compartments is not optimal if one *always* wants to use fewer compartments than what a given bag offers. But my perspective, which I chose to not state in my original comment, is to be thrifty and own just one travel backpack for which the internal volume can be used (nearly) optimally whether I wanted to use just the main compartment, or also use minor compartments. A good example of this is the laptop: for some trips I'll be bringing it and I would want to have a separate compartment to store it in, while for other trips I won't be bringing my laptop. If the volumes of the "laptop" and main compartments are not shared, and I don't pack my laptop, then fully utilizing the bag's internal volume *requires* filling the "laptop" compartment with stuff. This will likely result in sub-optimal use of this internal volume; for example, there are probably no packing cubes which are as thin as this "laptop" compartment. But if the volume of the two compartments is shared, then I have the *opportunity* to more optimally use this internal volume via the main compartment. This may be achieved, for example, by rearranging the cubes, or changing the number and/or sizes of cubes. I have read the referred reviews of yours, and I'm mostly not swayed to your point of view. I appreciate the desire to force main compartment items away from the volumes of minor compartments in order to minimize interference (i.e., main compartment items squishing any fragile contents of the minor compartment). But for minor compartments at the top of the bag, gravity will massively (pun intended) help keep the main compartment contents away from the minor compartment contents. I have used the High Sierra Access backpack (not the brand-new version) as a large under-seat carry-on, and I like that both the side access pocket and, especially, the front-top small pocket share internal volume with the secondary full size compartment. And, using it for travel (which I acknowledge is not its primary design use case), I do not like that the primary and secondary full-size compartments do not share internal volume with each other, thus forcing me to pack things in both compartments. Thanks for responding and providing the opportunity for furthering discussions, and providing the context for it to stay informative and civil.
The only thing I don't like about that style of hide-away backpack straps is that you can't use the straps pocket for something else if you have the straps out. If the straps had a sturdy convenient release clip buckle at the bottom, you could just unclip the backpack straps and stuff them into a permanent back pocket. That way if you were using it in backpack mode, you could stuff a bit of extra stuff in that space rather than "creating" the space on demand when you cover up the permanent backpack straps.
Straps that unclip are really unstable when the bag is full. I have an Eagle Creek bag like that and I hate it for backpack carry. It is more like a suitcase that you can carry as a backpack. The Fairview is a backpack that you can stow like luggage.
Hey cheninblanc! The stow away straps feature is useful because it protects the harness system when not in use. Straps tend to easily get caught when when traveling which could damage the bag. - Austin
Hey - finding a pack that will fit you well does depend on your torso size. By working this out, it will help you decide which pack will work better for you. Hope this helps! 😊 - Rebecca

I've been wondering: When you talk about the smaller body frame, what about guys who are not as brawny? Fairview or Farpoint?
Hey Daniel, stick with the Farpoint, but make sure to get the s/m version.
- Nathan
I just bought a Farpoint 40 M/L but I'm considering changing it to a Fairview 40. I was just wondering if the Fairview 40 has slightly less space due to the size S/M?
Hey lodinnas - the Fairview 40 S/M is the same size, but the Fairview XS/S is smaller than the Farpoint 40 M/L. Hope this helps! 😊
- Rebecca
Hey do you take a day pack with the 40L? I’m unsure if I should get the 40L and a day pack or getting the 55L and using as two separate bags (40L and 15L daypack)
Hey Amee, we would recommend a packable daypack with this, something like the Matador Freerain24 - th-cam.com/video/jCRqjWegflA/w-d-xo.html
The 55L with the detachable daypack could be a good choice, but if you're flying just note that it's too big to be used as a carry-on item, which could be a problem.
Unfortunately, we don’t have experience with the wheeled version, but as you said, a hybrid is an interesting idea!
-Eric
- Rebecca
I notice that there is a lot of interest in zipper manufacturers. There is a document on fiber 2fashion discussing zippers called the ten largest zipper companies in China (or a similar title). You may be interested in it.
That sounds like an interesting read, we'll take a look. Thanks for the heads up!
- Rebecca
@@PackHacker have you checked out Qubix packing cubes from Travelite? I'd be interested in your opinion.
Please compare this bag with the Eagle Creek Global Companion!!!
We'll see what we can do! They're both solid packs! 👍
-Hannah
It's really a good backpack, thanks for sharing
Awesome! Glad you dig it :)
You missed out on a size in this review. The smallest size referred to as W XS/S though referred to as Fairview 40 according to the pack dimensions info on the US site is a 38 litre pack and NOT 40 I know because I did a lot of research to see the size differences to buy the W XS/S size for my sister :)
Hi Pierre, you are correct. There is an XS/S size available, but it's only available in America. Thanks for pointing this out.
- Nathan
Nathan, don't mean to be a pain but you are wrong it's available all over Asia and Australia too :) I know because I have been extensively searching for it in different markets. Where it is specifically not available is the European market due to EU flying regulations they made it for that market in ONLY one size which will not be rejected as cabin baggage by any of the airlines. This size when it's dimensions are compared with the 2 sizes known as W XS/S and W S/M which are available in the USA store are slightly different so it cannot be referred to as either one of the sizes.
Thanks for the info Pierre, great stuff.
- Nathan
Hi, Is it safe to put the passport in the front pocket. Where do u put your money and cards
- Rebecca
8:05 that's a thick backpack alright
You can definitely fit a lot in this pack, keine031!
-Hannah
- Tom
This channel rocks.
Thanks, featherfoothiker! 😄🎉

Have you all had the chance to try out the Gregory Proxy 45 yet? I was originally going to buy the Fairview for my 4 month trip, but the Proxy seems to be a similar style with potentially a few nice extras. Would love to hear a review if you have one! Thanks!
Hey Anna, unfotunately we haven't, but we'd certainly like to get our hands on one. Looks good.
- Nathan
When comparing the Osprey Fairview and the eagle creek global companion, when it comes to durability and or the fabric it’s made of, which do you guys feel would hold up to some outdoor adventures better?
Hi Hannah, great question! These are both really solid packs and we can see them both lasting a long time as far as durability goes. We'd say you're safe with either!
-Hannah
Pack Hacker thank you!!
why do u say cubes are not needed for this kind of design? I was actually thinking to get the compression cubes ..

Great review. Would love to see a review of the Eagle Creek Travel Companion 40l and comparison between that and the Fairview!
Thanks FaerieDust! We're testing out the Eagle Creek Travel Companion 40L now-stay tuned for our full review! 😊
Pack Hacker Oh, that's great to hear - I've been hoping for you to review it ever since it was first announced! 😁
Awesome! 😄 We should have it up in the next couple of weeks!
I'm a 5'10 female with broad shoulders. Would you recommend to go for the fairview or fairpoint?
We'd still recommend going with the Fairview, just make sure it's the s/m version and not the xs/s model.
- Nathan
You should go try it in store. I'm 5'1 with a 18.5'' torso..the Fairview XS/S was waaaay too small for me.
Hi! How about the 55 liters one, without the day bag it is supposed to be 40 liters, is it carry on?
Hey lena M A - we haven't been able to get our hands on the Osprey Fairview 55, so we're unable to verify the sizes and dimensions without testing it out. Plus, when we looked into this pack, Osprey doesn't specify the size of the daypack either. We recommend reaching out to Osprey directly as they may have some more specifics on the sizes. Hope this helps! 😊
- Rebecca
Pack Hacker thank you much for replying.
Pretty thorough review! Are you going to review any more Osprey bags?

The shoulder strap clips are to clip on a 15L daypack!
Ah yes, that makes a lot of sense. Have you ever utilized it?
- Nathan
I haven't, but I'll give it a test when my pack arrives. Just ordered it after watching this video and seeing that the suspension system isn't TOO different.
Awesome, let us know how it goes!
- Nathan
Is this on all versions? My local retailer sent me a version without ☹
@@amandaatam Did you get the Farpoint or the Fairview? The Farpoint does not have the clips but the Fairview does.
I did not realize there is a whistle on the top strap for emergencies!!
Thx for review.
You got it!

How does it compare with the 55L? I’m 5’3” 41kg and I can’t decide which would be better
- Rebecca
Pack Hacker from past travels I realized I overpack way too much and watching you with this backpack is what made me reconsider getting the 55L, also the carry on option sounds better then having my luggage not arrive with me again (to India) was what made me look at different options available. Thank you for your help, just one more question: was it comfortable to carry for long time and long travels?
Hey Chaya - we found the carry to be comfortable over longer periods of time, but of course, your mileage may vary. 😊
- Rebecca
Pack Hacker thank you!

What size did u get?? I’m 5’2” and 140lbs..which size u think suits me?
Hey Marie Decastro- at 5'7" the S/M fit perfectly. We recommend grabbing the XS/S for a height of 5'2"!
Pack Hacker yay!! Thanks!!!!

Too bad it doesn't come in the wine red color, I loved it
Osprey is known for releasing new colors all the time - hopefully they'll consider it Ana!
Hi. I'm only 4'11" tall, does this bag fits to petite woman like me?
Hey Kiara! This pack works well on a smaller frame, there is a WXS/M size as well as WS/M available for the Fairview 40, so you can find a pack that matches your torso size and fits you better. Hope this helps! 😊

I wish Osprey made red in this one. I don't know why they only have two colours.

Great point, Vivi. We dig a good color selection, too!

not sure if i got the wrong size but the hip strap is way to tight on me and only goes across my waist, can i do anything about this (apart from weight loss) hahahah
Which is the difference between this and the REI?
Hey Liubiss! What REI pack are you referring to?
Pack Hacker the REI CO-op Ruckpack for woman 40lt
Thanks for pointing this out- we haven't reviewed this pack but we will check it out!
Pack Hacker yes please, because there are a lot of reviews about the osprey farpoint and some of the Fairview, nut just like 3 of the rei co-op ruckpack and its 40tl like the osprey, they are direct competence. But I wan to know more difference before buying one of the two
Makes sense Liubiss! We have a lot in the pipeline but definitely keeping this in mind. Stay tuned! :)
What size packing cubes are you using in this video?
Hey Allison - they are the Eagle Creek Pack-It Compression Cube Set S/M. Thanks for watching! 👍

Wonder if anyone has any advice for packing their fairview/farpoint and getting it to stay up. Mine just rolls most of the time.
Hey Nicole! This is a tough one with the Fairview and Farpoint as they're much easier to lay flat due to the curved bottom!
Yeah I thought that might be the case. The shot at 7:31 made me a little hopeful that there might've been a way, but I guess it's really just the snow
We tested placing heavy items at the bottom of the bag and still came across the same issue - bummer! Hope you're enjoying the pack otherwise!
As is often the case, different perspectives will produce different evaluations of the same facts:
Con: Front compartment is tight when the main compartment is full. OR
Pro: The bag is able to be filled-out by use of the main compartment alone.
Take a look at our review on the MPL30 which features liter-independent compartments: packhacker.com/travel-gear/evergoods/mountain-panel-loader-30/
Take a look at our review on the GORUCK GR3 which has one giant compartment: packhacker.com/travel-gear/tortuga/setout-backpack/
Being thrifty is a great way to look at things-we're glad you found a system that works for you! Thanks for your insights.
Why don't they make it in black? :(
5:48 I do not get why this would be useful
Hey cheninblanc!
The stow away straps feature is useful because it protects the harness system when not in use. Straps tend to easily get caught when when traveling which could damage the bag.
